Well . . . . at least he didn't want the NPC entertainers to be able to heal or buffs . . . .

I wouldn't like to see that only because of the lag. otherwise it's not a bad suggestion. Some of those cantinas haven't seen NPC or PC for months.

Mos Eisely is one of the most bustling cantinas NPC-wise, but it is also the laggiest.

I'd rather see cantinas turn into grave yards than have devs spending time making us more unnecessary

He didn't ask for usable entertainers... He wanted immersive decoration entertainers.

still it takes dev time to add those, dev time that would be better spent fixing us

If the devs were interested in spending time fixing us, it would happen.

Things like decorations though can be added without touching the source code. They just log into the game drop items they want to.

If the devs were interested in spending time decorating the cantinas, we wouldn't have only a few cantinas with a couple NPCs and the odd picture on the wall, and a lot of empty, cantina-shaped places. I still long for Coronet having a cantina on a top floor, overlooking the city, and the banking terminals within one of those huge buildings.

Indeed, cantina's should be multifloored like some of the medical centres (love the theed med centre). Not too keen on the idea of NPC entertainers in all the cantinas however. It reminds me of when they placed the NPC Bartenders in the major cantinas, that really killed the roleplaying value.

Ya know, I can't help feeling that he might have a point, based on a recent experience of mine.

I'm a dancer, amongst other things, and I was in Bestine recently and ended up dancing for a couple of people. I was the only entertainer in there. Now I know that by virtue of being an entertainer, I can play music but I choose not to for RP reasons and don't carry an instrument around with me. So I danced away with no music at all.

Having a (non healing, non buffing) background NPC band would have provided more immersion, that's for sure. But yes, as you so rightly point out, other things need to be addressed first.

Have you ever tried to really listen to the live band when the NPC one is playing in ME? Sometimes it makes my teeth hurt! No matter what, the NPC band can always be heard.
