I actually reported about the Underslung Carbine awhile back...I didn't want to get our communities hopes up about a Weapon they knew I was pushing for...I was told that due to the animations required (between 30 and 40) for that specific weapon (which currently none of the animations are created) the Programmers just don't have time to try and get that one into the CU...they did confirm with me that when they get around to adding it to the game, they'd keep Commandos in mind (not a guarantee of course, but did make sure they know we want it and are arguement is good).
As for new weapons I'd like to see (and this isn't anytype of CU hint)...Commandos in my mind are (or should be) the Elite of the Elite...We master all weapon paths in Marksman and an unarmed path in Brawler. Because of that, I'd like to see Commandos have a "Heavy" version of all the weapons we are trained on...thus...a Heavy Pistol (the LP), a Heavy Rifle (the HAR and/or Beam Rifle), a Heavy Carbine (the Underslung Carbine), and some type of Heavy Melee Weapon like a Commando Knife or VK (which would utilize unarmed specials much like TKA's do with their VKs).
When it comes to the GCW revamp and how I see us on the battlefield, that's where I'd like to see the E-Web come in (watch the beginning of Empire Strikes Back...the Hoth Battle...to see what I envision for our E-Web)...In my mind, the E-Web would be a "portable" version of a Player turret that a player can call out or dismiss like they would a vehicle, with the exception of the fact that when called out, it can't be moved (has to be used then on like a Player controlled turret or dismissed to move)...Calling out and dismissing would have a delay timer (set up and take down time). The Attack power should be greater then our Rocket Launcher, but less then an actual Player Turret (to encourage folks to set up multiple E-Webs in a line for an attack...which would look sweet). Whether it has it's own specials or it operates like our consumable weapons (just click to shoot)is fine either way. There was talk that Squad Leaders and Commandos could work together on this cert. Commandos would get the weapon with tons of fire power, but weak on speed and accuracy, but Squad Leaders would be able to grant big speed and accuracy boosts to the Commando when grouped.
Other things I'd like to see is revamps to our grenades and comsumable Launcher weapons...For our Grenades, I'd like to see the stack size increased to 25 - 50, to see them stop damaging the user when caught in the blast zone (so we stop killing ourselves), range increase, and the possible addition of status effects like stun or "shell-shock". For the Launcher Consumable Weapons I'd like to see them all merged into one "Tube" weapon that comes with "ammo clips" that would control the damage type and speed. By reducing it to ammo clips, this should reduce the time, effort and cost to the crafters, which hopefully we'd see the savings returned back to Commandos.

News to the newer people out there. The Beam rifle started out as a commando weapon. But due to the fact that they had as much luck getting that to work as they did the imperial hat. They removed it from the commandos lineup and put the HAR in place. But the devs in their infinite wisdom left the schematic in the weaponsmiths lineup.
Fair trade? Well at least the HAR works (after many months of unstackable mods).
