Gastiw attacksa picket longhorn with Advanced Reckless shot from Acid Stream Launcher and hits for 625 points (536 of energy damage and 89 of acid damage). Corpse of a picket longhorn's armor absorbed 108 out of 630 possible points of damage. No elemental damage is in fact done, only the energy damage

and they wondered why the code was commented out at FanFest.... probably because it was still broke T_T
I'm really hoping that my Flamethrower with 300-900 Energy and 100 Heat will work properly.
Ok I'm CL 58 at this point so here's how it should work. Normally I hit for about 450 against my targets, sometimes lower or sometimes higher depedning on Mob Level and other stuff I have yet to figure out. That's basically half of the max damage all the time. So I'm guessing that the Heat Damage will only tack on 50 more. So 500 Damage. So elemental won't be too worthwhile. However the LBC has 200 on average Lightining Damage so that means it will get an additional 100 damage on average.
So unless Elemental Damage is 200 or higher don't expect it to be very useful in making your weapon more powerful.
So even if it works, it's kind of lame.
I have another question though. Why is it taking them over a month to fix something AoEs which have been broke for quite some time.
Now AoEs are generally bad. However I can think of a few cases where I have been fighting multiple enemies and how it might have been useful in wiping them out. Yes I still would prefer real weapon specials since those in our weapons are so incredibly useless it's not funny. But the AoE especially fighting a mass of Consider Gray opponents could be very useful. I'd like some weapons with AoE and some with none. I also think the Specials in weapons need to be tweaked, to be more effective, cause honestly your weapons still don't do squat when using Ranged Shot thus meaning you still need Specials to do anything.
Anyways just my thoughts oppose to my rampage of getting us Specials to use, though I think that would be prefered, is unlikely.

Really makes me wonder how their whole internal design/coding process works... do they hire completely new people to code a tiny portion of the game and fire them in a month when it's done?
I wonder how well my 1K max dmg PFT with 126 elemental and 800+ max dmg with 200 elemental lightning beam will do, right now I love the attack speed with my SEAs as I can outdamage even a fencer but the damage output is bad.

Well according to many other testers, even though the elemental damage is added to the total damage in the combat spam, it is indeed NOT truly being added based on players observing the damage they take from elemental weapons.
For instance, if the combat spam says Mike hits Ben for 500 damage (350 energy + 150 elemental), then players are seeing Ben only being shot for 350 even though the spam says 500 ![]()
I didn't get to test a bunch before they took TC down last week, but in the cases I did try i was killing things caught in the PFTs cone. Don't know if the combat spam numbures matched the damage dealt, but as i reported in the earlier thread on these boards I was watching thigns take damage and groups of creatures all fall down dead with the same shot.
