Okay lots of people don't like how they die from burning even after they win a fight so I was thinking about it and had this idea. Firstly I'm not a commando, but as its to do with you guys I thought I'd post it here.

Basically the solution is a new command: /dropandroll (or some better name)

This is an ability that everyone has and when used it can help to put out burning. The problem is it has a pretty large delay timer and for the duration of its use the target counts as being KDed - so they take double damage. I'd have it so that burning decreased with each use like bleeding does when firstaid is used. Maybe have it so that you get a modifier increase as you get more combat skills - so a hardened soldier is better at keeping their head and extinguishing the flames than adancer who doesn't know a blaster from a baton.

Anyway how does this compare to 'burnpacks' (maybe as well as burnpacks?)

Not a bad idea; although, I'd personally prefer droid-mounted extinguishers as a solution, as that would give DE's something to market, and hearken back to the films.

I like the idea. This would make em have to wait until the fight is over, or take extreme risk on focusing to put the burn out.

As for DE getting something marketable and use full, how about vehicle repair droids. Like R2 units from the movies that keep the ships working right in combat.

a BE can make a blanket that your freind (must have some one with you to aply )that he rapsyou in for 30 to sufiket the fire he can be in battel why he dos it but if he attcks back befor the 30 secs are up the flame dont go out and a use of the blanket is still lost(has maybe 5-7 chaerges )

this i think is the most realistic saloution to phasphrous fire you have to sufacat it to put it out

There is already 1 free unlimited way to put out a Flame DoT...it called Water...we would be suicidal as a profession to push for a second free unlimited way to put out the DoT...show me another professions DoT that works this way?

Any new way to put out the DoTMUST be in the form of a craftable item...the item would have to be rare as well craftable by higher level professionals...in essence, I would like to see FlameOut, which is craftable by Master Chef's converted into an edible item that puts out the Flame DoT...and it would work on a Timer...

This would accomplish3 things:

1. Whiners would have an item they can use to put out the DoT.


2. Chefs would have another item to make money off of and the master chef level would be valued even higher.


3. We would still keep our DoT the way we like it.

Hmm speaking of crafter gadgetry, I wonder if we could push for having a tinkerer profession in the SE that would let us put our FT in a bracer?

Anyways, if you get burned on Tatooine, you're screwed.I would personally prefer droids as the solution because seeing an R2 unit running around with a fire extinguisher would just be cool - not to mention it would be discouraged from combat use since someone could just one-shot the little barstool. It would definately need a timer though, maybe require a HAM cost for the droid too.

No the flame out idea is a great one, chefs need some loving, and by the sound of it, DE's are about to get their fair share of new stuff any time soon. I'm not 100% clued up on chef, is it a highier lvl item, don't want everyone running about with it as easily as that.

Firstly all other profession's DoT can be put out without a crafted item, except for poison/disease.

Now sure there is water....but the chances of being close enough to water for it to be a practical solution are very slim.

Droid's with fire extinguishers sounds cool, but I'm not sure how practical it is.

Using my solution burning is still very dangerous. Everyone moans about TKAs because of their potent KD skills - well this would probably be more effective than that. You have the choice:

-get incapped due to burning

-take the risk of being KDed for 10+ Seconds during which time you are both no threat to your attacker and they do double damage to you. Using it in a one on one duel would be suicidal....in a group you'd be vulnerable but the risk isn't so great if your squad can distract the enemy.

To those who think its stupid...well firstly its completely realistic - thats how you extinguish fire when you aren't 5 metres from a lake. Secondly Burning is going to have a solution soon, this one has serious drawbacks to using and so leaves Burning victioms more vulnerable.

I don't like the flameout solution - the idea of drinking a drink and it stops you being on fire is silly. Likewise asking for the person to be unable to do anything at all for 30s is, in my opinion, asking too much. Yes this would make burning less deadly - but I think that is something that is going to happen anyway, might as well at least make there be a tradeoff for getting rid of burning.

I suppose its not such a bad idea. It might be worth re-considering after we see how the new armour resist changes effect the DOT (when they get implemented). You might find that having good composite with good burn resist in a fight will be more than good enough.

I wouldnt mind the drop and roll aproach given to anyone to use as a freebe if it took enough time to where they would still be hurt bad enough to rejoin the fight right away without a doctor there to get em back up and running.

Just think about it. They cant complain about a hard to come by item, and if you are still alive it will be very dangerous for them to try to do it, even if there is a group with them, there could be a good chance you burn em all and they all are rolling around frantically, so just rinse and repeat the flame cone. lol

With it, I would like a screaming voice that came from em and better animation of em being on fire, of course, then I would be too busy laughing my ass off to pay attention to do it again lol.

i to dont think the food thing is to realistic so thats a no go realy

and when your on fire from phaspherous /stopdropandrole would actuly make you burn faster so thats a no go

flame extingusier thetyp of flame extingisier you would need to put out this typ of fire would killl you if you used it on your shelf it have to cut of all aire flow to your poors you would die a haribel death and the grifing that would hapen with ppl killing ppls droids would be way to much so this is a no go

but the only way to put out a phaspherousfire is to rap some one in a fire restint blanket for 30 secs

thats why BE blankets would be the best way to go about it

they would have 5-7 charges and your frend would have to rap you in it for 30 secs (if you have it on you he uses yours or he can use his if he has one)

this would put a end to stuiped one man raids and make them both verey vunrabel for 30 sec

i think this be the best way of going about it

Now lets not try to get too realistic on what really works or doesnt work or else we'll wind up with FTs that blow up in our hands. lol

Anyway, how about screams of anguish? I really like that idea.roflmao
