And what say we commandos?
I say, that we can't have Starnick argue this on the corr boards, without us giving him some feedback.
So, I say. Get the jedi out of the GCW, permadeath, if they wont accept "Elite" status.
Why?
Why should I want to have to fight Jedi, in a GCW that was fought by soldiers?
Why should I want to have to fight jedi, a proffession that by default are to be stronger than me?
Why should I want to have to fight jedi, when they are so many, they are starting to outnumber all the normal professions participating in the GCW alltogether?
Why should I want to have to fight jedi, when even Jedi don't want to fight jedi?
thats my stance.
Not counting my rather "This is Star Wars, follow continuity you goons!" harsh stance.

Or put it this way Pard..... Why so many Jedi/Dark Jedi.
In true time line there should be almost no Jedi both type would be afraid to show their faces because Vader would kill them both. We on Wanderhome have a good number of Jedi, that they make PvP no fun. When 1 jedi can take out 6-8 non jedis that is crap.

Of course it isn't going to change. Sony never does what the customers and players want.

here is the reason why it wont change
jedi get upset
no new jedi
who buys this game other than to be jedi?
i know i didnt but with episode 3 and etc.... i would sacrifice my smuggler revamp for a month so that the FS system is changed so i dont end up seeing 300 jedi in theed dueling

Heres what Ive been talking about in that discussion:
Having another "tier" is good. This would be great for everyone in the notion of:
Folks who want hardcore PvP (with jedi)
Folks who want classic rebels vs imperials (no jedi)
Folks who want to just PvE
Coverts
Now, in order to make this work - we'd need most likely "elite" bases, and allow Jedi to opt out (I know folks who are jedi powered, but dropped all jedi skills) - either allow jedi to drop everything and become "normal" and/or the jedi that can only participate in "elite" combat must have at least one skill box (not the novice initiate or whatever you can't drop).
And/or (rather than just new bases), include "areas of control", instances (such as fights aboard a star destroyer, basically "battlezones"), quests, etc. Stuff that makes elite PvP lucrative for non-jedi to participate, as well as seperate the jedi from the major conflict while also allowing them to have some impact. Basically, what Im imagining of this is like a bell curve.
"Classic" goes more towards planetary control. PvE counts less, but you won't be ganked. "Elite" is like PvE, but added content, jedi enabled, and some cool new zones (does not count as much, but still impacts, and furthermore...adds content). Classic would get the PvP bases as well as the battlefields that were turned off.
Goal: Make a system thats fun for EVERYONE.
By retaining the PvE tier...the PvE'ers are happy. Retaining "Classic" (current PvP), makes the Rebel vs Imperial only enthusasiasts happy. Bringing in "Elite" keeps the hardcore PvPers and Jedi happy as new content is introduced, new GCW "games"/"areas". Each tier gets a perk, and gives players a chance to play the game they like to play.
Edit: And to add into the mix of things. Have vehicular combat only in the "Classic" tier. Im not the biggest fan of Jedi (and its sad that not even jedi want to fight against Jedi), but what I am interested in is a system that evokes balance and fun for any player stepping up to bat.

That sounds like a great plan. the only concern that I have is that the "elite" sound like they'll be getting a great deal more new content than the rest of us. Just because I want nothing to do with J3di doesn't mean I shouldn't get cool new content too.

Thats what Im thinking too, there needs to be a balance where the classic folks don't get shafted, and where the elite folks don't get shafted either. Having a more variety of "GCW Games" available for elite players, and "arenas" seem suitable (enclosed battlezones), while leaving the massive free for all battlefields open to those who don't want to have jedi power on the field.
Sorta like a cross between jedi academy/battlefront II and the battle of Hoth. Both should offer different types of content.

IMO they should focus more on making Jedi wars between the light/dark happen behind the scenes and between eachother, rather than having them run around like war heroes in the clone-wars era. The occasional jedi cameo wouldn't be bad in the GCW, but there should be positive incentive to keep them out of the GCW... or negative incentive (such as visits from Vader...)

