Thread: The Imperial Crackdown, commandoes, and issues in general
I consider it a stealth nerf to commandos. We depend on weapon slicing imho, usually speed, but sometimes damage. Fora quiet life we'd have to make a hell ofa sacrifice being without a sliced ft.
Our player city is just north of Moenia, Naboo. We placed here for just this reason. PvPers hangout in Moenia and grief noobs all the time. Once thispublish goes in i expect the forced pvp of the "crack down" will drive many to become either Imp or neutral and many of the rebels inMoenia will be driven to Mawcityto use our cantina and othercity services since Moenia will become a much more dangerous place.

Personally, I think the IDEA of the scanning deal IS to drive players out of the regular cities, and into player ones....But I do agree that it is forcing players into PvP. But, at the same time, if you never want to engage in PvP, dont declare to one faction or the other. I can already hear the crafters griping about it, BUT, being an artisan who happens to be rebel (covert or not) should not be without risk. I cant imagine a Stormtrooper drawing up on a Rebel and not shooting because he was an architect with no fighting skills. Screaming "But I am an architect!!! Dont shoot!!!" wont do a bit of good, as well it shouldnt. Every crafting class can learn a little combat skills.

I have no problem with risk being associated with joining a faction, but right now, its going to be abused. Just wait and see.Plus, its not stormtroopers that will do the killing, its going to be other players.
Well for the most part the scanning teams will take place out in the wild, so its unlikly that someone will be able to camp noob waiting for them to be teffed. As for the shakedowns in cities the posts point to them only taking places in 3 cities and in the cantinas there. So just avoid those cantinas and people will be ok.
I'll try to find the post that says in a few minutes.
Funny I thought everyone was supposed to have fun since we all pay to play. And to a previous comment, I was fiddling around on TC 2 nights ago and got scanned twice within 200m of Dearic, Talus, so "in the wild" is a subjective term.
let us have our fun till we all get wasted
It is impossible for everyone to have the same amount of fun because people have vastly different oppinions of what is fun. Some people in fact can only have fun when other people aren't(griefer geeks,rp nazis).
The only faction jumping I've heard of due to the crackdown is a lot of my Imp buddies thinking of going Reb cause it's actually gonna require effort now. I know I personally am sore tempted to take my extra points and put em into smuggler and switch sides. The idea of sneakin into town with my sliced flamer, walking right through a scan team, and then setting somebody on fire(okay I would prolly miss them and get hella owned by some rifle/fencer/tk punk but thats a different thread)and high-tailing it out just ahead of the ATATs is awesome imo.
Right now joining the rebs is just joining the zerg.
