Have the devs even picked up a heavy weapon and tried to use it to kill something? The answer to that is pretty obviously NO!!! Granted they look cool when we fire, hitting creatures with flaming spit balls just isn't cutting it for me.

In response to question 2I understand how some of our heavy weapons are supposed to be close ranged (shouldn't be for rocket launchers at least), but at close range i have a -50 to hit counter beside things I'm firing at. I think there is something real messed up with that, because at my max range of 48 m I have a -32. Forgive me if I'm wrong but would that not make you want to fire from 48 m away, not close range.

As for our specials adding to our default attacks, how in the heck does 15 seconds of lag add to our attack when we can pump out more damage during that time by not using a special. And as for heavy weapons being extremely powerful weapons, I don't know if I'm completely missing something but I can do more damage with rifles, pistols, or carbine weapons, not to mention taking into the fact that you miss 50-80% of your shots with a flamethrower.

Obviously we need to get the devs playing this class to get anything done about them. If we are supposed to be a support class and use our heavy weapons as secondary weapons then don't make us an elite profession, and at least make us useful enough to actually support other players, not just stand around looking pretty.

That's just my 2 cents. Please correct me if I'm wrong in anything I said.

Ok my responses...

1) It should be they should be fixed, I want to hear this is fixed.

2) What is this a joke? A particle beam cannon is meant to be fired at close range, but my fwg5 isn't. Dumd just flat out dumb.

3) Ok if this is true then why doesn't every other special move in the game behave this way? They simply don't know how to fix it so they have decided that they are just going to say it's supposed to be this way.

4) HEHEHE ya really powerfull, Lets see on average my flamethrower hits for about 150 on the other hand my laser rifle hits for about 1200.

5) Wow something actually got fixed instead of just them just trying to expain it away. Now fix grenades so they are actually usefull.

6) read response #1

It's kinda sad pistoleers are so happy they want holsters, I guess so they dont have to carry those heavy pistols arround, and be able to twirl their guns, to gloat as the kings of pvp....and we are still trying to just fire ours at an acceptable range or.....crap the list is too long.

I'm a **edit** fool, and am gona stick to my heavy weapons. I don't have any faith in us being a combat effecient class, but now I can be proud I am a novelty and perhaps some day be as rare as jedi.

"Pssst, hey Phil... is that a commando..."

"Nah, prolly some noob jedi who bought a flamethrower by mistake..."

Nothing against pistoleers.... since I guess most of us spent our points to be fancy pistoleers with LPs now anyway.

Could this have been the Panzer?

Guys, I completely understand the frustration you are feeling. I am feeling it as well as my class is one they didn't reply to today. This being said, please keep in mind that Q isn't the person that came up with these answer. He is relaying them. I have seen some comments that were pointed directly at him, and it just isn't right. Don't kill the messanger.

THAT IS FREAKING INSANE

in what world does any sane man with half a brain fire a rocklet launcher right infront of the target, are we throwing ALL LOGIC out the window? i can understand a flamethrower being a moderate close range. but even then, meelee range? are these people totally insane? they havent acknowleged 80% of the problems with the profession, its like theyre BLIND, the damage on our weapons SUCK, even in close range, and they miss 4/5 times, we dont even have a primary assault, the launcher pistol blows in comparison to an scout pistol, lets see here...a blaster compared to 4 freaking rockets, and the blaster wins in damage

is this the twi-light zone?

maybe itz bizarro world, where everything is backwards

I'm usually quiet, not saying much on boards. I just wanted to add my displeasure. This is nothing less than a complete kick in the nuts. This profession is completely useless, despite what it says in some of the skill blocks. Have the devs read what is written there? I doubt it. All kinds of rhetoric about "situations that would kill a lesser man", "a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, and should be avoided at all costs" etc on and on. As it is right now, we get laughed at.

I'm sure the DEVs don't care, but there is now one less commando.

Range Modifiers are being completely ignored. Our "close range"is supposed to be good at0m. Since all enemies attack at 1m for melee, this falls into our secondary range modifier which is the -10 to -60 area ( depending on what you're using ). So we need to sit there and constantly move on top of whatever we're shooting at to accurately fire, but now we're moving *penalty* the enemy is moving *penalty* ... we're back at square one with negative range modifiers. And I'm worried about # 6, the answer "This will be fixed soon" .. what will be fixed soon? Launcher pistol xp only or are they actually trying to fix flame throwers?

Well.. I'm very close to Master Pistoleer.. (still a Novice Commando). Looks like I made the right choice!...

Q.. thanks! (SARCASM!)

Unless 'increasing damage to our specials" is .. about TEN FOLD, then Q and the rest of the Dev team can go to hell.

Hey commandos. I feel for you guys.

I dont know what these devs could thinking. Its hard to believe they intend heavy weapons to be close range. Thats just stupid. I have played the pen and paper star wars roleplaying games. In those things like rocket launchers and grenades are incredibly powerfull, but are risky to use all the time, and very rare. These heavy weapons arent to heavy if they got no blasting range what so ever.

Bummer. I was really hoping to see commandos blowing things up, and blasting with some heavy cannons. If i were you guys i would switch classes. Sounds like their idea of commandos isnt what we were thinking.
