hypothetically speaking, I would respond by directing you here

and emphasize that for me (as a smuggler/commando) the biggest issue is lack of AOE damage handed out and the great deal of aggro/hate that lack of damage generates anyway

1. DAMAGE!!!!!!! we need alot higher dps weapons.....how can we take on the mass aggro that the flamethrower brings on with a 310 dps


2. ATTACKS!!!! Please give us some speacial attacks. without them commando just sucks up ur skill points


3. AOE!!!!! change our AOE to 100% plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

In short better damage overall but more specific:


1) Better (Full?) AoE damage from weapons (currently it is elemental + 1).


2) Better variation of weapons at master level (especially more craftable weapons that takes enhancing loot as components, i.e. better damage).


3) Grenades more useful (currently they do very little damage (maybe around 90 to a CL80 creature), really no point in using them.


(I'd also like to make the devs consider removing brawler 4000 as prerequisite to something else (and thus removing melee mods from commando for something else))

The following are the 3 that I personally feel are the largest issues with Commando...



1) Broken AoE: The elemental damage +1 to all targets other than primary


2) Useless / Meaningless prerequisites: We have a melee pre-req, but our profession is geared towards "powering up" other ranged professions. The melee pre-req is a waste of skill points, to put it bluntly.


3) Grenades: See Commando Profession Top Issues thread for the story on this, and our many other broken aspects.


Now, don't go tempting our tummy with the taste of nuts and honey, and then not deliver...

1. Fix our "Role" as a part of Star Wars. Who are we? Are we the regular infantry grunt that carries the big gun? Or are we the Storm Commando, the SpecForce Infiltrator/Heavy Weapon specialist/Urban Combat specialist/Marine, the Mandalorian Mercenary Commando, the Shadowtrooper, aka Commandos of Star Wars.


2. Since 1 is a revamp, and cant be snapped, even if you snap your fingers so hard you break em, here's something easier: Where is our damage? Time since CU has proven that no specials for Commandos and specials built into weapons do not work. We're nothing but a weaponshifting maniacs(and with weak weapons to boot too), that in effect, leaves us behind in the field of combat. We need specials.


3. since 1 and 2 are heavy ones, and cant be snapped, even if you snap both fingers and toes till they break, here's something easier: Where's the AOE? Thats the only thing a commando has left of his arsenal, as we aint got the damage in our weapons...AOE is the only thing that can get our weapons a lil boost, despite the knowledge that 1 AOE can aggro everything within sight, whom then proceeds to eat you. But still, having a AOE that allready does that, but doesnt hurt the enemy, is even worse than having it "snap" fixed.



For easy reading:


If I could snap my fingers 3 times and get 3 things done to commando, or fixes:


1. A role for commando, that fits the name "Commando" and Star Wars lore and knowledge.


2. Specials for Commandos, not rely on weapons that due to low damage and CL, is obsolete and rather unusable against mobs once you master.(CL 70-80+)


3. AOE fixed, along with more options for singling out a mob with our weapons.

I know you guys get tired of repeating youselves..

But when a dev comes in here and asks you for 3 things, post 3 things. They dont always have time to go looking thur various threads. It makes no sense to me why anyone would sit back and make silly comments instead of jumping on the chance to have their 3 major problems possibly reviewed and addressed by the Development team.

Granted im not a commando, but one thing i seem to hear a lot of (and see a lot of problems with) is the lack of single target weapons.

1) Remove Brawler...for what good does it really do a RANGED profession.


2)It wasoriginally stated that Commando would be doing more if not equal damage as Rifleman being the elite Nukers in the game......./dramatic pause..... Make Commandos worthy of carrying the BIG GUNS!


3) Either do something special with grenades or remove them from the profession....perhaps put in aPlatform/Mounted GUN Tier. You know giving us the BIG GUN, but having to be ROOTED to use it. Reward Vs Risk...yea I can dish out a huge amount of damage...but I am a stitting duck...make us the RANGED DAMAGE THREAT we are supposed to be.


4) More weapons (launcher pistol....sigh...it stinks), and more Specials


5) Yea that was 4...I cant count.
