In fact, every single skill a Commando earns for prerequisites or otherwise are combat skills. Bounty Hunters master a whole profession of noncombat skills. If we all adhered to the logic you're attempting to apply to the class system, a Master Doctor/Dancer/Weaponsmith would be better at combat than a Master Commando, simply because more skill points are required to attain said professions.

Your Master Doctor/Dancer/Weaponsmith argument shows that you have the logic of a child. I am talking about Bounty Hunters, to get NOVICE bounty hunter WITH NO OTHER SKILLS, you have to spend 160 points. Now lets see how many you spend to get novice Command, 112. Now lets do the math. thats 48 points that we could spend getting Medic skills, Creature handler or any other skills. So dont try and act so smart. The points do matter and you know it.

I know the points matter, butBounty Huntersspend less points on COMBAT-RELATED skills than Commandos do. Therefore, they ought to be less powerful in combat than Commandos. On the other hand, Bounty Hunters should be better than Commandos when it comes to negotiating terrain and harvesting creature corpses. I fail to see how you intend to refute my argument by saying that you were talking about Novice BH rather than Master. It makes no difference whatsoever, because in both instances the Commando still spends more points on combat.

By the way, I don't try to act so smart.

AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to zip my screamer for weeks now as i see no point in discussion nerf posts, but yet again, they brought my water to the boiling point.

To all you nerf whiners:

I am master commando, and honestly, i hit the broadside of a barn with my specials only if:

  1. I am not moving

  2. the barn is not moving

if either of those points is not the case i miss!

So, what does that mean for you? I will try to exlpain it in simple words:

MOVE YOUR FRIGGIN A$$ IN COMBAT!

Next, the specials have only 16m range, so what does that mean for you? Correct, STAY AWAY FROM A COMMANDO.

Next, revenge TEF. There is no way to protect you from a commando that abuses the revenge TEF. This is right, as right as it possibly could be, as right as any other class could wipe the floor with your face abusing the revenge TEF.

So given that all, what does that mean for PvP? Well, first, don't run around like headless chicken, bunched up and ready to roast! Secondly use any means possible to keep the commando at distance. If you lose track of the opponents surrounding you, it is not the power of the commando that kills you, but your own inability to adapt to a living battlefield. A TKA in CC will rip you apart, a Pikeman in CC will rip you apart, a Commando in CC will rip you apart. Third, if you run away from a commando and try to escape inside of a building, better make sure it's a private structure, otherwise you just ran into a deathtrap. Besides any of the elite brawling classes NOTHING can stand against a Commando in CQB.

So, as a final statement about PvP: Learn the friggin rules!

But what does that all mean for Commando and PvE? A commando is extremely powerfull, he can solo any creature and earn tons of money on high end missions........ NOT!

I was running along with several riflemen and Bountyhunters, and when one of the riflemen came acroos a frassland Voritor tracker, he simply started shooting at it. I came to help in an instant, knowing this beast was certain death. Then, oneo f a sudden i am down, slain and back to the cloner. The rifleman didnt know what happened, when he told me "Man, these are my normal missions, i do them as a driveby...". He is doing them as normal missions? A drive by? Hell, these beasts mean certain death to me, and he takes them out with ease? Where the hell do people make their claims that Commandos are too powerfull? because OTHER professions have VERY powerfull skills?(Feign Death, Creature Handling, Defense Bonuses, Knockdowns, delays, freezes). Start to realise that commandos arenÄt THAT owerfull. It is the combination of different classes that make some of them powerfull. But that will be the case with every other profession, commando or not.

Basically, nefing is not an answer but pure destruction. Do not call for nerfs, call for the fixes of your own profession or the improvement of your own profession. What can be gained by taking away the fun from people if you are missiing the fun in your profession?

Oh.. and the voritors... I do them as drive by's too, I have scout skills so I can check their resists before engaging.

Voritor= Very good against fire, vulnerable to acid.

Solution, next time use the acid rifle or.. if you're a pistoleer.. the DX2.

I aint knockin getttin killed by em hehe I've died to em quite a few times, they're a pain in the a$$

Being a master commando myself I would say: Yes we are imbalancedright now.I think the weapon dmg is allright. 800 - 1000 a shot every 2 seconds is a lot but.. thats pure offence power. Commandos don't and shouldn't get any defense skills. But there are different things I would like to complain. You know that the Flamethrower (which is my mainweapon after all) is considered as melee weapon. Fine by me, I have to get into 17m range to get my specials off but why do we cause 3x dmg vs rifleusers? This simply makes no sense. I even hit for 3x on long range. Its not impressive, its simply imbalanced to hit for 2.5k with a normal shot on 50m range.

Of course I like getting off my specials every 6-7 seconds but on average I hit for 4.000 dmg. This might be less then others or equal, but there is still the dot, wich goes off for about 1.200 dmg. It would be ok to get our special off every 15seconds.

Another thing I don't like: You can use your Flamethrowerspecials vs 100% heat resistant mobs like Rancors and such. You don't do any dmg on the shot but the Dot still works at full dmg. So what? Why would I want to use my acid rifle wich is by far slower then my flamethrower? I just have to get my specials off (wich is easy enough) and run away. Rancors solo? No problem = imbalanced. Same thing with Voritors. There is simply no use to take my acid rifle vs those.

Another complete imbalanced issue is the stacking of our dots. You can use Flamesingle 1/2, Flamecone 2 (didn't try to apply flamecone1 as well) but all 3 stack. You would agree that one Dot of our specials is awesome, but you can apply 3 (or even 4).

So after all, I love being commando but we are way too powerfull at the moment. I think a little tweaking here and there and we are still powerfull but not outstanding above all others.

The only thing that needs to be fixed is the melee modifier. Everything else should be the same. BH are still just as or more powerful with the LLC. My friends were hitting for just as much as me with lightningsingle2 (or whatever its called), but there delay is nothing. Hear that? They have no delay like ours. The only thing that makes our flame even with the LLC is the DOT.

Nisamien:

We are not too powerfull, we are bugged. Fix our profession and we will be in total line when it comes to balance:

2.5 times danage against riflemen: Bug

DoT not reduced by resistances: Bug

Are of effect broken: Bug

missing animations on the HARs cone attacks: Bug

so, you see, as soon as BUGS are FIXED all is well
