Why?
Why should I want to have to fight Jedi, in a GCW that was fought by soldiers?
Why should I want to have to fight jedi, a proffession that by default are to be stronger than me?
Why should I want to have to fight jedi, when they are so many, they are starting to outnumber all the normal professions participating in the GCW alltogether?

I was one of the few (probably only) Naysayers to BOTH sides of that argument.

The current system does nothing. Jedi are everywhere and the balancing act of the CU to positively affect the GCW has been for nothing. I was warning about this on the GCW Forum, way before the CU hit, that even if the CR/CU came off perfectly, the Jedi will still be there to adversely affect the GCW... in their batallions.

Auroboron's suggestions, IMO, did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING what his boldy titled thread suggested. It was titled "Feedback: Remove The Jedi From The GCW" (or something like that). But his suggestion did absolutely NOTHING to remove the Jedi from the GCW. In fact, Jedi would gain even MORE influence over the GCW / Planetary Control / PCMG. If there were to be "Elite" tier of players, then there would be even more powerful "Elite" bases which are far more valuable than even Spec.Forces ones. If you need to take down these high-scoring bases, guess what? You need to face the Jedi. But defend your lower class bases? Guess what? You need to face the Jedi. I repeatedly said in that thread that Auroboron's suggestions do nothing. I get a reply from him saying that the Jedi removal from the GCW is NOT an option (funny thing that the GCW Corr. has a Jedi character).

My last reply in that thread was to ask him to edit the title of the thread. The title was an outright lie.

Sorry for carrying some of the fire I usually carry from the GCW Forums. The GCW is the largest concern of my SWG gaming (even more than Commando).

Jedi should not be a part of the GCW period. The only jedi that should be included are the NPC's that are in this time period. Besides the FRS system there is no difference in Dark and Light Jedi... easy solution, make them all neutral aligned. They can duel until their heart is content, they still get PvP from BH's, they still get vis from anyone and it justifies why my current rebel jedi guildmate still gains vis from me. Bring back Lightsaber tef's so they can't just duel or fight in Theed or risk the entire city going off on them. Add in some new feature to give them some form of goal outside of the GCW.


Jedi should be a normal player prof if they HAVE to be included as there should be no player class that is 1.5x more powerful than any other without "Prestige Classes" for the traditional profs to have to compare. A good amount of the playerbase is now chasing jedi. This kills the GCW, this hurts group play when they are scared to grind with others (with the CU encouraging group play). How many are chasing jedi because they want to play like a jedi? Now, think about how many are chasing it to get a leg up on non-jedi and be able to compete with the jedi elites? I know a lot of folks that are just doing it so they can match their peer's power, not because they wanted to play a very special part in the galaxy that is no longer special. I mean tonight trying to fly to Rori to do some faction transactions, I see a Light Knight fighting a Dark Padawan at the starship terms. They are going at it when I see 2 Dark Knights and one with a Guardian tag come to gang bang her while the padawan shouts "Yaaaaaaaa wut now??!" repeatedly like a man devoid of any respect for the game or any brains. Then I look out of the starport and I see some guy in ST armor plinking away at a rebel NPC... which was more star warsy during the Galactic Civil War? 4 Dark Jedi wailing on a Light Jedi that should be higher level than Luke by their skill set, in non existent councils... or a player in Storm Trooper fighting for control in a rebel controlled area?


Elites would be a good temp fix, but does not solve the issue of too many jedi in the public eye. Permadeath would not be a solution, but heavy skill box loss might to discourage them from showing their faces in public without a good reason. The easiest way to handle it would be to jump past RotJ in the next expansion and just make jedi a normal class and have the entire galaxy be formed in the EU. Wouldn't be hard with Nyax, Mara Jade, Talon Karrdeetc already having Cameos and so many jedi to be a part of the New Order or those opposing it.

I agree with Perma-Death.... However, it must have some sort of thing that alows noob jedi to actualy have some jedi time b4 being perma dead.


I say after a jedi uses 1/2 of there Skill Points in jedi skills they have 3 lives. Before that they can die as much as they want just like normal players.


So yes, there might be a few people who are 49% jedi and 51% TK but it would sevearly reduce there effectiveness.


Impliment it and give jedi 1 accross the board respec where jedi skills count as Elite skills and let them pick there template. Then after there week is done the perma death rules apply to those with 50% or more jedi skills.
