Did you know...

...that in the original script for "The Return of the Jedi" Lando and Nien die as the millenium falcon is engulfed in the explosion of the second Death Star? The test screening audience did not respond well, so it was changed for the final film.

... that the original title of "Return of the Jedi" was "Revenge of the Jedi," but later it was thought that revenge was not a trait of a Jedi, so it was changed? You can even find posters that were made up that say "Revenge of the Jedi" on them.

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

I think for the players with 2 accounts it woud be nice to learn how to run 2 swg clients in a single windows profile.

I'm sorry, but wouldn't your computer choke, sputter and basically die from the extra strain? I mean most people with good systems have a bit of slowdown just running 1 SWG client. I can't imagine running 2. Do you have your CPU overclocked to 6GHz and a liquid nitrogen colling system in your case and 4Gigs of DDR566 RAM?

Got one for you....

Did you know that the little tidbits on the server loading pages, there's alot of them with information that was outdated on release day, and is even more out of date now....

My favorite is one that says multiple scouts in a group will each be able to harvest a different resource, and shows a graphic of a radial menu that never made it to live....

True, many of them are outdated, like the one that mentions item that are uninsured will end up on your corpse. Although I have yet to see one that was outdated at launch.

BUT, if you are in a group with several scouts, you CAN harvest multiple resources. Maybe the specific radial menu didn't make it in, but you can all harvest once each on every creature that you kill.

The loading screen for Scout harvesting was out of date as of launch. The original concept was that a creature would have bone, meat and hide, each of which could be harvested once. So Scout A would skin the critter, Scout B would fillet it, and Scout C would gather its bones. That was scrapped before launch.

Later, in an attempt to ease the passage of people from Novice Scout to Novice Bounty Hunter, a "60% rule" for harvesting was added. In a group, in ANY group, even with an MSE droid, you harvest 60% of what you otherwise would have. The tradeoff is every group member can harvest. So, if you have 10 people in the group, you harvest 600% of the unaltered resource quantity. Naturally, this is very exploitable.

Did You Know:
o Item Storage on droids works now - and stored items do not decay on death
o Creatures don't "see" what happens more than 64m away from them
o Grouping gives you access to higher paying missions, as well as an exp bonus
o Cloning will save you from wounds when you die
o Num Lock by default enables autorun - no need to hold down a key
o Hitting peace before being aggroed will stop you from auto attacking in response
o You can create new chat channels for events and the like
o Being a Jedi isn't necessary to have fun

A lot of these are obvious to the forum regulars, but not so obvious to the people who have just started out or never read the forums.

hows this for a launchpad tip: "To get the most out of your gaming experience, you shouldignore all the old outdated messages on the loading screen". Or, ummm... heres a novel concept, you could UPDATE them! Instead of giving us a new place to find useless tips can you please fix the old ones please? You know the ones im talking about, on the loading screen that appear every time you log on or travel on a shuttle. Its ridiculous how many of them are no longer accurate.

Did you know: that most of the people that has replied in this thread are grumpy old men (and women)?

Come on, give the guys a break. Don't you think the Dev's have a life besides their job? And making changes to a game of this size is not done over night. I'm sure they'll get around to it.

I agree DuuRandor. In fact another task which I'm taking on is to update and add to all the loading screen messages. That requires a full publish to get in, so expect to see them fixed in the next publish (not the one currently on Test Center). I'll likely start a thread at some point to get your suggestions for ones to add.

If not, read the manual linked in my sig

And Q, if you want to include that manual in the Holocron in game, feel free I'll be pushing out version 4 after the next publish

Plz devote more time to the profession and combat balances for Publish #7 ... Worry about cosmetic updates such as loading screen info when things have stabilized more.

Consider that the current "Did you know" encourages slicing and you're, at the same time, considering penalizing people for carrying sliced items with the imperial smackdown.

So a new (or current) player comes on, sees the post, gets his item sliced, then storm troopers run over and shoot him in the face (or demote him if he's an imp) for it.
