Thread: World of Jedi, now, Enter the Masters

First of all, I'm on Bria.


Jedi are everywhere, having fun, dueling, enjoying the Parks, Caves, etc, you know what I'm talking about.

They should not be complaining, they are everywhere in the game doing stuff. They complain about other professions and about Bounty Hunters. They complain about their powers not being strong enough. Now let me say, I am in the Village and want a Jedi character but I also know whats fair is fair, Commando is broken, bad. Jedi get fixes right away. More than one in fact. Yet Commando is some step child profession. (No offense to step children-you know what I'm saying).


Now, in a few days, I'm starting to see the inevitable, you know its true too. Master Jedi. I'm already running in to them. With the system now, its going to happen, more will come. And fixes for them will come. What kind of Customer Service is this when its obvious the Commando profession is broken and it's ignored. The issues the issues.....Agro stick weapons, built-in specials that don't know they are built in, weak weapons, broken nades, unwelcome in groups, etc. I am also a Master Rifleman and thats what I use to have fun, as a Rifleman, I can.... group hunt, go into dungeons, parks, solo- if I'm careful, get loot on my own, do damage with the help of a melee player, umm, I can actually have fun cause it works. Commando....well you all know.


Jedi are overtaking the game, and soon, more Masters will be around. Knights will group with Masters for protection and will increase. Its easier for them now. I also seeJediusing T-21 rifles to help them hunt stuff.


Fix Commando, and not just a "Do a weak fix to shut them up" kinda fix. Fix what is known to be wrong. Fix the other really broken ones also, Ranger, and the crafting professions too.

They make Jedi 1.5 time stronger than all other profs and give no counter.


They're "looking" at fixing concussion shot/last ditch/rifles/whatever other whine comes upbecause these are taking out too many jedi....


And they can't FIX commando because we'd be OVERPOWERED!?!?


Is it too early in the morning? Am i drunk/hallucinating/too plain mad to see the sense in that?


And for what it's worth, i have a jedi toon.


And after looking at the Fanfest info from the GCW thread... the devs are unaware of problems with turrets, etc. etc.... makes me wonder if they devs have actually played this game recently and if all the *redname* "I have a (insert prof here) toon" is a load of BS

During the last few weeks I have spent alot of time with my friend who is a Master Commando / Master Pistoleer.


The strategy is - she do the damage, I heal her.


My own lightsaber cant do half of the damage she can do with regular weaponry she bought cheap from a shop.
To have any kind of chance to progress in the kashyyyk quests, I need her guns around.


There's 1 truth:
This game is broken.


There's one you can blame for that, but Jedi players are amongthe least guilty for the situation with Commando.

Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

i have to agree with this guy. ive spent a lot of time recently in the caves trying to kill necrosis (we did get him eventually), and one of my attempts was amde with a group of 5 jedi and 3 riflemen (i was a rifleman commando). funnily enough, in that group of all the groups we have run, we were slaughtered. completely destroyed.

eventually we were successful, but it was with a group with one tanking jedi, one healing jeid, and the rest ranged damage dealers.

the two amazing things in this story are:


1. there were 5 randomly grouped jedi in the same instance (they didnt know eachother)

2. they couldnt deal damage fast enough.


incidently, im on bria too, and thats probably why all the jedi were there in the first place






one thing i didnt appreciate about my commando rifleman mix until recently is that i can sniper shot with my flamethrower and deal 3000 damage in one hit. how many other professions can claim that?

Jedi is a good healer.

Damage wise they're terrible;
Defence is good with Master Defender;
Powers is "meh" - it's only good for a handful of powers;
Enhancer is for dabbling.

Jedi and Commando fill different roles. Commando can actually outdamage Jedi.

On a single target, problem is we agro evrything around us. Commando does aoe agro, but only single target damage. see the prob there?

hehe m jedi? no one and i mean NO ONE is above the rank of padawan now, FRS is disabled, going along the basis of the old FRS it is impossible to get master jedi without fightclubbing.


P.S. no offence to commando's but many people grinded the village with nades which is a commando skill so many jedi you see are ex commando's....

cut jedi heals down a bit, or extend the timer/force cost whatever but increase their dmg by 50%, this is a bh btw

One of the reasons the grenade timers are now so screwed up is to stop the high speed fs/combat xp grind.


And as for being Ex-commandos? No, one tree does not a profession make.

Then whats a Jedi Knight? No offense, but 2 nights ago I got owned by two jedi knights (one had a padawan title up, but its bounty mission was for 225k), for half the fight I was force choked and unable to do anything as they killed me. At first, I did quite well in damaging the first jedi before they choked and healed...

As for ex-commandos? Hardly, they took up the profession for the sole purpose of grinding out FS xp. Those commandos had more loyalty to grenades and their weaponsmiths than to the actual profession. The FS grinders who went and stayed commando, or were encouraged by their grind to master it and live the life of a commando are the only FS grinders that can be considered an ex commando, or current commando.

Im 0404 Pistoleer, and always had at least one tree of pistoleer in my template, but I do not consider myself a pistoleer nor an ex-entertainer nor ex-scout (had 1 tree in each of those novice profs before the CU), as I never mastered nor lived the life of the profession. I used their abilities to supplement my own, just like the FS folks did with our grenades. Now, Im a master of Marksman, Commando, and now Carbineer...I can consider myself an ex-marksman, and a commando plus a carbineer as I can with merchant, architect, and weaponsmith on my valcyn alt.

You haven't played in the shoes of any profession until you master it.

Hey, I don't think you want to go THERE. Curtainly not Pre-CU because for all the 4000 commandos grinding FS, There were three 0040 commandos/MTK.... One Line Made the Profession, and if we wanted +25 more speed and acc, we'd have Master Commando. Which IMO was a waste of plenty of skill points. 14 just counting the Acid rifle line

A Jedi Knight is a Jedi who finished their Knight trials before CU. They kept their title.
