"Though the Mandalorian supercommandos were wiped out by the Jedi Knights, Jango was one of the few left to still wear the armor. "
It is a common misconception that Mandalorians are BHs. No, they are mercinaries. Any fighting profession can become a mercinary. I've seen threads on this board just like on the BH board: "unlock new elite commando class". As it is several proffessions can wear Mando armor. BHs, Commandos, Rangers. What we need is a Mandalorian Warrior proffession that can become unlockable by any of the proffessions that can wear Mando armor. If all the BHs, Commandos, and Rangers all get behind this idea, Devs will listen. Support the Mandalorian Supercommandos.

I replied to a different thread also from BH001 about this idea, and I still love it. There are plenty of ways to get around continuity issues..
The only question I have about it, is how its faction will be handled. Jedi can be lightor dark... Mandolorians on the other hand, were always bad for the most part. So... if that were the case, would this condemn them to Imperial only? Or maybe a seperate Mandolorian faction? If so you couldnt fight in the GCW versus rebels and imperials.
So, I guess if it was done.. it would just be a remaining Mandolorian (Boba Fett maybe?) to teach you the skills, and tools of the mandolorian trade. That way you can keep your faction.
But the BIG puzzle to solve with implementing this.. would be how to make the normal professions enticing enough, to where people wont all flock to Mandolorian Supercommando, and Jedi. Better yet though.. to keep everyone different, the Mandolorian Supercommando skill tree could change depending on which of the skill prerequisites you took. Say, if you took Commando, then your personal Mando tree would include Heavy Weapons specialization. Or, if you took BH, then more Pistol and Carbine moves... or if you did Ranger, then it might include a Cloaking Device (as seen on KOTOR) to fit with their camouflage tree's.
I guess I'm starting to hopelessly dream too much, but the point I'm trying to make.. is that before everyone starts bellyaching that were trying to ask for another Super class like Jedi, realize there are ways around all the problems. And I wouldntask for this to be more powerful, or evenAS powerful as Jedi.. because afterall, the Jedi DID win the war between the two.

I saw BH001 post this last week in the BH forums and pasted the idea here in the Commando Forum. Take a look.

it's also on Page 2 of the forum currently.

Um...I'm gonna have to go with your crazy on this one. On my server NOBODY has a full suit of Mando. Only ONE GUY has ANY, and he's about to get this third piece. So all that ur talkin about is really not realistic.

Mandolorians on the other hand, were always bad for the most part.
They were mercs....whoever paid them the most...Rebels and Imperials employed mercs all the time...
Also look at KOTOR...after the Mando Wars Canderous became a merc and was employed by a high payer (Davin).
Could even add special faction perks for mandalorians...heh

I disagree with this.
I dont think there should be a mandalorian profession.
instead commandos should get some special feature with Mandalorian armor.
be it the ability to make it stronger, be it being a master commando with mandalorian armor would give less encumberance.
whatever.

Since with the Path to becomming a Jedi is a bit more easier everybody and their uncle will be grinding for Jedi. I like this idea based on two things. 1) Allows people to spend a good deal of the Skill points in a single profession, thus, further defining their role as a profession. 2) It'll be, ina way, counter balance to Jedi. Jedi would still own us, but at least they will be a bit more weary of a character that has some Mandolorian Attributes. I have submited some ideas for this that would allow various professions to enhance their skills by, lets call it studying, the Mandolorians. I believe that it should be just as hard as becomming a jedi.

I disagree with this statement. In this Mandalorian class thread on the BH boards somone said there shouldnt be a class that can go toe to toe w/ jedi, so I'll tell you what I told him:
"Jedi's are Jedi's. There really shouldn't be a class that can stand toe to toe to them. To be able to beat a Jedi with a non Jedi should take a bit of cunningon the part of the attacker.
Not true, a Mandalorian can. Example: Jango Fett's fight w/ Obi-wan. No, he didnt go 'toe to toe' but it was a fairly close quarters fight were Jango was taken by supprise and didnt have time to 'plan it out ahead of time' as it were. He was simply skilled enough that he almost killed Obi-wan. Another example: Jango vs. Master Trebor. Jango was more than a match. Now, a final example is Mace Windu. Very poor showing. But in Jangos defense, Mace is 3rd most powerful w/ a lightsaber(1st being Yoda, then Dooku. Yes, it actualy said Yoda AND Dooku were the only ones that could best him in Mace's databank entry at starwars.com)
But the point is, a 2/3 ratio is VERY good for a non jedi vs a jedi, and it proves that there actualy SHOULD be a class that can stand toe to toe w/ jedi: Mandalorians."

Didn't say we would stand Toe to Toe. But if a Jedi chooses to Engage someone with Mandolorian Combat skills then they should be ready to take some big damage.

Maybe I'm odd, but I don't really like this idea. I see why you're coming up with it, to stem the number of jedis, but I don't know that its a good idea to just have another "super" class to make everyone else inferior.
Also, there's some problems with the whole "Mandalorian" thing. You might be able to pull some "elite warrior" thing, but not Mandalorians.
Thing is, you can't just *become* a Mandalorian anymore than you can become Japanese. They're a group of people that share a common heritage and culture, descended from the original ones that lived on Mandalore and its colonies and such. To be a Mandalorian, your parents have to have been Mandalorians.
They're also supposed to be almost as rare as jedi. But probably one of the most important points is (unless I'm greatly mistaken), Mandalorians are human. There simply is no such thing as a Rodian or Bothan Mandalorian, because they're a completely different species, and you can't offer a super elite combat profession to a single species, regardless of how common it is.
