Just wanted to throw this out there (not sure if it will mean anything) but I fully understand where this post is coming from and don't blame anyone for feeling the same way...
Before I saw the docs at the Summit I felt the same way...All we kept hearing was "it will be addressed in the Combat Revamp"...or..."Wait for the Combat Balance"...but we were never told any details about it or when to expect it...Everyday we all were begging for any little detail...and I personally wrote many a rant both here and in the Correspondent forum trying to get even the slightest of info spilled...
I even suggested to TH to create the 19 Answers post in order to see if we could squeak out a few secrets (which we did), but unfortunately that has all but disappeared...It may start up again now that JTL is almost over, but who knows...
To be completely truthful, if I hadn't seen the docs and was still waiting to see them like everyone else, I too might be questioning my allegience to SWG...It's hard to keep justifying a monthly membership to a game and company that might or might not be addressing your concerns, feeling all the while like you are being kept in the dark...
When I came back from the Summit I had hoped that the Docs would be posted within days...Soon it became apparent to many that the docs weren't going up for obvious reasons (JTL)...I tried to drop as many hints as I could without violating the NDA for 2 major reasons, (1) so that the initial shock of some of the changes won't be as hard to accept and we'll be ready to discuss their impacts & (2) because I know it's gotta be killing a lot of folks to still be waiting...
I lot of us has serious issues with TH telling us we'd be happy after the Combat Upgrade because many folks didn't feel confident that TH really understand our Commando Issues and what this profession means to us...I hoped that by me confirming that we will indeed be happy with the Upgrade changes, that might help, but even that confidence can only go so far...
Basically what I am trying to say is that no one should feel guilty or bad about their loss of faith or level of mistrust...SOE is asking a lot of all of us...We've put a lot of trust behind them and the Combat Upgrade...
The saddest part is I know for a fact that the majority of you would feel so much different if you could see the docs...That's what I and others keep telling the Devs...All I can hope for at this point is that your wait isn't much longer...and in the mean time I'll keep trying to drop the hints that I can and digging for any info to share...

Thank you Garvin for your responces. Frankly I REALLY hope that you are right. I LOVE being a commando. I was pissed off like most people when the announced that they were delaying the rebalance/revamp/upgrade until after JTL. But i was willing to give them a chance.
Well JTL launches on wednesday and the 16th of Nov is about 2 weeks after JTL's launch. I expect that they would have released the"docs" by thenbut the DEV's don't have a great track record for keeping their word and their defination of "soon" is one that i would question. Sometimes i think they use a geologic time scale when they say soon.

Never have I read a truer post. Sure the game has "issues" with combat, but how about some "Starwars" content with the Galactic Civil War actally involved instead of going to a village of primatives to bid our time till something else comes along. I love this game but I am PISSED! I am past the loud and rant angry, this is now the silent angry.

I remember there was talk of a "trickle" of information slated to be released after the Summit.
I have always been at least somewhat optimistic. I have always based that on skill point expendature and combat experiance. We have cool effects and above all potential. But after so long...it's easy to get frustrated. I did a while back...but I did promise myself to see this thing through. I really didn't understand why there would not even be something basic...like the HAM change, be mentioned to at least throw us a bone to chew on. Just didn't seem right...after so much waiting and patience.
Well, I can't remember where, but Garvin explained that maybe if they released the docs before JTL...it may take away focus from it. That DOES make sence. Granted, I disagree with JTL being released before the ground game being..."upgraded"...but that's what happened and it would be foolish to spend resources on JTL and then delay it so close to release. We're gonna get those docs!
Someday, I'm gonna see them and we all are. It's been a while since we first heard of some type of Combat change. Wheter it be Balance, Revamp, or Upgrade. But instead of quit or take a vacation....I want to be a Commando who is around at that very moment. I hope that moment is very soon after JTL.
How long is too long? I guess it just depends. I see some of you give it a few weeks after JTL. I'm payed up till July so I'm gonna wait till late January or so...maybe more because I Know we have potential...
I've always said "Hang in there Commandos"...How long is up to you. But remember if you leave..once a Commando ALWAYS a Commando...and If I'm here, if we get fixed, and if you come back...I'll remember ya!

My account is paid though january. I just will not be playing it until they fix it. I will still be here reading and posting on the changes. I will be spending my time playing Halflife 2.

Might want to log in once every 6weeks or so, they set it up so that houses of folks who don't log in for more than 6 weeks have their property deleted.

I have decided that if they have not released the mythical "Upgrade Docs" By the 16th of November then i will be placing 6 months of maintance in all my houses.
Once that is done, i will stop playing until they have completed the mythical "upgrade/revamp/rebalance".
I chose this date because i preordered halflife 2 and it releases on the 16th.

I seriously hope they have them posted by then...TH is suppose to make some type of announcement early this week (maybe tomorrow) regarding the Combat Upgrade and hopefully the status of the docs...
I've heard some of the details of the announcement, but didn't hear if they'll have an update on the Docs...what I did hear (at least I hope this is what is in the announcement) has a lot to do with the Sandbox testing...

My last day is the 12th.
Im not paying to wait for a game to be fixed that should have worked right when i took it off the shelf.
Im not paying for a buncha "soon this and soon that"
All the professions i want to play are broken
Main thing is there's no content.
Corvette....DWB.....and a few crap themeparks
Theres no galactic civil war
This game is a disgrace to mmorpgs and starwars
Another thing that really gets me is that they should have fixed the ground game before JTLS...but then again its all about making money....and expansions make money, not fixes

I agree with poster, I already quit my accounts (have 2). Patience has been demonstrated by the community for a year, it is rather rediculous it is taking so long for them to say anything now. They are alientating some of there longest playing Vets (I have been here since day one, and was actaully lucky enough to play for an hour before it crashed out that day). But I am not waiting any longer.
Thanks Garvin, you have a very difficult job trying to keep the community here pacified, and censoring what you can tell us. For me, SOE just seems to be making poor managment decisions with almost everything they do with this game.

Structures only get deleted if the character has been deleted. If you unsubscribe w/o deleting the character, then your structures will stay for as long as they have maintenace or inactive character wipe (this wipe is every 6mos or more, right now is more). However, SOE does not guarantee anything to be there past the 90 day range.
