HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GRIND WHEN I DO A SPECIAL 500 YARDS AWAY WITH MY FLAME THROWER, AND THEN I GET A HUG STAMPEDE COMING RIGHT AT ME!!!!
DOES ANYONE AGREE WITH ME THAT OUR WEAPONS SHOULD BE CHANGED?!?!?!?

Know your weapons. I love my AoE and have had little problem grinding.
you just have to be careful, and get a group that is understanding. be sure you ASK before fighting if its ok that you use AoE weapons.. I've had a few that said no, so I left (this was of course before master CM, which gives me something to fall back on)8 times out of 10 you'll get a cool GL and will pull mobs away from the spawn.
to my knowledge we dont get any non-aoe weapons. the proton rifle I have heard is in fact aoe. but thats just rumor atm.. since I have not seen one first hand and even if I did wouldnt really know till they fix it hehe.
I used a good method to grind commando. I used a combination of weps depending on CL, but I'd use a pistol or rifle to pull one non agro creature off the heard. after neing far enough away, i'd root it, the pull out heavy wep and finish the job. I did most of this soloing Bols on dantooine. Got the occasional incap if root didn't work right, but overall a good tactic.
Just this past weekend, I have seen MANY Commandos literally get booted off from an in-mission group because the aggro is too much. I have NEVER seen this done to a specific profession in my entire SWG experience.

I usually ask the group leader if I can use my heavy wepons, if they say no, i just use my pistol or rifle. I find that sometimes I have solo in order to use em as alot of groups don't like em. But as i stated before, with the right tactics, aoe wepons can be used effectivly. Just don't use em in tight places. The DWB and mydryyyl caverns are not suitable for any aoe weps. I found that out the hard way.
Also, I don't show my master commando tag, I use shock trooper as a title. I find I've been turned down to join a group with MC as a tag. Evan after explaining I'll use pistol.

When a player must refrain from using his primary weapon because it causes too many problems, there is something wrong. The fact that a player must ask permission to use his primary weapon is wrong.
