The name of the ability

flameCONE

U will fire a flame and will hit or no(depends on ur accuray) all mobs that are in a cone

I dont know the angle but as far as u can get from the most away mob is better

With ft4 i always hit every mob that is in my front like

* = Mob

@ = me

"How does it work? Is it better to get right next to the target? Do you physically have to line up so that your targets are in a line of does it just effect a radius around the intended target? What is the ideal distance from target to initiate the cone?"

Anybody?

Dude, this was you answer,

"You have to be within 16m to use specials with the FT. flameCone works by spraying a number of targets at once. So.. target the one in the middle of the group and spray away.. Of course it will depend on your abilities whether or not you actually hit.. and also how tightly things are grouped." Oskori.

All you do is get withing 16m of you target and Flame away. If they are all grouped close together, you should hit most of them. Best way to use it is to send your pet in and get the group to attack it. then stand back and Light em' up.

I usually do this,

send in pet,

/cone 1

/single 2

/single1

"lol, burn baby, burn!"

then harvest the nicely roasted meats and heal up my pet.

Dude...read my questions. I know you fire it and more than one thing gets hit sometimes...but I'm trying to get the details on how to best use it.By reading your response, it isstarting to seem like maybe its more like a AOE around target, than an actually cone, but I dont know this for sure. Until someone answers my questions and doesn't just chime in with a "Dude...its kills lots of stuff...its cool...." I won't know for sure.

Ok, it fires in a cone (thus the name). the closer you are to the critters in question the less "width" you'll get.

Yes, I have found that to be true hunting Endor using pets for tanks. Best bet is to back off, I usually sit about 12m or so away, and have at it. That way if there's a slight range variation in the critters you should still get them all. I've used Cone1 to take out as many as 6 Arachne Hatchlings and still tag the Queen with it on a couple of occasions now.

Course, I also hunt with a Doc/CM friend

I read somewhere that while your primary target has to be within 16m from you, the cone itself can effect secondary targets up to the max range.

Is this true?

Haven't noticed it doing that yet Ioshi. I'll keep an eye out though.

I have noticed that sometimes when I use Flamecone that some of the creatures that die due to the DoT do not yield any XP. Is this a problem that others are having? Is there a work around? Currently, I do not use Flamecone unless I am stacking DoT's on a single creature.

As far as I have experimented the flame cone will affect everything that is on your screen as long as you are about 12 meters from your primary target. Thats not to say it will affect things that are 20 meters beyond your primary.

Example: Hunting on Dant seething bol lairs. Pet attacks lair you stand back let them swarm your pet. Walk up find a good target 12 meters away and have at it. All the creatures that are swarming your pet will be affected that are in your screen area.

Hope this helps

hmm... interesting. I almost always only hit a single target, even when there are a bunch grouped up. Of course, I'm always at closest possible range (2 meters or so). Is this why I never hit more than one or two?

Sounds like it.

When i'm up close i always try to line up the creatures and hit them fairly successfully, it is true that if you back off more you can hit a wider range.

I'll have to do more tests on lower level mobs.

issox yes it is buged if u attack starting with flamecone and they get hit with it the only one that will take dam is ur originel target and all the otheres wil be hit with the dot but no dam so they will burn to death and give no xp and u wont be abel to loot or harvest them ithere

the way to stop this from hapining is simpel use a ragulur attack to start ur fught then right away use cone i say do this until they fix the bug

asfor cone its shelf it has me stomped iv had it hit things behind me even it might be buged or it might be aol

i dont use a tank of any sort and this is wat i do i get the mobs all to attack me and run back words and cone and more or lees it hits them all

o ya cone seems to miss 1/5 more of the time then singel but still is about 3x as use full lol

plzs excus my bad english