Jedi need to fight their own war plain and simple.
Rather then "Elite" it should be more like Light vs. Dark but I suppose the name could stay, though Elite just doesn't match up quite right. In this status there should be more to do with fihgting for the power struggle. This is the real War going on. I would almost say make it Non-Faction based, but your side is determined by who you are fighting for in the war strangely.
Anyway it should basically be another GCW. However there are no Bases. Maybe Shrines that can only be destroyed by Jedi, that essentially act as Bases or Temples. These have to be real hard to get, and very costly FP wise if we make it that way. It probably shouldn't be bought from Recruiters. Maybe the side that is winning the secret war is less likely to get attacked by random NPC Bounty Hunters or NPC Elite Faction Soldiers. Nova Troopers anyone?
Anways make it seperate. Give them their own war. I really don't see why the need so much. They already gets lots of cool stuff and power. Plus they can always fight as Combatant, which I think a lot of people are forgetting about.
I would like some areas, for normals like Classic Battlefields and areas like the Corvette for us. And then more secret Temples and Jedi stuff for Elite folk.
I really don't want to see Elite Bases, otherwise SF becomes the current state of Combatant, and Jedi will have the power of the GCW with their mega bases.
What Jedi really need is Light vs Dark war. With it's own rewards. Maybe they can get some fancy force enhancing stuff and gear. And like I said who ever is winning controls the mercenary forces which attack opposing Jedi. Be cool if say Dark was winning in control, and A Dark Jedi see's a Light Jedi and calls down some Elite Stormtroopers to kill em.
To be honest though. What really needs to be done is stop the Jedi population. And BHs ain't the way since it's basically how many times do we tick you off before you give up?
I say add Perma-Death. Leave everything else alone. Of course Jedi scream at that. But I came up with a real good Perma Death system SO LISTEN! First Perma Death does not delete your character. It just prevents that character from becoming Force Sensitive anymore and you lose all your skills. Really why is this so bad. You gave it you go, you died, you get a free character. That's a pretty big reward, and that damn second character is why we have so many Jedi. I would not whine. I was careless, but hey all my time weren't for nothing with this extra character and it was fun anywho.
But anyways. Your life meter or something is how long before you bite the big one. It starts at 100%. For every NPC/Creature Death you lose 10%. For every PvP you lose 25%. Every day you gain back 3%. It means Jedi can't jump into every damn battle and will pick and choose and have to be extra careful. They will have to watch their visibility and stay out of view. Jedi will have to act like Jedi. And honestly if you die every 4 days from AI that's kinda lame, but you still slowly gain with the extra 2%. So it means jedi have to think and hide. With this I say Jedi can no longer lose Skills or XP. Also when a Jedi dies any Bounty Hunter missions on them must be terminated, and they must be set to On-Leave status. However if they are rezzed they lose no XP or any percent of their life meter since their status does not change. I know this means every Jedi will now probably have a Doctor friend but hey that really isn't so bad. And there's no way Jedi can have a Doctor always with them. So we will see those using Jedi as FOTM Template go bye-bye and people who really want to be Jedi remain Jedi and receive less negative attitude. At the same time we live up to more of what Jedi really should be at this point in time, which is rare powerful beings, that are very elusive.
I'd rather see this. And I think the real Jedi would too. I wonder how many real Jedi are left? It'd be nice because we'd almost be setting them free from this stupid Jedi Master of the PWN crap.

Oh well at least this Elite PvP would be better then what we have now, I think. Though it's really not a solution.

I have said it before and I will say it again. The best, most simple solution to all of our problems is making it so that jedi can ONLY ATTACK NON JEDI IF ATTACKED FIRST! BHs can be attacked at will, it allows us to chose whether or not we want jedi in our battle. If I fire an AoE and it hits a jedi, then so be it I can be attacked.

Then a Commando with practically nothing but AOE would be SOL.
