i've got to agree with this... Garvin is definately the best corrispondent i've seen..

Garvin:

Its one thing to be the news bringer, the correspondant for a bunch of disgruntled players (because seriously, we wouldnt be here if we enjoyed the game as it is now), and to do everything a correspondant does.

BUT...

You stick to your guns. You say something, and you dont waiver, buckle, or fold. you dont quit, and you dont lose hope.

SOME OF THE GREATEST LEADERS IN THE WORLD HAVE YET TO MASTER THIS!

It's the mutual respect on both sides of this relationship that make commandos a rare breed, and thats why i think we make this forum work better than some other groups.

as far as our playing? i would jump to say that 90% of the people who became commandos when they started this game have retained it in the hope of something better. no senseless hologrinding or jedi uber player wanna be's. We all chose our side back then, and much like our correspondant, have remained steadfast against weaker and weaker odds. its that that makes this victory of the Combat Rebalance all the more rewarding.

we know that when you can tell us everything, we wont be disapointed.

Fellow Commandos: Now, more than ever, we should look and plan for the future. our door is finally opening, who knows what else might come through if we ask?

DAMN IM PROUD TO BE HERE.

is it sad when you hang out on the forums more than you actually play?

Yes...I'm heavily biased, but I honestly think I am the Correspondent for the Best Community on these Forums...

Lets be honest...as professions go, the Commando profession is pretty gimped right now...it's like riding a horse that is missing 3 legs and having someone tell you how strong that one leg looks...So, as do many other professions, we have a lot to be upset over...

And repeatedly over and over we've been told to wait, but then had to deal with disappointment when things got postponed...

We've seen many good Commandos give up and walk away...And for the most part, many of us felt that we couldn't blame them...

We have every right to rant and rave with the best of them...we also, as a communtiy have every right to be distrustful of the upcoming revamp, especially when the Correspondents can't yet fully share information...

But here is where you all make me so proud...When I returned from the summit and reported what little I could, for the most part, you all saw that there may be a shining light...You accepted (may have not liked it) the fact that I can't share everything just yet...and you all are keeping some positive hope for our future based on my word...It makes me feel great that you trust in me that much...

The reason I write this is I've been surfing other communities lately...several of them have seen their share of ranters and flamers...some even heavily flaming their own Correspondent along with the Devs because of the lack of information at this point and the level of frustration. Reading some of the other "Back from the Summit" posts I see that a few have erupted into flames and accusations. Some have been so nasty that people ended up banned. Not all communities are this way, but some have turned down right nasty...

And then I come back to my community...a community that has every right to be just as disappointed and frustrated and I see hope...I see postive discussions...I see people who have been overly patient willing to keep being patient...

Those who know me know I play this game as a Commando...I have been a Commando from the start and I'll be a Commando when this game ever goes offline...I have dealt with the lows, then highs, then lows again of our profession...I'm right in the trenches with you all...I want my gameplay to work...I want Commandos to work...and I wouldn't accept any BS from the Devs...So I'm glad when I tell you that we have a lot of good things coming, that you all accept my word on that...I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it...

So again I say it...This is the best Community any Correspondent could ask for...you all deserve some serious credit for your maturity and acceptance...Everything good that we get we more then deserve, not only because we are hurting, but because of all of you...

Just wanted to thank you all from the bottom of my heart...sorry for the long post...just something I had to get off my chest...

I said it before and i'll say it again.....

wOOt! Rock on Garvin! And the rest of the Commando community as well. Ours is comin.

Odd isn't it?

Commandos live by the flame, we cherish the flame.....And yet, we flame the least....

You know, my PA, recently packed their bags and left Bria for Chimaera. First time EVER, I actually planned on being something else than commando. 2 hours later and alot of testing in a character skill generator.....And I realised I had been putting MCommando on every template I made.

So...Again, this old 1 legged warhorse, is again mastering a commando. 6th or 7th time I master commando..Lost count.

Currently have 3 characters left after deleting those I never played...

Wanderhome: MCommando/TKA

Bria: MCommando/MRifleman

Chimaera: Commando/Rifleman (still alot of work left..)

We're all fruitcases. Devs should arrange for cheap trips to the looneybin for all us commandos. No way in heck a sane person can keep up with what we have survived, and still go on strong.

I've noticed that myself. As far as the community goes, I think we had an accelerated maturaity growth rate. We got all the flames out our systems around the times of patch 7 and the CB delay, so we've nothing left but to look up and hope for the future.

Heh, it's kinda funny really. Of all the professions I've mastered, commando is the only one I've really attatched to. Heck, I don't actually have any commando skills right now (MTKA MBrawler MMarksman, and some pistoleer) and I don't even bother checking out the other class forums, hehe. It's true when you say this is one of the best communities out there. I've been through a lot of the others, and few of them even come close the level of commraderie and positive attitude that can be found here (pistoleer comes close sometimes, but overall they're way too pessimistic and don't post nearly as many revamp ideas/new concepts.)

And whatever you think about this board, we can all relish in the fact that it's not he GCW forum. I feel really sorry for J3ster... talk about a tough crowd.

thanks dude. just wanna say i am fairly new to the commando profession, (this being my second temp on this character) but i rlly like it. The community on this board, more than anything, makes me want to stay commando just to see how well it does, and so i can continue to surf this board knowing good things are being said with responsible wisdom that seems to be rare for the boards. Good correspondence and GL to all my fellow Commandos in the future, wherever it takes us.

I was completely torn between BH and Commando. I love the fire and explosives but you know those NPC BH missions are really kinda fun if you RP them.

Anyways I spent a grand total of one evening as a MBH, soon after I got my second account and went straight M Commando/M Smuggler.

It's this board brought me back to commando so fast (you guys ever read the BH board??)

Your proud of us Garvin? Hell, We're proud of you. We couldn't ask for a better Corr.

PS Anyone else scared SOE will want to hire him and steal him away from us commandos? hehe =)

You know why...

Wehave a good correspondant who we know isn't afraid to flame the devs when they are doing bad things... We know that if things had gone sour with SOE, we would have seen the headquarters burning on the 5 p.m. news.

I attribute my calm to my confidence in our great correspondant.

so can you HINT at what changes are comming? I really miss commando, but I've gotten so used to rifleman, and not being a gimped class. I wish commandos could be brought back to what they were in the golden days.
