Thread: Launcher pistol and 4 boxes filled under pistoleer skill tree gives 2 potential death blows

But the problem is that its not consistant. The stop shot ranges from 600 to over 1600 in a single shot and the pistol whip does damage from 500 to just under 1000.

My question is, would going up the pistoleer accuracy skill tree make this more consistant?

My first shot with the launcher pistol after obtaining the stopping shot skill was a hit for 1629 and I've seen pistol whip do damage in the mid 900s, which is more health than some characters in this game posses.

75% reduction with PVP only though right? I really don't have a problem with that. As it stands whoever challenges loses the dual because its a one shot gig in most cases. The person that accepts has a big advantage. I'd like to see PVP duals last several seconds so that there is some strategy involved other than popping off to encourage someone to be the one to challenge.

I'd also like to see the luancher pistol moved up the skill tree a little bit so all the pistoleers don't start getting novice commando just so they can use the launcher pistol. Perhapsput thecert onthe second teir combat XP which we can complete while getting our pistoleer special shots, then once we complete those two skills we can start working on HW XP(once they make it provide HW XP)

If a pistoleer wastes that much time and effort to just acquire novice commando to use the launcher pistol i ohnestly see little problem with that. Thst is a huge amount of points and time invested to get one pistol that has questionable effectiveness, ohnestly if anyone works up to novice commando just for the launcher pistol there a fool. Because as it stands now that is pretty much all they get for the massive points expenditure.

That's a good point, I hadn't even thought of that! (Well, I guess this is a wasted post since I don't have anything to add to what you said).

I disagree, my launcher pistol is sliced and has a high end damage output rating of 219. According to a post I read on this forum the other day a sliced launcher pistol is capable of damage ratings in the high 200s and even as high as the320s. I would assume that such a launcher pistol would do damage upwards of over 2-3000 points in a single shot compared to the one I have now that can hit up to 1600+. And that is just with stop shot, fan shot may be better but I don't have that one yet. From what I've read on the pistoleer forum they're capable of damage in the 1300s right now so we're talking about twice as much damage if all the above is true.

yea but the difference is speed. Most launchers are around 3.0 speed, a pistoleer advanced in the profession will be shooting his gun at or very close to the speed cap(1.0).

3000 damage very 3 seconds vs 1300 damage every second.

won't launcher pistols be giving Heavy weapon exp soon anyway? So using one as a pistoleer would hurt you big-time if you were still trying to advance.

Under the current system, the only reason you would use a high damage slow speed launcher over a higher dps lower damage pistol would be the initial chance of a single kill shot. With the new pvp rules going into play, dps will be king. Which will make the whole discussion as mentioned earlier, pointless.

Well if you can do a stopping shot every '1' second. Don't tell anyone, because thats an awesome secret to keep.. will put you ahead of the game. As far as my guns go, either with the launcher pistol or scout blaster, I can only do stopping shot every 3 maybe 4 seconds (don't remember the exact time) due to the delay caused by the special attack. I hit up to 300 evert 2 seconds with the launcher pistol, and up to 200 every 1 second with a scout blaster. The max i've seen from stopping shot with a launcher pistol is about 1600, twice that of what i've gotten from the same attack with a scout blaster.

The stopping shot has a fairly long delay between uses. I've tried spamming it and it reminds me a lot of when i was grinding through rifle. Its probably not quite that slow but its obviously much slower than double tap. I've started using more towards the end of a tough battle but go with the speed of double tap for the majority of the battle. Its basically a good begining and ending to a battle but not what you want to use throughout because its significantly slower.

my LP is 65-256 with a speed of 2.9. with stopping shot, the most damage i've done is 1891. fan shot is not as strong as stopping shot, but it is much, much faster. think of it as a stronger version of double tap. the problem with double tap and fan shot is that it lowers the condition of your gun extremely fast. i'm talking 1 condition point per 2 uses, and that's before having your weapon sliced. when your weapon is sliced, it deteriorates faster.

stopping shot is great for fighting thugs and whatnot. like someone said, to get that one hit kill. when taking on tougher mobs, you're better off spamming bodyshot2. and don't bother getting bodyshot3. it takes costs more HAM and is slower than bodyshot2, and only does slightly more damage.

Launcher Pistol?!?

Whats all this crazy talk about Launcher Pistols?!?

Ooooohhhh right, right. I had heard rumor that my class gets a weapon called a laucher pistol, that may actually be halfway decent.

Too bad on the Flurry server Dol Iron isn't discovered/available simply because the immensley overpowered Heavy Weapons should be rare!

Please don't mind my bitterness its simply a state of frustration and wasted time.
