Wait - lemme get this straight, so the cybernetic arms do NOT extend the range on Heavy weapons? Interesting...

Really guys. After all the things that have been done to Commando... should we be surprised at all?

Actually, there was something brought up on the corr forums that it could be possible going beyond 85 m range because of Heavy Weapons and their radius (specifically the ASL, saying it has a 15 m radius which I didn't notice in my testing today).

This had the only responses so far in "looking into things" that have any remote reference to heavy weapons.

Mixed blessing?

More than likely a Nerf to ranged weapons coming. There are short ranged whiners out there complaining about the fact that Rifles shoot further and are effective at it than Pistols or Lightsabers. I mean, a Rifle shooting far? What a concept for these people.

They're not too worried about Heavy Weapons right now since Commandos are generally looked down even more than in the Pre-CU SWG.

sad but its true, I was constantly asked to go on big game hunts pre cu, there were creatures that only a commando or a jedi could handle, and since most of my friends refuse to hunt with jedi...

Here's my question: Do "general ranged weapon" bonuses apply to heavy weapons? I'm at work right now, but it would be interesting to test and see if these bonuses change the numbers when examining "My modified dps" etc on a plasma or AR.

I hate to say it, but I'm guessing that they won't. If they don't, then the cyber-arm not helping is "working as intended". If ranged bonuses do effect heavy weapons, then the arm is bugged.

My only issue with the range extending arms is that it allows people to take down turrets with no risk. I personally would love to get a couple because I could extend the range of my heavy weapons (apperently not) to make my PFT, Acid weapons, Lightning weapons, etc. a little more viable. Nothing scarier for me than running towards a pack of Jedi so I can get in range, which is just beyond their range... account for lag and I usually get rooted by them at 25m for me which slides into 5m for them... damn sliding!

This is exactly the case with the ASL. You can't deal any damage at the +80m (w/ arms) range but you can have status effects within the splash range. It's uses are limited, but can be helpful in some cases. People seem to be getting confused when they see "target out of range", even though it does read that you are able to fire. One thing I have not been able to quite test out properly yet is the effects of using an AoE special (fanshot, sprayshot) with an inherant aoe weapon. Curious how the splash radius would work then.

I posted suggestions to rectify this travesty over: Here.
