Thread: Took down a Gorax on TC-Ep3

First let me start out with what cl this beastie was. He was a cl 300 creature and even I didn't think we would take him down. The first group was a rag tag group of3 commando's, 3 melee's, 1 rifleman, and a doc. We all got killed the first round after we got it down to about 1/4 health. One in the groupgave up so I had only one other person in the area that would help. A Creature Handler. This will prove to all that CH's are a viable profession now. His 2 pets, a cl 22 bocat and a cl 46 rancor, did a great job of tanking this behemoth. When we were taking about 18k per hit, his pets were hit for 500 or so. They gave us enough time to heal up a bit and continue with the attack with him regening too much. After the slight rest, we quickly dispatched him. Now for the loot. We got 5 199 max damage -0.71 speed shards off of this guy. Not sure if it is enough for a FT or a PFT on TC but I will find out soon. If you want to see these shards they will be in the newly opened Cantina in Twin Suns. Still needs some decoration but I figured I could use that to help start it up.


This also proves that with a little teamwork, andhaving people that know thier professions can overcome even one of the mightiest if not the mightiest creature on the server.

Shards can't be used in FT's nor PFT's (They take power handlers, so krayt). A few nice Launcher Pistols can be made with those though! Wait till we get the advanced LP's out in TC...

Btw, can see it now - SWG is going to become Pokemon! We're reliving the nightmare...

Heh, Im guessing the damage modifiers aren't in place (or will ever) for pet vs pet...so if a gorax was hitting that guy's pets for 500...well thats MORE than enough to hit in combat isn't it? Six hits and you're toast. Add in a few powerful special moves that could be used sparingly, and you got yourself a gorax that would only be possible to kill IN a group.

Rather than needing an entire new group system to get that thing doable by an 8 man group. And, have things balanced and less restricting in PvE....which is the only reason the dmg modifiers are even there, ironically. Theres no way we can get 150% buffs or 80% armour anymore...and without those damage modifiers only cause more inbalance (or at least unfun gameplay).

Hey, don't piss on the CH - they need some love too!


As long as they eventually put something in to keep large creatures out of cities to reduce lag, I don't see a problem.

as an Ex-MCH and one who lived through the 'nerf' of 2003 (now a commando for the last year), all I can say is YAY creature handlers.....

they (alongisde Commando) are the most long suffering bunch around and its great if they actually get something out of this - -I for one will be right in thier corner cheering for them.

one point though...PLEASE PLEASE dont use the P***mon word - its the one thing that REALLY annoys creature handlers - -and rightly so in my opinion.

unless its been fixed, there was a bug where pets were not taking damage, I hit a gorax with a lantern bird lol.


As far as I know its still like that in many areas and with many pets, right now this does'nt really prove much other than the game is buggy as heck

Just saying...I just got a feeling we'll be seeing the P-word (never really used it myself) if pets don't have damage modifiers applied to them hehe. Then the DEs screaming because droids wouldn't be useful and etc etc.

Honestly, they just need to take out the damage modifiers and we'd all be happy...

I think we're going to be seeing the C-word (canceled) if they don't correct the damage multiplier. I've gone through a lot with this game, but that's really the straw that's going to break the camel's back. It's as messed up as the slidy-physics were with JTL beta (which up till now was the only thing that ever made me even consider canceling my account).







That is exactly the way I am feeling atm. C-word is in my mind only for the second time due to the damage multiplier and the fact that I hate grinding so much and will have to do so with the respec because of master marksman. (first being the sliding physics of JtL as well)

With the GCW the way it is, some of the CHs need to have pets out because we can't pull them once we're in combat. They should do something to minimize the lag due to the inceased number of graphics, but not restrict pets from cities. We (CHs) don't advocate no PvP in the cities and that lags me far more than a rancor running loose...

from a MCH on live and on test, it is nearly impossible to get the pet to tank (the hate system) beofre you go spouting pokemon stuff take look over there, were not too happy.
