I think as a almost master commando.. ,for the second time well actually third lol, and a master AS I have a little bit of insight.
1- Yes, from reading it all the AS correspondent got fed up because he couldnt get a decent communication going. he handled it poorly. Until that finaly blow up though the man was extremely useful and worked his butt off. Much respect top him. In fact he is yet doing the same work trying to help out.
2- Many armor smiths are upset about losing the "voice" to the devs at a crucial time. Suchas he was listened to anyway wasnt great but he was our corro.
3- Hand crafted armor isnt the problem per say. It is part of the problem. If for example everyone who wants armor on say the first few weeks of the CURB comes in like normal do you think I can hand craft 27 differentr types of armor for my different customers?
4- They have increased the organics requirements about 50%. Are there going to be more rangers collecting after the CURB or less? Will those same rangers be able to hunt alone or need large groups. Lets assumes the AS is willing and not the greedy ones out there. He decides he will only increase the price according to the cost increase of the organics.... Lets see a minimum of say just 100 more unitshide at average 100 cpu. Thats 10k and its a lot more than that over all the increase is around 500 or so units maybe more.
5- Many resources were being invalidated by the OQ + SR change to OQ + UT change. Which means a need to gather all new resources. Imagine if they said you are all still commandos. You will all be fully certified with your old weapons. However we have removed all those old weapons and added a 5th line to grind exp for. Also that needed type of exp is not currently in shift. Sorry youll have to wait to eba commando for abit..
Yes, they are frustrated. Yes some and many have made billions. So? Does that mean they should be totally screwed and be able to practice their profession? ISnt that the same overall complaint we have here? We want to be Commandos. We want to be heard.
I find it amazing how incredibly self absorbed we are individually to each profession. "Commandos are so being screwed" "But those armor smiths they are all greedy they are just getting what they deserve" Makes me wonder why anyone should feel bad for us as commandos if cant do the kind of damage or sue the kind of weapons we beleive belong to us.

Masal, I don't think anyone is really thinking that way over here...one of my earlier posts in this thread was on the points of the experimentation and resource changes, which I heavily sympathize with you folks on...and something I think, if everyone knew about would too. The thing with hand crafting the appearance core (Correct me if Im wrong, but aren't the "inner guts" factory enabled? Just you can't assemble the final piece) isn't that big of an issue considering shipwrights already are under a system like it. The devs want to do away with the mass produced clones...and maybe it'll be beneficial to the social aspect of the game.

Remember im a master commando and master armor smith. So both forums are my home. The final appearance can be factory run as well. However its not like when As usually made just composite and ubese. There are now about 27 different types of armor. there is no one best armor.
Production times take longer ( a good AS trying to meet demand could spend all day and I do mean 8 hours setting and running factories). That was when there was one type of armor to craft that everyone wanted. Now players can and will want more armors. As their armor mitigation drops they can and will want tougher armors. So demand will increase as so will the time to make the armor.
Socially speaking an Armor Smith wont have time to socialize. they can just stand in front of factories and stare. Hopefully , as most great ones are full time crafters with no combat) they do not get killed by random spawns in front of the 20 or so factories they will need to ahve to meet the demand.
Unless on each server there will be a commando elite guard to stand there while they craft for hours at a time.......

It is very unlikely that armor pricing will drop after the CURB. Yes we will make less money after the CURB. So it stands to reason that the cost of goods would need to be lowered right? But its now tougher to gather resources on say dathomir. So less hides harvested per kill, harder to kill, more time spent on the kills... Think the scouts and rangers will charge less for this? They increased the amount of hides needed. Think AS will charge less for their now more expensive and harder to obtain organics?
AS will now require increased time to craft the products we will want. We in turn will be wanting to try new armors. figure out our best edge in combat. We will burn through much new armor either grinding out the exp for those that havent finished or learning what cana nd cant do and then clone
.
Just saying this is all very confusing and a bad time for it all to be ruched to meet the release of the new movie. Im still finishing regrinding commando on my rerolled toon. ( Should not have deleted master smuggler master commando wookie before I knew about ROTW )
