At least he posted/announced there is a delay on the announcement of the delay. Sort of.

If you read into TH's posts, right now he is delayed in announcing the delay that he said he was going to announce last week. Or the week before. I am rather confused. Basically, he is delaying announcing the announcement of the delays. Or...something (brain explodes)
Agreed, it can be a bit...mind-boggling to say!
Originally this FF was to be CU related, but TH had to delay it for some reason or the other (and it wasn't going to be something such as those two FF's on CU weapons either). If everything goes as it should tho, Im pretty sure that FF should happen next week, but dont take that for fact.
At the very least...the space battle desktop is rather cool...

Actually, the CU announcement that I'm thinking ofis still planned as far as I know (and not a FF)...TH just posted this:
I am also working to get the announcements out as soon as possible, and as soon as we can, we will.
Notice he said "announcements"...there is a specific profession related FF planned next week I believe, but there is also a non-FF CU related announcement that could probably get posted anytime TH get's approval on it...I'm not sure what TH's CU announcement is for sure, but it's not a bad thing...
As for the other FF that some people were expecting, as far as I understand, it is planned for next weeks FF, and from what I've already seen, it's seriously cool and touching and while it won't impact us directly (or in some ways it could), it should mean a lot to all of us...I'm proud of what SOE has done to make next week's FF announcement happen (they had to go to the top for approval).

So next weeks FF is ostensibly going to be for Fencers only? or what?
Probably going to be a big screenshot of that Fencer Sword they promised to honor the Late Fencer Corr, but somehow left out of the CU weapons FF...

There is a reason to everything....
And if theres a FF devoted to Professions in the CU, it most likely would encompass all of us.

The issue is that we (general paying customers) are not receiving reasonable communication. How can announcing the reason for a delay (which is now TWICE delayed) be something catastrophic that requires this game of "hide the ball"?
What I was expecting was a statement on why the CU Alpha didn't start in January, why it was not started in February, and why it's March 4 and it hasn't started.
WHY it hasn't started doesn't require ANY detailed confidential proprietary CU information at all. I can think of no reason why a multi-million dollar MONTHLY firm can not find a way to say "This is why we didn't start things when we said we would ("after the holidays")."
It seems kind of obvious that the CU plan that SOE originally thought they could get away with was inadequate, and started a firestorm among the Alpha team when they saw it. So SOE should be out there saying "We didn't have a good plan in place, we got called on it, and we had to go back and totally rework everything to include all the outstanding suggestions of the Alpha team."
And there is no reason they had to wait this long to say it.
Repeatedly mission low expectations is sad.

you guys remember back in October when the sandbox was "a few weeks " away. Now here we yelling about not getting a post that was promised last week for this week explaining the delay and then we have those coming to the defense of SOE on not posting the post about the delay and excusing again the delay not only of the Cu but the delay of the post of the delay. Somehow I see this as a continued trend for some time to come.

this is not only a trend of the future but has been one from long past. SOE has always been notoriously bad at communicating things to the player base, getting thigns out in a timely manner, and i for one, am not in the least suprised.
not that i like it or defend it in the least. i just find myself resigned to it. lower your expectations and then never be dissapointed

Never lower your expectations in my opinion. It is true that SOE's track record has been far from being...favorable. BUT there have been changines to the team, organization and so on. There has been response to a lot of past player frustration, and the results are only starting to peck through the surface of it all.
Does that mean SOE will be the best ever company in a matter of months? Probably not, but we have seen that a little pressure in their pocketbook, does make some difference. And hopefully, it'll get better...
