Now I know I haven't been around to really see and test all of this (Can't because of CTDs), but the new level system is terrible in my opinion. And yes I have tested as best as one can crashing every 5 minutes. It makes the game more boring then ever. Cause you now know exactly what you and cannot kill. Is this just simple math class or something?
This is bad for groups too as well as solo play. Well guess what if you want to go to say the DWB you have to have enough people so that everything in the DWB is Consider White! Oh and if your solo just fight little animals and stuff. Cause guess what you will never beat anything that's a couple levels above you! So if your level isn't high enough nobody wants or cares about you cause your just a nuisance. Oh but if you want to grind fast just group up with somebody CL 80 and kill stuff with them to get tons of XP and not get hit hard at all all of a sudden magically!
Where's the intelligence in this game suppose to be? Anyone, probably even a Second Grader can figure all this out. Just find something near your level and hit the two buttons!
So let's all vote.
Yea, I hate the CL thingy. Burn the CL. Burn!
No, I'm crazy. I like everything simply laid out for me.
P.S. Yes means you agree with me, no mean you don't.

Put me down for a big NO
The con system now only requires you to recognise numbers between 0 and78.
(( they don't have critteras with minus con levels do they??))
Any other number means your dead.

Obviously YOU'VE not tried it.
I been working it every possible minute I could get since TC5 first came online.
Granted the time was limited by the introdution of the CTD bug SOE planted on me and a raft of connection problems with my ISP but I have been trying evething I can to see if I can make this idiotic rewrite workable for me.

I keep logging into the test server hoping that something gets fixed.
Tonight I find my Prfoton rifle missing and I have maggically been awared an Idala'Risll rifle that looks and acts suspiciouly like my Protyon rifle did.
When fired I get to change in my toon's stance, no damgae is done to targeted creature.
Only the icons display the cool down.
My Plasma flamer thinks it is a particle beasm cannon.
I do actually aim it and the creatures in a straight line in the path of my target get hit.
No aoe but it does aggro all the creatures in an area.
I guess TC5-EP3 does not get the respec so I guess I'll waikt untoil RTC-Flurry goes live.
Based on the feed back on from those that have tried respecing.
I will get back my marksman boxes but I'll have to grind the elite boxes. At least I won't loose any skills I've had to grindas the triple masters are going to loose.
I'm only Master Smuggler/Master Commando/Master Marksman wioth some Scout thrown in on the side onFlurry.
Sorry guys but my testing days are complete. I'm not wasting any more of my tiome on this POS.
If I get a chance to tests respec I'll do that but I've done my last test.
To those of you that will still be testing
Have Fun!!

Ok this is a skill based game right?
We don't level up as you say in other RPGs.
So why now all of sudden make it all levels. I believe levels should not determine your power but skills both in-game and yourself.
Now I never had any problems with a Consider System, in fact I loved it! But the Consider system didn't tell me what I can and cannot fight. It gave me an idea. I'm not saying lets all solo Rancors. No I'm saying that something just above a Consider Yellow (Or Orange Now) is just about always going to defeat me. However I still stand chance against them. Why does a High Level Tusken above me, hit me so much harder when I'm alone yet if I stand next to all of my buddies it becomes quite simple. Care to explain where I get my god-like defense all of a sudden? So I guess the magic of grouping makes me tough stuff.
This will encourage a form of solo-groups all over again. And no balancing how much damage above player level things will not work.
It is the concept itself. Lets say your group is kicking arse in the DWB, but "Uh oh! The Group Leader disbands by Accident". Well guess what! Anything that your fighting now is quickly killing you in a matter of seconds. Um yeah great! Real sensible.
I'm asking is it really that hard to balance things without using a cheap level system? Right now on live with no buffs no Composite any Consider Red will kill me or at least incap. me. That's right in my opinion and yea grouping up with someone should allow us to kill it assuming it isn't to far above us. But never should grouping up determine how hard it hits us. No offense but this really screws the idea of tanking. Who needs a Tank when we can just all the CL 80 people we can get.
I also see this as bad as it now means large groups of 20 can no longer exsist due to the fact they could become overpowering. Also groups of 8 means that you also can't take as many people on the Corvette anymore.
This is just sad to me. And yes I would like to believe the CU was the perfect system. But it's cause were talking about the same guys who stick about 30 SBDs or more on the Corvette so it can't be soloed. Well it didn't stop soloing and just made the Corvette worst for those who didn't want to be uber leet or use cheap tricks. I was hoping that they could come up with a system where the Corvette was hard, and impossible to solo, but be fun in a group.
They have the right intention, but just poorly implemented.
They need to find a way to make it so one person can't solo the NPCs up there but a group can cause of thier firepower and all the people to take the front of the damage.
However just one tanking guy would get worn down soon enough by any NPCs up there, yet with some damage dealers behind him he can survive long enough. That is what we need to do. I'm not doing this to complain and whine, I'm doing this little vote thingy so that it is clear we disapprove.
And I am typing up a paper on how just to make the CU an Upgrade not a Downgrade. However due to the fact my keyboard is broke I can't finish it yet. In fact I'm using a pen cause the keys are broken to type up letters like T and Y which makes typing all this quite long.
Also I'm not sitting here choosing not to play SWG. In fact most of the time I'm not near my PC, as I speak I'm using a Macintosh. And I usually only get on for the weekends. I'm am what you call a casual gamer. It took me about 4 months to grind Commando even going to Danttoine and hunting Pickets all the time. I'm not here to whine or mindlessly post, no I'm here in the hopes that somehow something I do here will make the gameplay better in SWG.
And so yeah I'm gonna post all lot of "Negative" stuff until every game bug is gone and this is the perfect game.
If the CU is done right and comes out all right I will surely give the Devs the thumbs up. I know they work hard. This is a way of making it clear what's going on is a no no or a yeah, though I doubt few will agree it's a yeah, and helping them.
I'm saying lets make it known this isn't working so great and then offer them something to go off of, or our own ideas!

Levels...UGH. Skill mods, ftw.
Seriously, this damage modifier thing is killing my fun. I'd like to go out and explore Dath, but that's like a death sentence. One good hit from about half the critters out there and I'd be dead.

Incorrect, I've been testing it extensively myself. And while the level system is far from balanced and a good many other things in the CU don't work, the experience system being geared too heavily toward creatures at your level and above for instance, I can see a good many good things about it.
Heck, I've come to the conclusion that I like the combat system (the parts that work very well indeed) a whole lot better than the combat mess we've got on Live. Ain't that a hoot? I still, however, though I should've come up with a more diplomatic way of saying so, don't think this is the proper forum for a discussion that has nothing whatsoever to do with commandos.

my problem with the CL system is the multiplier. Something higher level than you shouldn't hit you several times as hard as it would if you were grouped with several other people.

The level system is fine as a guideline to what you can fight (and potentially experience yield modifiers). Anything more than that really raises some unnecessary balance issues that are game-breaking in their current state.
