• DoT stacking has been changed so that each player attacking a target can only have one fire dot, one health bleed, one action bleed and one mind bleed.

This is form the Test Center forums, if I'm reading this right, it means I will now suck at hunting.

Let the Rants Begin!!

actually, its no more flamethrower in pvp.

fire dots dont stack

fire dots dont work well against atst

chef food flameout = 85% damage reduction on the first 3 shots (read: here comes commando, drink flameout, that flamespecial does nothing to you, as the fire dot is tied to the initial damage, initial damage is reduced by pvp by about 70% from pve damage, now this is a further 85% reduction, so those 500 damage flamer shots we used to put, vs a nonarmored target will hit 85% less so the flamer will hit for 75 INITIAL damage with this chef food, and the dot is dependant on the initial hit, so our dots will now be..around 50 pnts id say. cute no? oh and if target has composite, with that 50% or higher heat resist, youll be ticking them for a nice 20pnts. you'll be better off firing a marksman health bleed shot with your launcher pistol now.

oh and did you read the part about the fire dot now counting towards xp?

Now the flamethrower will truly bea grief tool in pve. all those dabblers and novices upping the trees to master will not care about the groups they are in, just one flame dot and bammo! the bulk of the xp goes into his pocket.

the stupidity of this is just overwhelming.

Yeah i did, this is why i have to go use Rancors to up my pistol XP over the next few days before they roll in this craptastic DoT killer. I've been resisting going pistol, but it seems like everyone is doing it...

Or perhaps I should go Rifleman, I hear they're doing allright...

go pistoleer.

fire dot + health shot2 using the LP will be your only stacking dot.

hilarious though.. you can drop master and just keep grenadeer now and truly be a master commando for all purposes.

unbelievable.

Suppose it's good we're getting screwed over now when I return to school from break this weekend, thus severly cutting down on play time.

By the time I can play again ( end of may ) on a regular basis maybe we'll be re-fixed.... however.... WoW will be out.

Wheeeeee.

Stacking DoT is apparently no good.

HOWEVER...

Stacking Defenses
Stacking Counterattacks, Blocks, Dodges
Stacking Pistol/Carbine accuracy (BH)

These are all perfectly acceptable.

I'm a new commando...can you explain exactly what you mean by this? Because I'm not going to bother mastering if there's no point...

just read the change right.

if i am informed correctly, you cannot put your 4 DoTs on a single target any more, but 4 players can each put one DoT on the target for a total of 4 DoTs. now lets see what happens if we have 5 or more people...

(though i am not really sure if multiple players can stack the same type of DoT on a target right now. maybe someone knows this for sure?)

--
basically i dream of a game system that does not need to help NPCs by giving them ungodly amounts hitpoints, resistances and damage, where there is no need for special damage reductions in PvP...

At one point, I downed a Krayt solo by using flamesingle2, flamecone2, flamesingle1, flamecone1... It lasted just long enough to get all 4 off... between 4 heavy DoTs whittling it away...

Was that before or after the last patch soup'd up te Krayts?

It's always been my feeling that instead of NERF'ing something, you fix the weakness in it's victim...i.e. they up'd the defenses and HAM on the Krayts so now it is much more difficult if not impossible to solo one (without dying yourself)...

So instead of killing our only working weapon, why not just give everyone higher heat resists (makes the DoT burn slower)...or some other idea...there have been plenty of good one's pushed out there...

That's bad. I been hit with damages over 300 from any elite class. Most of these is every second, unlike the best a master commando can do which is around 3 seconds.
