To me... everything is just too cluttered. I don't like it.
I liked the old way of being able to scroll the forums, and then come to a forum and see when the latest post was. Now I have to go into the forum to check.

Of all the boards I have ever used this format is by far and away the WORST I have ever seen. The switching from compact to verbose mode does not solve the problems. It is difficult to navigate cluttered with crap I do not ever look at or will never desire to look at and layed down with boards and statistics that have no value to the comunity what so ever... too many bells and whistles are a bad thing.
Every other board I have used that is powered by Lithium (including the other SoE boards) uses the same format, this board should too as there are many people who pay for subscriptions for multiple games and need to read the boards for those services they are paying for. It makes takes up more time having to deal with boards that are layed out in a drastically different manner--in short stick with the style that the other boards from SoE use.
5 stars for killing the stars!
-55 stars for borking the boards up though.

Same here.
I would like to suggest to attach a "mark messages read" button somewhere, so the "Unread messages in brackets []" is of more use. ![]()

In your profile,
under prefrences,
scroll down and be sure
Show Latest Message for Top Boards
is checked.
Then under the Forums title it will list most recent thread posted

I like it, but how can I customeize which forums I see in each category?
i.e. The galaxies category doesnt show my galaxy, the Professions category doesnt show all the professions I check on a regular basis.
I'd like a way to individually customize each set to see what I want to see.

Until we can get them to ad the customization for columns, float the boards you want to see most.
this will put them at the very top of the page for you to see.

I think I'll put myself into the "I'll get used to it" category.
A few comments (most of which are repeats):
- "Top Boards" and "Users online" are really not that useful and take up a lot of space. Either dump those completely, or at least include an option to remove those sections.
- Once I played wiht the new "board float" option in verbose layout, having bookmarks at the top is a bit less important to me (since I used those for boards, not threads). But "subscriptions" do need to be at the top.
- The organization of the "galaxies" and "professions" sub sections need to be alphabetized. I'm not sure what ordering system they have now, it seems random. Well, actually, it seems like the boards that I want in those sections are always on the second page, maybe it's malevolent ordering.

- You should tell Lithium that a true "portal" allows users to select what data is displayed on the portal page, and in what order. It'd be great if I could filter out all the non-Chilastra servers from the galaxy and trade sections, move section with correspondant forums to the top, etc.

Honestly, I absolutely can't stand it. Give us the option to use the old format again.

I would like to see the option of more customization. Right now it is very limiting as to what boards you get to see on the portal page. And the "verbose" option is really not that helpful. I would like to be able to chose WHICH boards get displayed and which portal boxes will be visible. For example, Wandehrome is the galaxy forum i use, but i cannot view it on the main portal page. It would be very helpful if you could chose which boards on each portal box will become visible to you. It would also be helpful to chose which portal boxes you can see at all. For example, i do not find the Top Boards box useful to me at all, and would like to make it invisible. So overall, i think the portal system is great, but it would need some more customization

Yes. Can we please get an option to change between the old and the new?
