Maddogs, the reason you are just as powerfull at 0040 as you were at master is because the other skill trees in the commando profession are broken. You make a moot point due to this fact. If the commando as a profession worked then you would find things very different.

But that is his point... They are rearranging CH because certrain trees gave no extra benefit making it easy to dabble and be almost as powerful as a master with only taking a few boxes, so they are 'fixing' it. Which I believe he was saying goes for Commando as well but they aren't doing anything about it at the moment.

Would you get over it please.

How can you call a 0/4/4/0 a dabbler. I could at any point start working on my HAR and it would take no time at all. Actually drop the 3 levels of field tactics because it was useless. So I intend on picking up skills to supliment the short comings that commando has.

They are adding bonuses to the master level of commando. I believe in the TC they have a +25 malee defence.

SWG is supose to be a game that encourages dabblers.

Get off your high horse and deal with it.

They have a hard enough time keeping players in the game with out screwing us even more.

Don't give them a reason to.

the reason for the CH change is to 'fix' the high end mobs, that were never intended to be solo'ed by anyone. which it will fix ( other than ATST's )

its a balance issue that deals with dabbling, to make the game work as it was intended. The only thing broke in the FT line is the DoT on dodge, counterattack, and block ( DoT will still apply even though it was dodged

If you give commando's thier own personal pistol tree, it will infact bring MORE dabblers into the proffesion than FT's. The skill points is a good system, it encourages dabbling ( Not a bad thing ) and makes it more a personal template rather than a class.

One of the main differences with between the CH thing and the Flame Iv issue is that for a Graul Mauler you only needed to spend points for two trees in scout, those are trees I dont think I would want to live without anyways, and then 3200 in CH where as if you wanted commando for just the flame IV you gotta get master Markman and those utterly wasted skill points in brawler. So for the benefits of Flame IV you gotta spend 126 skill points versus Graul Mauler at 71 skill points or 67 if you are a wookie.

Can someone please point out to me where SWG says it encourages dabblers. Yes I know there are 250 skills points to use as you see fit. A master commando can master smuggler and teras kasi also any brawler elite proffesion and not have to dabble in anything.

You want to dabblegreat good on you be my guest. It still doesnt make since that a person with flame 4 is just as powerful with the flame thrower as a person with master. Just think if they move flame 2 to master that gives you even more points to dabble with to make the uber player. Not many points I concede but points non theless. The same goes for BH and eye shot. I have never tried BH but I have heard investigation is the hardest and most boring thing to do in the game. I would argue that crafting beats that but that is neither here nor there.

So give me flame single 2 and acid single 2 at master level for the time and points spent to master it.

i feel really sorry for the people who hate dablers when the exspantion comes out and gives us X new profesions and XXX more skill points to put where ever we want. you think dabling is bad at 250... what if it goes to 300? 350?

The character you define during character creation is only a starting point for your online persona. As you advance through the game, your character will evolve, gaining new skills, abilities, and even entire professions over time. You are free to choose exactly how your character grows and changes, deciding whether you want to specialize in a small set of related skills or to expand and diversify.

Each column in a profession is called a "discipline." You are not forced to learn all four disciplines in a given profession. In fact, you will probably want to mix and match disciplines, allowing you to focus on what interests you most. If you ascend to the top of a discipline, you may gain access to an Elite Profession or a new title.

The game wasn't built solely for dabbleing. If it was then there wouldn't be any novice or master skills. Nor would there be pre-reqs. You would be able to study and learn any combination of skills you wanted. No instead there ARE master and novice skill boxes and there ARE pre-reqs. And if they had wanted dabbleing at the level of the commandos FT then they wouldn't have changed CH the way they did. Commandos are soloing level 60+ missions now, they could do this with just 1 pet (none actually, with doc buffs and dancer buffs its easily done solo) My point is every |337 pvp grief whore has flame4 and uses it for chain suicidal grief attacks (burning people and dbing them with the supposedly fixed revenge tef, and letting themselves get killed so they can respawn and do it again). It needs changeing, I have no idea how but something had better get done. Its annoying to see kids running around with flamethrowers and being easily as effective as I am. Since when are children who have learned 1/4th of what the masters learned stand on an equal footing? It has to STOP.

For those of you dabblers who disagree, get a life, I'm sure your very pissed at the CH changes, so I couldn't care less how you feel about any potential changes to your precious 1 skill tree.
