Just something I'd like to share...
Yes...I'm heavily biased, but I honestly think I am the Correspondent for the Best Community on these Forums...
Lets be honest...as professions go, the Commando profession is pretty gimped right now...it's like riding a horse that is missing 3 legs and having someone tell you how strong that one leg looks...So, as do many other professions, we have a lot to be upset over...
And repeatedly over and over we've been told to wait, but then had to deal with disappointment when things got postponed...
We've seen many good Commandos give up and walk away...And for the most part, many of us felt that we couldn't blame them...
We have every right to rant and rave with the best of them...we also, as a communtiy have every right to be distrustful of the upcoming revamp, especially when the Correspondents can't yet fully share information...
But here is where you all make me so proud...When I returned from the summit and reported what little I could, for the most part, you all saw that there may be a shining light...You accepted (may have not liked it) the fact that I can't share everything just yet...and you all are keeping some positive hope for our future based on my word...It makes me feel great that you trust in me that much...
The reason I write this is I've been surfing other communities lately...several of them have seen their share of ranters and flamers...some even heavily flaming their own Correspondent along with the Devs because of the lack of information at this point and the level of frustration. Reading some of the other "Back from the Summit" posts I see that a few have erupted into flames and accusations. Some have been so nasty that people ended up banned. Not all communities are this way, but some have turned down right nasty...
And then I come back to my community...a community that has every right to be just as disappointed and frustrated and I see hope...I see postive discussions...I see people who have been overly patient willing to keep being patient...
Those who know me know I play this game as a Commando...I have been a Commando from the start and I'll be a Commando when this game ever goes offline...I have dealt with the lows, then highs, then lows again of our profession...I'm right in the trenches with you all...I want my gameplay to work...I want Commandos to work...and I wouldn't accept any BS from the Devs...So I'm glad when I tell you that we have a lot of good things coming, that you all accept my word on that...I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it...
So again I say it...This is the best Community any Correspondent could ask for...you all deserve some serious credit for your maturity and acceptance...Everything good that we get we more then deserve, not only because we are hurting, but because of all of you...
Just wanted to thank you all from the bottom of my heart...sorry for the long post...just something I had to get off my chest...

Seriously, I really love this board. I didn't post very often b4 I came here because I didn't like all the flaming wars that I saw in other boards. The people here are great! Very very mature and open minded. Also, you deserve ALOT of credit too Garvin. Although you can't give us specific details, I was really impressed with how you communicate ideas, get us involved, respond to others and accept the few flamer posts with maturity and ease - before and after the Correspondent summit. It's because of this, that I've made this board my homey board.

Yep this is my home board now. As a Bounty Hunter refugee I find it very informative and downright friendly. Heck hope for the future has even put me back on the path to regaining Master Commando.Good forum,good people. What more can you ask for?

Lol, you can say that again. Last nite at Tusken Fort I Flame Single 2 a Tusken Captain. While waiting for the delay timer to finnish, A TKM comes up and kills the Captain. This all before I can fire again AND there was one DOT tick. Result, kill steal. My damage was approx 14,000 with one shot -- TKMs total DMG over 15K . 
Well, garvin this group is good because we have a great correspondent. Keep up the good work.

Garvin, it is all because of you. We know and trust you not to screw us. We know that you will fight as hard as you can for us. So we respect you and would not flame you for something we know is beyond your control. On another note, your hard work is the reason i am still a Master commando.

IMHO, i think a lot has to do with that fact we are true players, not power gamers. we truely love the game and love the profession no matter how sad the one legged pony is. Commando had lost its power long ago so the power gamers left. I find a great deal of them whinners and abusers. The people who are here truely have a vision and a dream of what commando should and could be.
Our biggest flamer on this board makes me think and laugh, not once did i have the urge to flame him. Most flamer post i stop reading after the first flame, but here, i like to see how it all turns. Never seen anyone get out of hand or out of line here at all.
This board does have a mature group, and that is definatly something we can be proud of.
I also belive Garvin post a lot more than other corrospondits because of the major decrease of flames here. I honestly would post a heck of a lot less if i was flamed constantly.
Keep us informed as much as you can get away with Garvin.

Id like to agree with this quote, and will...most of the true commandos and people who are great community members here as well as avid posters/advocates/great folks are NOT power gamers, but love this profession dearly.
Its nice after getting home after a long day and hearing this garvin . You yourself are avery special correspondant, and theres a strong bond between you and the community members here.

We stand together for Commando...and we always will.
Also too, we've had ALOT of ranting and flaming...more than our share back in 2003....the community really has evolved to new levels since then....something other profession boards will have to cope with in their growing pains....I feel this was mostly due to us being sorely broken for 2 months after launch, as well as being a 1 legged horse for so far the entire 13 months of SWG....very few professions are like this or were like this...

Mastered commandoa few months after start and have kept it ever since, but I see alot of commandos even the big commando names changing professions most often in favour of mastering BH to get some sort of PVP.
Ill also never change from commando as my main character, but I also played soldier in Anarchy-Online and it seems to me Devs just dont like soldiers
Hope we can expect something in the near future to make Commandos viable for PVP again.

There's not too many Commandos, IIRC, at this point. Everyone that's played the game knows how gimped we are. The older players who have stayed Commando so far won't be leaving anytime soon. If anything, of our small numbers, there's probably more new players... who don't know any better about us!

... forgot to add. Since I believe that there's not many of us Commandos, there's far fewer chances for us to /flamesingle2 each other. If that was the case, I'd use /flamecone2 liberally!

I agree with Star Nick and Kalano (Hope didn't miss spell nothing). See we are all commandos still cause we like explosions, flamethrowers, you know all that good stuff. The reason why are community is great is because we are not concerned with power we just want to have fun. However we find it hard to find fun when anybody else can do just about as good as any job as us. People are aways to obessed with power, and you can try to act as different as you want in-game, but characters in the game represent the people who are playing them more than we think. Those that want to be all powerful in-game heed these words all players in the game are meant to be equal, but each having it's own uniqueness in some area that makes it better than the other professions. There should never be one all powerful profession, template, or whatever, except for jedi, but let's not get into that. it's always nice to come to this forum and find good like minded people. It really makes a difference after a long day at school. I believe you Garvin, cause I've always been pretty much able to agree with you on most of our issues, and if you think things are gonna get better, than I believe you. I'll never give up on Commando, even when I leave the game.

LOL, thanks for the loving garvin... hope is a strong motivation; impressive that we have been able to hold on this long. but as other people have said, you are a very level-headed and damned good correspondent and even take the time to respond to our PMs.
