As a Bounty Hunter I am really disturbed by this information. As a long time supporter of the Bounty Hunter profession this is a slap in the face. I am not against Commandos being Bounty Hunters, or anybody being Bounty Hunters, but when you lower skill points for a profession, theres a reason for it. As a Commando looking to hunt Jedi, the Master Commando/ Master Bounty Hunter looks pretty damn good, but as a Bounty Hunter that has no intention of going Commando Master Bounty Hunter/...... looks cheapened by the lower skill cost. You guys may not agree with me, and that's cool, I just get angry because it seems like the Bounty Hunter class is going to be nothing more then a add on to other professions, and this thread proves it, not offense lol. Nothing will be unique about the Bounty Hunter Profession. That's what it seems like with the information we have though, we still don'thave all of it, but so far that's my opinion.

Doesn't anybody read where it says skill-point costs for certain professions/masteries are going to be raised?

regarding all of this "magic talk" what do you guys think the force is? id call it magic it is also irrelvent the animation of how the person is healed dont you think. personally thats the least of my worries. Jedi heal themselves with out medicine so thats magic. magic is part of the game.

Hello, I have some questions that I may not get answered but here goes. I have two toons one is a Bounty hunter, and the other is a Commando. I see alot of interest in Commando's becoming Bounty hunters. I tried this template and found the lack of melee defense to be a problem. Yes you can pick up some good state defense from Pistoleer. The problem still remains you really need high melee defenses, and melee mitigation helps as well.


What has me thinking is the statement that defense stacking will be no longer an option. I am probably wrong, but is there a chance these types of defense are being removed. Maybe not state defenses, but melee, ranged defense and mitigation. Then armor choices would be our only form of defense, and this type of template may be possible. I know Garvin has said he can't wait to try this combo. and I have tried it. I had more options of things to do in game but limited to NPC missions.


Mind you this is based off the current Charactor Builder, I have a feeling that is going to change. Then I may see how this template may be effective. I know there is more information to come, it just seems like it is taking for ever to get here. So far what I've read sounds interesting, I can't wait to read the rest of this puzzle.

Good to see the Commando community still being the same old calmed and mature place it used to be. The thread which Blair made the post must be the worlds biggest Jump To Conclusion thread there is. It's a riot there.


I'm very excited about these changes, they are huuuuge and this was only the first of many posts by the devs. I hope they continue to pour out information because it realy needs to be done after that post by Blair which raised more concerns for many than answers.


Hopefully I can combine my two favorit professions, Commando and Carbineer, into a useful build after the CURB.

Well since I do not know what is going to happen, but at least Garvin, Stern, and company have seen more than we have, I'm sure they can come to better conclusions, but I'm quite sure Garvin means one character with both of these professions. Up to now, you could not have a master commando / master BH character, but now you will be able too. Also, since commando will be a HEAVY damage dealer, you can add that onto your Jedi hunting BH . . .

You know what the difference is between you being a commando or a fire wielding wizard? Your flamethrower. Without it you are a wizard summoning fire out of your hands to crisp your victim. With the FT you are a commando.

It is the difference. As I said before and people keep ignoring, you can over engineer or over simplify, they are both different versions of the same animal /shrugs.

Hey guys,


Just stopping by this morning to see what's up.I didn't expect that CU Update thread to generate so much negative buzz, it's pretty insane.


I think commando devouts have nothing to worry about, it's all uphill for us from here. Finally, maybe I'll get some respect when I start shooting rockets or throwing nades. Maybe I'll get some respect when I spray the battlefield with flames. Only possible thing I worry about is an influx ofnoob FoTMwho would tarnish the reputations of vets like us if we really see an increase of effectiveness.


All of the people getting upset over the SP changes of elite professions should just chill, we'll all live. It's not like the end of the world, jeeze. Take a load off! Maybe they'll have to try something new *gasp* and branch out a bit. Dear lord the sky is falling!


The bounty hunter (sorry bout that only one window open =P) who was talking about BH being an add-on profession has a good point though.


I am eager to take out some rage upon jedi, but maybe this will diminish true BH feelings of pride. It's not that I don't have a respect for BHs, it's that I'm just faithful to commando but still wish todo BH and give it a shot. I hope it won't make BHs feel less important in that way. We all just have a lot of anti-jedi rage, and this might be our chance to get some of it out.
