No one knows what the Beam Rifle is for. It uses the same model as the Heavy Acid Rifle, though (which is a commando weapon). However... the HAR is bugged, just like the Beam Rifle. Ah well.
I'd like to use the Beam Rifle. It's one of the coolest weapon models in the game.

HAR isn't bugged, it just sucks. Flamecone DOT ignores resists so you can kill anything with it, and the HAR has no DOT and lower damage than the flamer so there's no point in using it.

I have seen very few of these and i came across a vendor that had them so i bought one for 8k, i equip it and it says i do not have the skills to use it. I am a master rifleman and master commando, one would think they could use any kind of rifle being a master in those professions.
Does this weapon have a Cert ?
If so, who gets it ?
If not, does anyone know if it ever will have one ?

im interested in this too. i bought one when i was master commando and couldnt use it, thought for sure it was a commando weap.

Its a useless weap then, nice. It looks just like an acid rifle.

Well, with the low stats I've seen on these on the Radiant server (220ish-230ish high damage), the have got to be rifleman weapons...........lol.
They are useless weapons, they look nice hanging on the wall............lol.

tis one of those buggy things,
weaponsmiths can make it (at the Master level) but no certification exists for it
yeah its cool, hope someone gets down to setting it straight
would be awesome as a rifleman weapon methinks

Lucas and Sunrise is probably in litigation on the usage of following terms...
Beam Sabre vs Light Sabre
Gundam Beam Rifle vs SWG Beam Rifle
So until the lawsuit settles, it will remain buggy.

The Beam Rifle, is a relic.
It's a leftover form the old commando"fix", where beam rifles was made into the buggy HAR.
The Beam Rifle, was a commando weapon, and it was based on the good ol'e mods "heavy weapon accuracy/speed"......But the commando "fix" made every weapon have its own skillmod now.
So, it's really a weapon no one can use. Because it is now a "Heavy Acid rifle" that is more bugged than the Bounty hunter jedi hunting abilities.

Hello,
I was wondering what the Beam Rifle is? I have a Commando (partially complete because I only play there occassionally) on Corbantis and have never seen this weapon there or seen where I get the cert for it.
I found one on another server and purchased it (it wasn't expensive) so I would have it to refer back to and find out what it was.
It looks like the Heavy Acid Rifle but is:
Energy Damage
Light Armor Piercing
This one was 115-204 damage before slicing and about 3.9 speed I think. The one I bought off a vendor had already been sliced and was 250 max damage after slicing.
Where do you get the cert for it in the Commando tree and what specials work with it? Is it a very good weapon?

It is a leftover from the orignal beta, and no profession has a cert for it.
