I was at the village last night doing my phase 4 quest and after going through 4 waves I still had only elemental +1. Need to have my weaponsmith make me a new set of weapons and see if AoE works off and on like some of you have been seeing. I have a PFT that was made after each Pub and they all work the same so far, Ill report what the new PFT did later tonight ....

my normal AoE is elemental+1, so instead I use a rifle and fan shot for a more effective AoE...Fan shot with a flame thrower does one normal damage, and two elementals+1 vs 3+ full damage shots when using a rifle.

I assume the servers will reset today since it's Tuesday. Any commandos out there available to test something when they come back online? I'd do it myself but I'll be working :/

Last server reset, I logged in directly aftermy server (Ahazi) was available. Previously, I was doing the Kerritamba quests on Kashyyk and I had logged out in theKhowir Forest area. I resumed the quests and noticed that all my attacks were doing significant AoE damage (I tested my LBC and PFT, see post above). Later on I left the forest, and Kashyyk, and went to Rori. I took some Rebel missions to test AoE again, and this time it was broken, back to 1 damage + X elemental.

I'm wondering what happens if someone logs in directly after a server reset, uses commando weapons, and assuming the AoE is working, the person stays in the particular zone they logged in to. How long will it continue to work?

Also at some pointI'd like to try having 2 commandos log into the same server directly after a server reset, and see if both of them are giving proper AoE, or just the "first" one.

I have a sneaking suspicion that only the first player who uses commando weapons after a server reset gets to have proper AoE, until they move to a new zone. Hasn't this type of behavior surfaced in the past with other bugs?

If this is the case, certainly it would make the bug easierfor dev's to track down and fix.

I just ran my own test. I hit one huurton for 1390 damage and the three nearby for 118 damage with my PFT.

I also got a message that I coused it to take 339 fire damage, which I assume to bethe elemental damage. It was reported separately in a different color. Only one report was given, so I assume it did not affect the other targets in the AoE.

Subsequent shots were doing more like 800 to 1300 points damage, and more fire damages around 300 to 350 were reported each time I fired. Every time I fired I got 118 area damage, even when I missed the main target.

The fire damage (should be yellowish text by default) is your DoT

It runs on a seperate timer, and will "tick" for around 150-400 damage every tick

Today I logged in immediately after Ahazi came up and again AoE was working correctly. My PFTs were doing ~40% energy to nearby targets, and my LBC was doing 100% energy to nearby targets. I ran around testing some stuff and it didn't break again until after about 45 minutes.

I was able to switch between weapons without causing it to break. I'm guessing that it breaks after a certain number of aoe attacks occur after a server reset. The next test I do will probably be using the same weapon for the whole session and see how long before AoE breaks again.

I usedmy Proton Rifle during this session and interestingly enough, it was the only AoE weapon which was still doing only 1 point of damage to nearby targets.

Turn on verbose combat output and you can see the specifics of the damage you are doing. The problem we're talking about is that the base damage type(energy, for a PFT) is only doing 1 point of damage to nearby targets. In your above situation, you'll see that the PFTs elemental damage (heat) is causing most of the damage to nearby targets (probably 117), at 100% of the main target's heat damage.

When AoE works, a PFT does around 40% of the main target's energy damage to nearby targets. So in your situation above, if the main target takes 1390 damage total(1273 energy, 117 heat) nearby targets would take around 626 damage total (509 energy, 117 Heat)
