Jedi can somehow block massive sheets of flame with their lightsabers.

I haven't quite figured out how they can do that yet...

***Valcyn - Lt. Colonel Ryubushi [ONE] of the Empire (the Tank Maniac); Career Master Commando, Master Carbineer, and extremely Anti-NGE.
***Eclipse - Ryushidosha, freelancer; Scaley Master Carbineer, ranger, merc for hire, and general sociopath...that despises the NGE.
***StarSider - Ja'ahn Woo [PYRO] of the Alliance - The Galaxy's first Jawa commando/carbineer...who also hates the NGE.

People like me...because I force them to...with violence!

If you manage to hit them though, You have the potential to have a 1 shot incap, esp if its a health hit, and you warcry them as soon as you hit, then peace. so they can't heal the damage before the fire dot ticks.

Agreed. Cant figure out how a lightsaber can repel a gaseous mass of flame...Maybe they suddenly take out a blanket and cry under it, then come out and attack, but the model just doesnt show....

What gets me is... if you attack an NPC and they block the attack, the flame dot still sticks, doesn't it? Not so fora Jedi.

I have better luck sticking a flame dot if I am targeting a "friend" of thiers close by and using flamecone2 than i do targeting them directly. Of coure, if anyone manages to get a KD on them I always get the flame to stick (if i don't just plain -miss-).

Simple: They turn it into a laser beam right before it hits they flamethrower and deflect it. How they change massive amounts of heat energy into light energy? Do the devs care?

Don't you just love SWG physics?

*applies to become the new physics correspondant*

Seriously though, it'd be nice if the devs made some weapons which are unblockable by saber blocks, ie: grenades, acid stream weapons, explosive weapons, flame emitting weapons... Need I go on? We could become the jedi killing profession! Not that the devs would allow it, despite the evidence of Mace Windu getting his cape burned to a crisp by Jango Fett...

I am totally with you guys on the whole blocking flame thing. This is something that needs to change.....

i also propose Jedis cant force run for an endless amount of time... by this I mean shorten the force run... especially while in combat. Just an extra added thought.

Ya, I have a whole long winded story about my jedihunting days as a commando, but I won't recount them again =P

Really, you guys put it perfectly: if it hits, it's brutal; most of the time it won't. Grenades are interesting, but I would have a team to back you up if you wanted to try any of this. They can distract the jedi and give you time to lob nades!

on the dot landing:

there's two dots in this game, dot weapons and weapons which give a dot with a special.

for the first type the dot has a chance of landing unless you miss (so when it's blocked it might still land...depending on the potency roll)

second type, as it's dependant on the damage REALLY needs to damage the target to initate dot. this type of dot is the flamespecials for the FT and Torsoshot from BH pistols.

and if a jedi runs, don't change weapon, just let the FT autoattack...Still nice damage it lands....pretty fast and 64m range

Need force run to be like in other games. Having it activated slowly drains your force.

Not really fair to Jedi that don't have force run when their opponent just runs away when they start to lose a fight.

Aye, and against regular, good ol-fashioned block the DOT sticks. But the game seems to treat Saber Block as a "Miss", so we get no love.

Edit: Of course, after I posted this and re-read it, I understand. Jedi's only defense versus a ranged fighter is Saber Block. If Flame DOTs stuck through Saber Block, then a Commando's Flame would be a death sentence.

Go easy on me... I haven't even made it through one cup of coffee yet! *yawn*

The good ole TK/Commando combo would work well against Jedi. The TK Knockdown followed quickly with a switch to flamethrower, and finish with the flamesingle2. I think that combination has the potential to work great against Jedi...assuming you can get close enough to melee fight the Jedi w/o saberthrow knocking your a$$down.

Has some of the more experienced TK/Commando combo folks had success with this? Can the Jedi get up too quickly to 'switch and burn'? Do you need to throw a Stun/Dizzy/Intimidateon top of the KD to make it more effective? Just throwing some ideas out there besides the standard "How the fu*k can Jedi block a flaming stream of gas?".

EDIT: Fixed some poor typos, typing with wookiee paws is tough, y'know.
