tac...I got a 2.8 spd one...nyah nyah...890 max...

I agree that spd is key...once the dots are applied it all comes down to spd...I do like the idea (can't believe I never tried it) of starting with a high damage ft, apply a dot, then switch to the speed ft....

I have enjoyed my damage sliced FT for a while but I bought a new one this week (for a sizeable chunk of change) that does 890 dmg @ 2.7s. MMmmm, this thing is a beauty. I timed it against my dmg sliced one. I pulled 6 second specials as opposed to 11 seconds. When fighting multiple targets it's almost not noticable as you have to run into range from one target to the next, the timer has reset by the time you're set to hit the next target.. mmmm lovely FT

My 2 Creds:

Speed for PvE: Most hard mobs required a bunchof flamesingles to go down. Therefore, speed is an awesome thing to have.

Dmg for PvP: After I would flame once, one of us died soon after. Good luck if your first hit misses, if your 1100 dmg FT hits, the're toast. Plain and simple.

damage for me please.

Accuracy isn't much of an issue at master and for the downtime my armor is more than enough to protect me when I'm a high ranking tka or fencer w/ melee mitigation and high defenses.

FT stats 540-1142 4.0

The question really is just style or substance.

Stock FTs don't typically *need* any more damage, or truly benefit from it in any tangible way. Yet on the otherhand you can't deny how downright cool it is to have a weapon with 1000+ max damage.

Of course, if you're interested in PVP effectiveness you'l want that speed slice. It takes a chunk out of the FT's biggest weakness - its delay. And for big-game hunting you'l want the higher speed so you can stack your DOTs faster.

I like speed, while you do get a sacrifice on over all damage you can hit the target with 2 flames instead of 2(which means you can stack Flame1 and Flame2 and have time for another Flame2). At master I would probably go for a damage slice.

I like my speed sliced Krayt Flamer. Sliced it to 2.4 atk speed its almost like using a pistol when just letting it shoot the fireballs and in PvP it looks like I am getting my specials off every 4-5sec (plan on timing this) and I am still 2 blocks away from master commando. Damage range on it is like 500 to just over 900 only pull it out for PvP raids but I love the thing.
