A I M E S Dissapointed in the latest patch notes tho...still nothing on AoE...
According to the descriptions, and from experimentation, we do have a single-target weapon: Rocket Launcher. OK. It's really wimpy compared to the old one, but it DOES do KD and if you can switch to another weapon quickly enough, the critter might even stay down for a second.
It's IS annoying that KD twice will Knock UP instead...uh...wait, that didn't come out quite right. But you know what I mean.
I picked up Master Carbs for single targeting. When the lair thins out a bit, I switch to heavies. I find the safest one to use is the HPBC. It's rare you get critters lined up in a nice, neat, straight line from where you're standing, so it's almost a single-target weapon. My guildies say it looks like I'm doing brain surgery with it. Lightning Beamer is a horror for aggroing mobs. Acid Streamer everything seems to resist. HAR (poor misbegotten HAR) blinds me no matter how far away I am.
Oh, where did the Proton Rifle drop? Quest?

Screw the proton rifle. Go get the ARC Clone rifle and kick butt. +10 heavy weapon speed and +10 heavy weapon accuracy does nothing really for the master commando.
Same stats and less action cost per special. Easy quest to do as well, not the imbecilic jedi cyborg freak the proton riflerandomdrops from.

It doesn't look better to me, the Clone Trooper Rifleand the Proton Rifle both have base 270 dps.

I have the DC 15 rifle. You get it from Boba fett inside Jabbas palace. He gives you the option for a carbine or rifle. So play on your 2nd profs strengths. I'm master comm/master rifles and I love the dc 15. Better than my t21. I got it sliced and it does over 500 dps. Nasty wepon and cool effects.
