Since all the CURB stuff will be free I do not know what is supposed to get people to get the new expansion? What do we get? New fighters and a new planet? Being I probably have no interest to visit Kashyyyk nor do I spend that much time in space (and when I do my TIE Aggressor is all I need) I see no reason to pay 24 bucks for content I already have.

Movie is one thing....something your purchase that you keep is another thing! All goes back to the apples and oranges...

At certain stores who care about their customer base...when you buy something at say $100 and within a certain time period the price at the store goes to $80, you can return with your receipt and they will reimburse you the difference....Happy Customers make REPEAT customers!

My problem with software though is that when you buy JTL for instance...if the software changes then you will receive updates yes, but it's still the same software...In our case where you have to have JTL to play the Wookiee Crap, then those with JTL should not have to pay for it again when purchasing the Wookiee Crap...

Now some will say "You aren't paying for JTL you're paying for the Wookiee Crap" You're paying for both!

Those who don't have JTL now will receive it! Those who have it are getting the shaft...plain and simple...

If they cared...(practical business sense not-with-standing) they would offer the Wookie Crap with JTL at a price for those who don't have it, and offer it at a lower price for those with the prereqs...

If the system requirements changed to (hypothetical) 5 gigs of RAM tomorrow would SOE go purchase a 5gig chip for all of it's playerbase? NO! We would have to buy it ourselves to play the game!

If the Wookiee Crap is required to have JTL for you to play it, then SOE should require you to purchase it seperately, unless it's in a bundled package, in which it appears that is the case....but practicality for a good customer relationship would package the Wookiee Crap for those who already have the prereqs...

Ain't much we (those how have already filled the requirements for playing the Wookiee Crap) can do, but grin and bear the screwing that will commence to those who have already shelled out the money....

Just my one cent and nothing more...

Sounds like someone needs some help with their anger management and issues around wookiees. what the matter did a wookiee squeeze you abit to hard in a wookiee hug and crack a rib or have you not been getting you weekly wookiee love?

If you already bought JTL you aren't getting the shaft because you have been able to play it all this time while those that didn't buy it haven't. They didn't get the benefit you did. So you did still get value for your money. You got to play content that those who didn't pay didn't get to play all this time. So how do you figure you are getting the shaft? And if you preordered JTL you even get a /flashspeeder that most likely anyone buying this expansion won't get. So you ARE getting value for your money. Stop your whining and get the upgrade or don't.

This is a great deal...except that I already have JTL. I'd just love to see an actual JTL key included in that download. That way, I could actually use it on my one account that doesn't have it enabled.

Don't suppose you guys are doing that, are you?

They should be rewarded then for not having that benefit and not paying for JTL before? That is a ludicrous argument, your saying all of us who were customers that PAID money to SOE for the JTL content are the ones at fault.

I think everyone is familiar with the concept of depreciation -- but for all of those "this happens all the time" folks, can any of you name a single game that's given its immediately previous incarnation away for free just six months later? This usually takes at least a year before it gets bundled.

Personally, I don't care-- but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me and I understand why some people are irritated. I mean, they just bought the game and now it's not worth the box it came in? Sure, they can do what they want, things depreciate, etc., etc., but it certainly doesn't speakwell ofSOE's regard for their early adopters.

That made me laugh, ive got about the same low opinion of the wookie planet as I did for people that took wookies with no idea how they should have been played but cause they got ubber stats. Its sounds like a giant waist of time going there unless you are a sypathetic wookie loving rebel. But like all good business plans SOE arent stupid and are making anyone that wants cybernetics get the expansion so ill have to get it for a tiny part of the content.

So with that in mind I would like to know why we that went out and ordered Jump to lightspeed like good consumers are paying the same for half (realistically less than half JTL was a worth while expansion ROW is a planet and some content that should be provided free)of what people that didnt want to spend money buying JTL and are now getting. At a guess would it be because no one is bothering with space missions anymore, and the genius behind making it impossible to solo someadvancement mission is now trying to come up with a fix for getting people back into space. Or just the ROW doesnt cut enough content to make it a worthwhile purchase unless you have JTL?

welcome to planet turd home of wookiee crap ROFL

That cracked me up.
I dont get why you are all throwing a fit. Tis the way it goes. For all you expert mmo players out there, you should of saw this coming.
and in six months you all will be arguing this again.
how do you sell something that died two weeks after it hit live?
if it was worthwhile they would of made it a requirement but obviously sales are bottomed out, so... only way to get people to use it is by bundling it with the wookiee crap expansion lol.
I bet the wookiee crap expansion will die the same death as jtl did. and it will be bundled with the next bad idea to come down the pike
til someone on that end actually gets what is wrong. Then we will see the lightsaber at the end of the tunnel.

til then... time is ticking on my two year bet devies.

To answer your questions:

  • When you purchase the digital download you will also receive the JTL content free and be able to access it. The digital download is on pre-order right now and after we go to regular orders JTL will still come free with the download.

  • For those of you that purchased JTL already you are paying to receive the EP3 content.

So people who already have JTL pay the same for less..?

No you can pay the same price without. This is done constantly in the gaming, and as far as that goes, any market. Why do you think they come out with, wow "The Game of the Year" edition. Oh yeah we get to buy the same game over with little added but for nearly full price. Oh yah! Then you see companies who have a title that isn't going well, so the combine it with one of their games that is at a "bargain" price, you get both for the price of one. Then people who wanted the first game but never got around to it, and those wanted a second copy of the original suddenly "without paying for it" suddenly are interested in it. Do any of these companies give kick backs to people who own the game already? Of course not! So tell them you don't want JTL but you will pay the same price for RotW, hay they won't mind.

One distinct advantage is I would believe for those who have more then one account, which I don't. They could now get JTL for that account and still have RotW for either one. Again I am not sure you can do it this way, but it would certainly be a selling point for RotW in the minds of SOE.

Secondly the DEVs don't make these decisions. Production and Marketing do, as well as the overall parent SOE. The Devs might have input but they rarely have the deciding factor in how it is packaged, marketed and published. About the only thing you are going to get is a seperate buy at the same price, because it is clearly stated that it is free to those who want to buy RotW. To now give a reduced price to those who now have purchased the packaged deal and already have JTL to see others get a seperated reduced price for RotW without JTL.

As it stands now if you have more then one account and have not paid for all of your accounts to have JTL, you will get a bargain in buy more then one, because now you will get both for the price of one for accounts you have that do not yet have JTL, and again I don't have more then one account so I am not speaking of any break for me.

This is just how gaming along with many other markets have packed "deals" for a long, long time.

All I really expected was a discount. I mean its one thing to give every new customerJTLS for free. But if someone already has a JTLS enabled account why not give them a discount? It makes perfect sense an encourages them to buy the new expansion because they see SOE did'nt forget them an still value thier bussiness. But no I guess I dont have a degree in bussiness it must be better to give your customers the shaft whenever possible.
