Thread: What Weapon should I use on Turrets

I was useing the launcher pistol on these since it did blast damage, but i wasdoing very little damage. Any suggestions.

rocket launchers... FYI, the launcher pistol CAN be excellent against turrets, but only if you have some pistoleer/BH pistol in your template...

Totally disagree, RL or Launcher with stopping shot.

Sadly, your best bet would probably be a power hammer, regardless of if you're certified for it or not.
Gotta love how a guy with a sledgehammer is deadlier than a guy with a rocket launcher.

WIth your delays, the guy with the hammer will do most of the work. Try this, you attack one turret, Master swordsman attacks another and see who is done first. I will bet you that the swordsman will win.

Last night i was with a group of 10-15 rebels taking down Imperial Bases on Tatooine...no swordsmen, NO JEDI, and I was the only commando in the group...
I used both my LPs:
1) 1.3 spd 58-289
2) 2.1 spd 82-332
The first was krayt, the second a gorax LP. Fanshot is the best if you want speed and power as a Commando from Pistoleer, not only is it faster...but you do a bit more damage per shot in most cases Ive noticed. The first one with my pistol speed mods, fired about 1.5x faster than my gorax one...kept hitting for 400-1300 normally, with a few high's on 1500 dmg. My gorax one, a bit slower...but I almost always got shots off 1300 dmg or higher...average was between 1500-1800. So I decided to stick with the gorax for the rest of the night, as I was coming out a few hundred extra points in dmg overall.
Against Turrets (only partly with AT-STs), I was a considerable help. The moment I saw this impact, was more near the end where we were working on the last few turrets, and already blowing up a few bases. Waiting for the BH/Smuggler/BE to finish so I could finish the sequence off and allow the red button to be pushed...the rest of the group was fighting a Large Block turret, and taking forever to whittle down its health. Once I jumped back into the fray, the turret's health bar began to decrease a whole lot more...and for once, I actually was helping a group in taking down the big artillery pieces...
On the same note, I used some thermal detonators that night, made some nice explosions as well as took off a nice chunk of an AT-ST's HAM bar in one toss...
Needless to say, I felt pretty good...now, if a swordsman with a P-Hammer was there that night...I wouldve been casted out of the limelight =/.
Anyways my best recomendation is get a gorax LP that has good damage, and is very fast...pick up Pistol Techniques IV for special defenses and the fanshot/stopping shot specials...and you'll help do some damage. Rocket Launchers I would not recomend at all, as their Hvy AP does NOT count against turrets, since they're blast vulnerable. The 3-6k blast dmg you'd do with them (if you hit...) in the time it takes to shoot a rocket off, is easily surpassed by a commando with an LP using fanshot...

My best weapon against Turrets?
Butting my head into the sidewalk until I die. It's the best combat oriented contribution I can give in the state of the game right now.
With all the Swordsmen and Jedi running around, who needs a Rocket Launcher or LP equipped Commando?

Aye..now if only:
1) Got Better DPS on Blast-Dmg weapons
2) Got AP 2 on our LP
3) AP actually mattered on vuln...
Then we'd be a commodity....until then... =/
Its sorta funny to note, there was one other commando in that base hunt with me...but he was a 4-0-0-0 FS grinder, who ironically...couldn't fit the role (HW Weapons 1) needed for base take-down. At the very least....we have -some- use...

You USED to be able to krayt a LP. At least, I think that's how it was.
