Man Am I glad I dropped Master Commando. I dueld a Commando last night. When he hit me with his flamespecial he hardly did any damage and I have only 60% resists composite. I felt bad for him, all that work, going Master Marksman, the dreaded unarmed grind, then the slow climb up the commando tree's. I dont know how anyone of you can remain a commando, this was the biggest nerf ever. There's no way in hell a commando can win a duel now. Eventhough im not a Commando anymore It's still my favorite profession, and I wont stop fighting for my fellow Commandos. Somthing has to be done, If I were you all I would go TK or elsewhere until we're fixed. Please ask yourselves, why should I remain a Commando? The profession is a joke now, you thought deuling in the Melee range was tough before, now it's suicide

The Devs ruin this game more and more everyday.

any single profession in pvp is a joke. you need to have more tricks in your bag if you want to hold your own.

I got several one hit incaps with FS2 last night. Best hit i saw in combat log was a 2200 hit on a rifleman/swordsman. Not sure what you're talking bout?

Something I learned a while ago, don't duel as a commando, you'll save either yourself a beating, or listening to some friggin whiner cause they got set on fire.

Minne_mee, the onlyway you would be able to get one hit kills now is if you were fighting an unarmored and unbuffed opponent. One hit kills against unarmored enemy pcs was possible pre patch too, this is not a new commando ability. Against any pc wearing decent heat resist armor and/or buffed the initial flame special damage, and dot damage is now laughable and worthless in pvsp.

Have you seen the heat resists AS's can put into armor...well guess what, they now work...that's what he's talking about...with even a slight amount of Heat Resist our initial how powered burst of any of our specials is pretty much reduced to minimal amounts...and now with a dampened DoT the NERF is complete...There are AS's on my server that can craft 70 to 80% Heat Resist Composite...Some good a pumped up /flamesingle2 will do against that...

I'm not saying Heat resists are bad...on the contrary, they make sense...but what doesn't make sense is for the NERF to us AND heat resists going into effect..it's overkill on us...leave us the same if Heat resists are working...there was no need to change but rather the Dev's should have spent their time focused on fixing our other weapons...

I Just went TK, and I win lots duels with it. Not everyone but almost everyone. And that's my only mastery right now.

(a bit of topic, but I'll bite)...as a TK, how would you say you win "almost" everytime versus a Pistoleer or Rifleman? How do you get them and keep them in range? Do you rely on KD hoping to get them on their back and keep them there? If they are past 20m fromyou how many of your TK specials do them damage? OR!!!!! for this type of thing MUST you rely on another profession (dabbling) to compensate for the shortfall that melee professions often have against Ranged opponents...I am also a TKM so I already know all the answers, but I want you to think about this...you profess that you win most of your PvP fights, but are judging yourself against ALL possibilities?

This is the case with Commando...we too have Melee range specials BUT we are a Ranged Class...So our specials are no good when someone is outside our 16m range...throw in Heat Resists and our UBER POWERFUL most feared Flame Throw is fairly weak...most people would say that we should then just use something like the HAR then...well those specials are also 16m and the weapon is STILL broken...how about the LP...well we have no skill mods beyond Marksman for our own pistol and NO specials of our own...how about the RL or other Heavy Weapon...well, they are consumable, they require that movement be stopped and put the user into a kneel (very vunerable) postition), they have very poor accuracy AND they can't be fired indoors...So that takes us right back to our one working weapon...the Flame Thrower...but I guess that can also now be put in the BORK'D catagory with the rest of our weapons...

Is the picture coming through?

I personally as a commando have done well in PvP, and from what i've seen so far this last patch hasnt hurt me much but I still need to find someone with high heat resists to fight. Most of who I have fought have been buffed, including a TKA of what level Im not sure but he at least had a dizzy KD so I believe thats balance 4 and he hit me for like 400 damage befor armor whatever level of power that is.

The TKA was a long fight in which I spent most my time on my back but I still won, the couple proffessions Ive had trouble with have just been Rifleman and BHs that got added pistol mods just due to the lack of ability for me to buff and being out of muon. Its not my commando that keeps me alive so long in PvP however. I still got precision striking 4 for defenses and balance 3 for melee mitigation 2, then I stay in cities in tight quarters most the time while overt to where if they want to engage me they gotta come in close but overall you just gotta know your weaknesses and know when your outclassed which for us its most the time.

Im hoping for oiur own abilities for the LP but in the meantime Im going to pik up the specials line and accuracy line in pistoleer, and meditate 4 then when defense stacking goes away, I'll pick up the speed line if using pistoleer ability hasnt gone away at that time also.

It is true that your combo of professions make all the diference, just right now the master commando part seems the weakest.

I don't PvP, and I think commando is a blast! (pun intended.) I wish I'd started out on this path a long time ago. I have fun on my own, fun in a group - it's just plain fun. I wish the HAR would be made useful or replaced, and the HAM/delay on grenades/cannons needs a lot of tweaking, but other than that it's great. I'm intent on mastering it once I'm done with CH (don't need it anymore) and then maybe pick up a bit of medic to keep me alive if my buffs/spice wears off.

If you're playing SWG for PvP, you're in the wrong game. PvP was not intended to be included originally and then when they did put it in, it screwed up all their balances. What's too powerful or not good enough in PvP is a completely different thing in PvE. That flamedot that all the warmongering PvPers bitched about and got "nerfed," (I've not noticed a difference, to be honest. Takes a bit longer to take something down, but I'm fine with that,) is hardly noticeable to most of the mobs in the game. When you're fighting things with over 100k HAM, it just doesn't matter a whole lot.

Can't beat a Rifleman, im dead in about 5 seconds, But any other class, all I have to do is get with in 15m, then hit unarmedLunge1 followed by a dizzy. At that point It's my duel to loose. But you're right TK works better with another class, but since everyone is melee now, those are the classes I duel against the most.

Uhh while youre intitled to your own opinion....I dont agree...this game is all aobut the PvP. its Star WARS Galaxies:An Empire divided. not Star kill a bunch of fuzzythings:An Empire of slaughter houses.

Star wars is all about war, and conflict.

Otehn than that I cant find any way to disagree with your post. Youre right for the most part....Commando is a blast, but even in PvE we have been severly nerfed, which is why im no longer a master...

Seishenoru Verin...gone on Febuary 22, Cyas guys...

you know what needs to be nerfed.... that **edit** armor everyone has!!! 80% RESISTANCE!?!?! WHATS UP WITH THAT!? Damage is SEVERELY cut down with that. Wookies are the only ones who can still be beaten with raw strength and not powerups and money( buying super weapons) and DOT's. FIX THE SUPER ARMOR!!! (composite)
