Hi, I'm just a novice commando, with 1 box of flame thrower line filled. I find that grinding HW XP is very hard, because of the flamethrower in accuracy and long special reload. Anyone can give me a good tip on grinding HW XP? I tried launcher pistol, with not much better result, and it decay fast too.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanx!

Best way I found in the beginning is to rely on your Launcher Pistol...and Get Novice Pistoleer (healthshot2)...and finally, group with a pet or droid (group xp bonus).

First group with a pet or droid...if your mount knows group, use that...and make sure you get the pet to stay so it doesn't engage in batter (so it doesn't get hurt and you get all the damage xp)...you get a bonus on your xp for the kill...think of it like 500 xp non grouped or 700 xp grouped...which is better?

Even if you don't plan on ending up with any Pistoleer skills, get it in the beginning...make a macro for /healthshot2; /healthshot1;

This will put a nice bleed on any critter and you can do the rest with just LP power...and since the LP is a commando weapon, it gives Heavy Weap XP.

I also use to use my LP or just a FWG5 to put a set of bleeds on a critter, then switch to the Flame Thrower and hit a Burn Dot (or stack a couple of Burn DOTs)...the combo will help take down bigger beasts and will help compensate for all the misses.

As for what to kill...I suggest finding Kaadu's or Harvest Spiders...not a huge amount of XP, but they spawn a large volume, and only Male Kaadu's will mob you, females you can take one on one...

Using these techniques I quickly got to Flame3...once there, your accuracy will be much better and you can use the FT much more...you will also be able to well stack Burn DOTs to help take down bigger critters for better XP...The Flame Tree should be the first one you complete, leave the other's for after that...And you can always switch to the LP to place the Bleeds and not have any delay in shots as far as I know...

Once you have enough Heavy Weapons XP (at least to get Flame4) you are then cool to drop Pistoleer if you want as you'll find yourself mainly using your FT to gather the rest of the Heavy Weapon XP...

Hope this helps...

If you can get a group of friends to help, you can go to the "Warzone" as I call it on Corellia. Since you are a rebel, you can help the rebels defend an outpost against imperials. AT-STs do spawn so make sure to bring a doctor that has revive. I find that I get around 1500-3000 heavy weapon xp per ST I kill (using flamesingle1) I earn around 150,000 xp per hour there.

Oh, I forgot. I don't know the coordinates, but it is north of Bela Vistal near the lake on the eastern side of the map.

Well, I did the ever shady take CH just enough to use a GSP and used it as a shield, then take a droid. Group with the droid and not the pet. Send pet in first, make sure what your going to attack is focused on the pet befor you attack. Use this on torturs on talus. Once I got flame 4 I shot through heavy weapons 1 and 2 in 3hours total. Dont forget to take batteries and food with you.

Another helpful thing is to get a custom job from a weaponsmith on a FT. Have em experiment on accuracy. If you can trust em its better so you know they are using good materials cause that makes a big diference. Then get sliced and hope fr a speed slice which I noticed seems to always happen for my FT's then you might inovertantly get more accuracy in there as well. Dont worry if you dont get the most powerfull FT right now cause at novice acuracy and speed is more helpfull.

get yourself a mountain krevol, go to endor, get missions with Bolle Bol, Swirl Prong, or Boar Wolf. Send in the pet...mop up. I went from novice commando to master in 1 week doing this.

The best way that i have foung to get Heavy weapon XP is to go to the dquill cave on Tat. I got to grenader in like six runs trough it. but other that that just get in a decent sised group and get some highe level missions, with your flame single you will get at least 1k plus a kill.

commando is one of the easiest elite/hybrid professions to master imo. Heavy Weapons exp is very easy to get because you do a great deal of damage and even a novice commando can drop creatures that give you 3k exp per kill with much ease

I just started commando about 24 hrs ago and I havent played that much but I have 3 skills in flame and 1 in field, close to the second. Its very simple. Kill defilers 3kto 4k per defiler + 3k lair = ATLEAST 21k xp+ 20k credits per mission

It takes 1 friend or anyone on dath to group with you + mauler + probot
then just look for 20k missions those are the defiler missions

Thats how I do it and get richat the same time. Just think it only takes about 50 missions to get 1mil cred and about 1.05 mil xp I will have loads ofXP and money by the end of the week. Sometimes the defilers spawn 3.. or sometimes give nearly 4k xp it varies. Only hard part is getting Combat XP for the left column. If you don't know a lot about defilers I will give you a tip, when milking the lair don't shoot until the secondone is on your pet. and once you have cone1 you can hit both defilers at once, by the time you kill off one with flame the other will be 75% dead.

I used /bodyshot2 with my LP untill I had flame 2, then I switched to a Flmethrower. Keep at the flame line untill you hit 4. It will be alot easier to fill in the others after you have flame filled in.
