With the current state of the commando profession and with norevamp in sight I ask you one simple question -


Hypothetically speaking,if you were to recieve a respec for your character would you respec out of commando?

Why would I do this after over 2 years as a commando on multiple servers and mostly all my characters?

Because I want to be a Commando, a Star Wars Storm Commando/Specforce/Mandalorian Mercenary, or in RL terms, the equivalent of the Commando/SEAL/Rangers/SAS/Special Forces/Jeger(Norwegian commando). Currently commando in SWG is not slated to be, or ever be a "commando", but merely a heavy weapons trooper or in RL terms: "The unlucky squadmatethat has to carry the MG or thesoldierthat onlyfires the TOW"

but i do feel as of now commando is just a profession that gives a few cool weapons and is just an "empty"profession to get you to level 80 - no cool specials and no real big damage mods....


im ready to see our profession get some attention that is long overdue, especially when there are so many cool things they could do!

Ryubushi was created to be a commando, and he will die before he drops Mastery.


Respecing entirely is completely out of the question.


I picked up this game primarily because I wanted to be a commando in the GCW. Not a medic, not a smith, not a dancer, not a BH, and damn sure not a Jedi.


I want to be a commando, and I want the commando profession itself to actually work, dammit.

I actually respecced out of Commando right after the CU. That lasted about a week, and already I had the itch, felt the burn in my veins.I'd find myself sitting in my house, looking at my flamethrower hanging on the wall instead of going out getting experience. So I did the obvious, and ground my way back to Master Commando. I will never drop it again.

I love the groans that come from my fellow hunters, and to hear "Great, there goes Luc pulling the BFG again". I also love how, even with the nerfs in our damage and AoE, I can still pull a stampede off the others, doing more damage than our master pistoliers and riflemen.

I refuse to support the NGE due to the way it was announced and implemented.
The Commando gets "upgraded" thanks in part to the lobbying of the Commando Correspondent, while 3/4 of the professions are axed. And now, Commando is broken. Karma, baby, karma...

I actually respeced out of commando and smuggler to grind out FS luck as a master BH/MCM. I was miserable, even as I saw how much power the combination had. Actually, if anything, the time away from Commando served only to strengthen my resolve to stick to my "BFG" 's until this profession sees it's rightful due. The instant I had finished the grind, I went right into grinding back to my old template. Weaker damage, no healing and all, I'd rather play in a profession(s) that I enjoy rather than chasing after a template simply to be more powerful. The only thing that will make me drop Commando or Smuggler is if I can no longer enjoy high level content. Right now, even with the limitations we face, that's far from true. My favorite moments from high level hunts are after everyone I walked in with has cloned, and I start getting the /tells: "man, are you still in there" or "lol, aren't you dead yet?" Priceless when that /tellcomes from a Knight that cloned 10 minutes ago.

I am actually using the token respec INTO commando as soon as I'm done with the merchant skills, a few weeks only. I'm Smuggler by heart and beem wondering what to combind it with. Flamethrowers and heavy weapons sounds just the right path for me :-)


Did try out commando before the cu, was ok back then also. Now it sounds like just my kinda fun combined with Smuggler hehe

It's hard to say, but I know I'm so pissed off about how gimped we are that I haven't even played much as of late. I want are prof. fixed, If we could get 30% boost in damageto all are weapons (even nades),a lvl. 54 rocket launcher, andup our def(melee andranged)I would stay a commando forever. Butin spite of all the talk, I just don't see anything being done to make us whole in any way. So when all is said and done I just don't know if I want to stick around a yearor more just to see if they give us anything when they haven't yet.
