Actually Fett was the only one to keep a level head. While everyone else was diving for cover, he raised and aimed his weapon and basically took up a fighting stance.
What I really find ironic is the fact that back in the old pen and paper SW RPG (not the new Wizards of the Coast version) grenades were borked there as well. You could not throw a thermal detonator far enough to get out of the blast range

I am a new ws. Low on funds and resources. Was curious if anyone had any insight on grenades. I know they take some a good deal of resources and time. But are they a good investment? And which ones seem to be the best sellers? Any Advice would be helpful!

I've been trying to think about how best to answer this, but haven't come up with anything good. So, here are some pieces of advice.
The best selling grenades are, hands down, Thermal detonators. Most people don't want to get Master Commando, and with AP2, they are better thean Imperial detonators. C12s sell very well since anyone can use them.
Wander around your server and figure out if there is actually room in the economy for another grenade seller. A number of WSs avoid doing grenades because they can be a pain to make.
Grenades definitely are a pain to make. They take lots of resources, time, and you'll need a bunch of factories in order to make them. If you are going to make grenades, you should start with C12s since they require fewer resources than anything else. You'll also need at least 3 factories. It will take time to ramp up production, so start slowly.
To make good grenades, you'll need good, but cheap, resources. You shouldn't have to pay more than 5cpu for any of your components. Try making one or two C12s. If your stats aren't close to 200-800 damage, you might not want to bother making with grenades. You'll also need to determine a price where you make enough profit, but also don't discourage people from buying from you.
As with any WS, your repuation is everything. No matter what you make, you are going to have to find a way to get people to think of you when they want to buy their weapons. You can do this by advertising on the forums, using barker robots, etc. If people like dealing with you, you'll get good word of mouth and lots of return business.
Finally, grenades might very well get nerfed in the CU. Don't tie up all your assets in grenade production.

C12 seem to sell best at the moment because everyone can use them but that could all change soon. Thermal Detonators sell well to those doing the serious Jedi grinding. Grenades can be a good way to make money but they require alot of money and resources just to get started making them.
Since you are a new WS I dont think you should start with grenades. Personally I would suggest that you build up a BIG stockpile of all the required resources and a few generic types and wait for the CU to come to the live servers, if you want to do some crafting and make some money then you should make normal weapons for specific people or maybe a few for the bazaar.
This is all just my advice based on how little we really know about the CU. Maybe other smiths will have different suggestions for you.

I dont make any muitions. Well I try not too. But I be damn if my guild isnt constantly hitting me up for mines for our bases...

Nah.
I used to make hundreds of cases of grenades,havnt sold a single one since the CU.
Now i cant even give them away.

with just one commando, not enough, get 6 commando's together one tosses an imp det right before the other 5 through protons, watch 30 people crap there pants, esp jebi.
