I'll jump ahead and ask "Who gives the best specials?" Because our weapons are powerful in their own right, we don't get any special attacks. The obvious question to ask is "Which other profession gives the best special?" Best can be subjective, but, as a damage dealer not croud control, best means highest damage.
Previously, Strafe2 from the rifle line seemed to give the best damage. This was mostly due to T-21s having higher max damage than other weapons. What we need is the raw multiplier. ex: strafe2 is 4x damage.
Anyone up high enough in the combat professions to start testing this?
If the master special from each of the 3 main ranged professions yields the same damage (likely) It probably wont matter which one we go up.

I'm thinking that Smugglers and Carbineers are getting the best specials.

I dont know
What I do know is i'll be going Master Commando // Master BH // 1 branch of Carbineer Or Medic for BactaToss (cos its soooo much fun)
As of 5th May... All jedi will be an enemy of the republic. Hunt them down and show no mercy...!

I would say MBH/Mmarksman/Mcommando. You get all the general ranged speed and acc from BH and Marksman(which will help!) You also get BH specials and how dose armor Mitigration work, Is it stackable?

Probably Mcommando/MBH for me, just to get some revenge on jedi for all the sh!t that's gone down in my time during playing.
Not sure if you can get the MBH/Mcommando/Mmarksman, is that possible with the remaining skills from the two hybrids?

Rifleman is slated to be the new nuker, so probably still going to be the master rifleman skill.

DOH! well I must have dropped a line when calculating it. Mcommand/MBH would be best for the speed and acc. Im still wondering if Armor Mitigration is stackable

Every indication is that it does not need to stack. At MBH you have *zero* penalties to using assault armor (for example, MBH gets a "-60%" armor penalty on movement, but advanced assault armor only has a 60% penalty to begin with, so the Bh has *no* penalty). Same with Master Commando. One reason to prefer, say, carbineer over BH is that then you'll have no penalties with two different kinds of armor (assault and battle armor, in that case).

I'm planning on going the Mrifles/Mcommando with the rest stuck in FS and medic.. although If I find I can get by without the medic it will all go FS or into scout to get some terrain neg. With rifles and heavy weapons you are sooo slow. Spend most of the time running around with the massassi knuckler equipped and switching to the big weapons as combat starts.
Note that this is a purely damage template, but the commando and FS defensed prevent me from becoming completely defenseless. It also grants full certs in 2 types of armor.

Mmmmmm... Last Ditch witha Proton Rifle..... it's death-a-licious!
Last Ditch is supposed to be more powerful the lower the Smuggler is in Health. So basically this means that if you're fighting a Master Smuggler/Master Commando who is low on health, if he turns on you and takes aim, you're toast.

Low Blow with a Rocket Launcher. That should keep those marriage proposals down.
