Thread: HAM wounds, why so many people complain about the Flame

Im sure this was posted at another time...But an incident happened last night that made me think about it again. Many people whine and complain about how our FT cause these horrible wounds, hence the upcoming nerf. But, I dont think many people realize that while flames do leave wounds to your health, Any of the bleed shots that a pistoleer/rifleman/carbineer can leave devastating wounds to your secondaries, which in my opinion is worse than health damage... the only difference is that people do not see the wounding happening like you can on your health meter. Im sure many of you, my fellow commandos and vetrans know this.... hopefully someone from another profession is trolling our boards looking to post a nerf threat comes across and reads this.

its true that bleeds cause wounds too but the flame is worse. the reason why is because even after you kill the commando and you sit there burning the wounds can make it so that after a few ticks your max health is less then the 500(thats if they only used flame 2)or so flame tick on you. that kinda makes you well screwwed. thats why peeps complain, cuz they win the fight but still die and noone likes that.

Last time I looked, if a person gets hit with a flame thrower in real life, they are heavily wounded (if not dead...). It's logic that when you're hit by a flamethrower, you burn. When you burn, your skin dies, leaving giant wounds. The Flamethrower DoT wounds are logical. People are just all bïtchy because they have to take the time to heal... my god, 500 wounds sure does take a long time to heal *cough cough*.

Ya you have a point. I wasent even thinking of that when I posted. Most people run around buff these days, or have some flameout on them ( at least people who PvP a lot do ). So they can usually survive getting hit with a flamespecial. But man, anyone with ranged def. and dodge/counterattack mods is soooo hard to hit with a flamespecial ( unless you use intimidate ). I guess I was just complaining about everyone always complaing. /targets self, /bonk What was I thinking....

k true its not impossible to heal the fire but cause you said when ppl burn ..... when they burn they take water and pooof no fire anymore the same should work in this game bye Docs i think cause next water on tatooine is hard to find
and btw thereis a lot of more powerful DoTs than fire ... diseased for example you cant even heal yourself after a mind diseased thats much more ......... than fire but it can get healed by a doc !

so please stop crying for a fire nerf or you canlook out for somebody elsekilling your next 300k ham krayt

orfor somebodykilling the At St walking into the reb city

we allready got nerfed dont make us more useless than we areallready !

If you're fighting a commando on Tatooine you deserve to burn. This only somewhat makes up for our lack of terrain negotiation, if we can set the battlefield right we leave our enemies with no water to run to.

You make a good point about how other DoTs damage secondaries skip, I hadn't thought of it that way before, but it definitely is worse to have your stamina wounded to hell, cause even if you do have a lot of action, it's not coming back fast enough.

First, who pvp's without buffs? The maxium wounds you can recieve is 1 under your maxium normal health. For example, if you have 900 health, you cant recieve more than 899 wounds. With master doc buffs averaging around 1800, all are wounds do is cut the average master doc buff in half. Furthermore, a master doc can completely heal all of those wounds in just 2 stims.

Trust me I know... I dont think our flamer is overpowered. I would never cry nerf to my own beloved profession. This whole thread I started becuase I was dueling. This particular person wanted to lay down some ground rules... Im game for whatever so I said ok, what are your rules? No DB.. ok fine... then he see's my tag... master commando.. and he tells me no flamespecials.. I dont wanna have all those wounds.

Really? I say.... Then I noticed his tag, master gunfighter. I asked him so If I cant use my flamespecials, then your not going to stack healthshot 1 and 2 on me are you? ( not that I care about wounds becuase I have the TK meditate line ). To make this long story short, he goes on and on about how he should be able to spam all of his specials, including his DoTs becuase Im someflame monkeycommando. He also goes on to say how glad the FT is being nerfed and that a master gunfighter should lay PwnAgE! ( exact quote ) on me suXor butt.

A little aggrivated at this point I tell him Im not going to duel him becuase he has no honor and he is not worth my time. He then begins to spam me with tells about explicits I cant repeat here.At this point I couldent resist

: accept duel

Last time I looked, this game is not based on real life. It's logic that when you get hit with any kind of projectile weapon once, you're dead. Are you advocating making every weapon in this game one-hit kill weapons? Even the lowly CDEF? 500 wounds DOES take a long time to heal if you're not a TK. You sit around a medical center without any medic skills and tell me how long you wait there for someone who wasn't hologrind healing a tumbler to heal you. You'll be waiting a loooong time.

If you don't have a doctor in your pvp group then I'm sorry, pvp isn't for you. A doc can heal 500 wounds in one stim. ONE stim. The only wounds that will put you out of the fight, are mind wounds, as those are fairly time consuming, and you have to relocate to the cantina. Furthermore, one hit kills went right out the window when buffs and armor caught up with the damage output of the classes. Commando damage is all front loaded. You are right in that commandos were a very powerful pvp class, when people could one hit kill, but with buffs and armor everywhere now, it comes down to dps (damage per second) in which the commando is second to last in damage per second (only the pikeman averages worse).

This is a pointless exchange of words. You think your way. I think my way. But unfortunately for you, the people who have the knowledge, and experience regarding MMORPGs, ... the people who are best suited to make IMPARTIAL class balance decisions, ... agree with my way of thinking. Tough.
