When you'rephysically in combat with multiple enemies (a small caveat - this works if your PET is actively being attacked by multiple enemies as well), just line 'em all up in front of you. Target one of them and fire off Cone 1 / 2. FlameCone acts just like FlameSingle does, except it can target multiple enemies at the cost of reduced damage against each individual enemy. Every enemy that is hit, however, does get the standard flame DoT.

Easiest way to use Cone is to have a pet go in and draw all the agro, then stand 10m or so back from your pet, which will force all the enemies to be in your cone of fire (meaning the area you can actually hit).

As far as I can tell, if an enemy is not in combat (has the crossed-swords icon), you can't hit it with Cone unless you have it targetted (if theres a group of 10 chubas next to each other, Cone will only damage the one you have targetted)

you target one mob or npc and shoot it just like flame single . if there are other mobs or npcs within the cone radius, they will be hit as if you were shooting them with flame single. So it is like using flame single on more than one target at the same time, they just have to be real close to each other.

It will hit enemies you aren't in combat with. I accidently aggroed a few rather difficult MOB's when I coned a pair of bols on dantooine...yeah, I died

Hm... would it perhaps be possible that if you oneshot the mob you targetted the cone effect doesn't take place? I know I've shot it before and it didn't agro anything, but I believe I also oneshotted my target every time that happened...

FlameCone is meant to be used on tightly grouped enemies that are in front of you and within 20m of you. Always pick the enemy thats in the middle, that way you'll be able to hit more at once (duh ).

If I don't have a pet, I usually run around to line all them up in front of me then flamecone. If I have a pet, I send the pet in and let all the mobs gather round him, pick the middle mob, and flamecone. Be forewarned that flamecone will sometimes pull mobs off your pet. I had this happen to me on Lok when I had a master CH with me... ended up incapped with 6 mobs on me.

am i using it wrong or what? i have never done damage to more than one opponent in front of me using this attack, and once i lit two on fire (however one was my target). I have been using it mostly against flying creatures tho, so could that possibly be the reason?

any info you could offer would be greatly appreciated, thanks

How does it work? Is it better to get right next to the target? Do you physically have to line up so that your targets are in a line of does it just effect a radius around the intended target? What is the ideal distance from target to initiate the cone?
