Thread: Commandos Too Strong?
If you kite someone using a flame thrower they will die. Commandos also have pretty much no defences so if you dizzy them, they will die (well, some commandos go tka so maybe not then heh). Of course it may be a little hard until they make heavy weapons ranged weapons instead of melee weapons because carbines take extra damage from melee attacks....
Well, Commandos have extra points left to spend as well. So you might think he's just a Commando but he could also be a master Pistoleer. Shoot you up with a Pistol close the distance, whip out a flamethrower and Lightly toast you to a golden brown.
Combat is situational, not many peole are just one class and one class only. Not to mention who gets the jump and uses their abilities better.
Could you whop on the Commando? Sure, they aren't invincible. You could also lose. So questions like that just aren't really answerable. Try it out and see how you do.
Actualy a lovely lady carbineer intorduced me to hte concept last night that even inside 16m I am still gonna get owned...she is gonna be on fire but I will be dead.
Composite on our server is running around at about 60% effectivness for the good stuff. That will stop most of your one hit kills.
Add on some spice and a few buffs and suddenly people are really hard ot one hit kill.
I even got a few hits on her before the 16m Flame 2 hit but... she still owned me with Crippling shot. There is a lot about PvP your not taking into account. We are not the most powerful class in PvP by a long shot...only the Burn gives us a reason for people to avoid us. If they win they still have to burn for a while.

See now if only all the "nerf commando" posters read something like this, a well skilled, armored, informed opponent, ready for a battle, buffs, spice and all.
I've died at the hands of such opponents before, usually send em a "congrats on being a good fighter" after I clone. Any profession that is truly armored and prepared for battle can mix it up with any commando anywhere anytime, now if people would just spend as much time preparing for their fight as they did posting "nerf commando!!" we'd be all good ![]()

Actually I think commando needs a knockdown like everyother class. ![]()
/emote looks at heavy swordman and rifleman skills...............
I guess commando's aren't too strong, well perhaps slightly...
But in the case of carbineer vs commando I would make more sense to fix/improve the carbineer before nerfing/adjusting the commando.
But in a way its sligthly skewed, as they added the 75% damage reduction to avoid oneshot kills - with the llc and the commando fix, they put oneshot kills right back in the game. So maybe a little adjustment is needed, maybe enable the carbineer to oneshot the commando at 50m. Then as it is now things would actually be balanced ![]()
Well what I mean is fix before nerf, comparing a carbineer to a commando atm isn't really fair to the commando, as chances are that in 99% of times a commando would smack a master carbineer up real good.
As a small note: when I say master carbineer, I really mean a master carbineer - not a BH dabbler. Because there is a world of difference between a bounty hunter/bh dabbler and a pure master carbineer.

Why should commandos get KD. I mean they are stronger than bounty hunters, they are stronger than all other classes. Why should we makea class that only requires you to master one skill, and get 4 other skills to become so strong, when BH's are in comparison weak, and it takes then TWO master skills, AND the same about of Combat exp to get novice. I think its a little retarded that people think that Commandos should be stronger.
Enderr,
Please don't talk like a fool. If you want to start up the old skill point argument again, I will gladly shoot you down with one simple sentence:
Commando requires more combat-based skills than a Bounty Hunter does, therefore the Commando should be better at combat.
In fact, every single skill a Commando earns for prerequisites or otherwise are combat skills. Bounty Hunters master a whole profession of noncombat skills. If we all adhered to the logic you're attempting to apply to the class system, a Master Doctor/Dancer/Weaponsmith would be better at combat than a Master Commando, simply because more skill points are required to attain said professions.
But in reality Commandos are not stronger than Bounty Hunters, and they most certainly not stronger than all other classes. Half the Commando skill tree is still bugged. The HAR and Field Tactics lines are utterly useless. Commandos can easily be countered by a skilled PvPer.
Composite + MKIII Shield Generator + Doctor Buffs + Spices = Dead Commando.
If we can't one shot kill you, then you will most likely kill us.
