I'm a novice commando and will be looking to use rocket launchers heavily at a certain point for... special... purposes (hint, I'm also a BH heh).
Anyway, I am well aware of the cost of rockets at vendors -- my questions is can anyone tell me exactly what resources are needed to make them? I'm just curious to see what makes them so agonizing for smithies to build, I may also start collecting some myself for smithies to build me my own launchers as well. Thanks.

Launchers cost as much as they donot because of some resources (well sure it need a tons of different ones but still) but because that it needed aprox 2h of factory time to make 1 lanucher.
Sure if you are WS whit like 6 factories running you can make them much faster but in most cases it is more profitable to make normal range/melee weapons

It dosent work man ranged weapons do not work on jedi. I know it sounds logical that they would, but they do not. You want to use the bomb droids Droid Engineers make. They are by no means perfect, but some time they are effective.

As a novice cammando - I beg to differ. Eating citrus snowcake (+40 accuracy), I fired 3 rockets a jedi knight at 60m that was fighting another rebel... 2 of the 3 rockets hit... the 4 other people shooting guns at him were never landing shots cus he kept sabre blocking.
Note, the2 rockets nearly killed the jedi too except that the bugger insta-healed using force.. sigh.
So please, unless you've actually fired rockets at a jedi knight that has sabre block, don't comment on the weapon and how it works --- you can build them no doubt, but you haven't a clue how to use them it seems.

As an aside to this post, what ideal range mod do your rocket launchers (ones you make, if you're a WS, or ones you buy if you're not a WS) usually have?

I made some of these the other day. They're a real pain to make, thus the added expense.

I use advanced scopes on my RL's as part and parcel of having learned a bit about them with my ex-master commando alt. i can't remember off hand, but I believe my to hit at ideal is +47ish or somewhere around there. Eating the accuracy food and kneeling at ideal makes for pretty good hits, and a worthwhile investment - especially if you're packing high end damage sliced RLs.

When I was Master Commando. My Rocket Launchers Hit Quite often, Never seen a Block shot, But, seen quite a few Misses. They Hit For average of 7k Damage. In PvP, if you can get two off Its normall Fatal. In Battlefield Situations, You can wipe out Loads of Enemies with it.. You can Miss the Main target and still hit everyone else in the area.
Now, as a Weaponsmith it takes alot of resources to make let alone Harvester time.
Rocket Launchers are Brutal. They can Kill anyone. But, the DOWN TIME SUCKS!!.

Did the 3rd one miss, or was it blocked? I heard that rockets couldn't be blocked. However, the buggers have been known to miss more than their share.

Has a gorax-krayt Rocket Launcher ever been made? Even though the weaponsmith would be crying throughout the crafting process, using all those shards
, has one been crafted?

I don't think so, I would never use one though. Even base krayt tissues are best used in weapons that have more than32 shots. i know a bunch of people that use them in flammers not for the extra 30 damage, but the -.3 in speed

You would need about 9 identicallly serialed numbered shards to be able to use them in a Rocket launcher. Since the RL's take 8 identical projectile feed mechs, it would pose a major problem getting that many. Personally I've only heard about people only getting one or two at the most.
