unless it changed today you can only change standard for elite if you dont dont have enough elite points for a box.... and it 2 standard for 1 elite point

As I said to my old PA.
If you are commando now, drop down to marksman, drop master, drop the marksman trees you dont need..master pistols, rifle, TKM..or any 2 ranged professions besides those needing masters in any novice profession. That way, you have the novice and elite points to respec into MCommando and whatever 250 point combat template you want.
It is the only way in the current Respec system to keep a 250 SP profession before/after the CU.
It's easier to do and have it done in old system, than grind the loss after the CU.
Master Marksman and respec system gates anyone who need it now, but dont after CU

I am just biding my time. They NEED to fix this, it is fundamentaly screwed up to punish such a large percentage of the player population and force folks to regrind templates. I am leaning towards canceling, but might do a quick grind of tkm or swordsman with rifleman that I already have just to get enough points. I take issue with the principle of the matter even more so than the grind which I despise... I did it for test just to help try and find bugs, but that wasn't enough for the Devs to want us to grind more. I say the next time they hire on new members of the Development team they should have to go back through a their certifications again and pay Comptia etc for the tests to regrind their resumes so they can start to develop again...and this is supposed to be our hobby, not job... it feels more and more like work everytime I am logging in recent days.

Nick,
Any revisions anticipated?
My thought is that with less than 24hrs to go now... that would be a negative. I managed to completely thrash all 3 of my toons that had master marksman as well as my two yr old commando in about 8 hours worth of gaming to maximize the sp. I am not one bit happy that it came down to this... but I will not be grinding after the CU. The work I spent breaking my toons to fit the devs' idea of a combat template was at least 100x less of a pain in the arse than it will be to grind out higher level PvE content to get xp. I mean, heh, 1 xp for nightsister sentries/initiates and something really low for a ranger when I was testing out commando templates that I could use solo. I highly suggest you all get rid of any extra novice skills that are not prereqs (unless you are willing to get rid of commando as a temp fix to this goofy system... then include master marksman) and pick up as many elite skill points as you can in the next few hours of game time you have before the CU. For example if you have MC/TKM and Explore I for some terrain nego.... get rid of novice scout and explore I and grab 0/0/0/3 Rifle, Carb, or Pistoleer to pick upa few more elite skill points since those boxes take combat xp and are fast with a batch of protons.Use those nades to help your commando achieve a completed commando after the CU... heh we aren't FS grinders... we are CU Commando grinders

I was:
MBH 0040 Pistols and 0040 Commando.
I pretty much did the same as above. 4-2-4-4 pistoleer, MBH and novice Carbineer.
This will get me MBH+MC and I have xp banked to re-buy novice carbineer.

I have some xp banked so the 2 or 3 boxes I will have to grind will let me really gauge if i want to stay or go.

Any idea why they are subjecting us to this horrible thing known as the respec system? I mean if we have used 250, just let us spend 250. Its not like everyone isn't already a master anyway at stuff, letting us put them where we want them is what will keep us happy.

Per Ms. Tiggs, you can respec your toon once every 12 hours for the two weeks after the system goes live. That's a small bit of relief. I think. It's late. lol.
