lol ,thats all i can say when reading this complaint .i imagine you were not to mad when the commando class was broke.... im so sick of people whining about the commando class ...and the bounty hunter class .............ect.commandos got it royally for a long time ,and now that they got it good for a second you want to whine about it . it is complaining like this that keeps the nerf bat swinging away .....lol here is a suggestion why dont you ask the devs to nerf it so that no attack does any dammage ....lol that way it would be fair to everyone .....lol swing away nerf bat swing away

Okay, I like realism. While I am willing to suspend my disbelief for a lot of things in this game in the name of "science heretofore unknown" (which includes the Force, btw), I will not stand for a completely total defiance of physical logic... You expect to have a pet that is completely immune to fire??? That's really stretching it, and it sounds rather retarded. You're talking about a creature that probably doesn't exist in real life--even couldn't. If the pet is somehow Force-sensitive, I might consider the possiblity of a completely flame-resistant creature, but I highly doubt such is the case. In any case, I would imagine the flame thrower is shooting fire that is much too hot for most biological organisms to avoid not being caught on fire--much less being severely hurt from the heat itself. Being set on fire only means that your pet is now interacting very nicely with the surrounding oxygen in the air since the proper temperature was reached, allowing the pet to ignite. In the end, the notion of a flame-retardant pet--no matter how I try to explain it--sounds... retarded! But, this is Star Wars, after all, so I might agree that it is possible there is some creature out there with 100% resist, and, regardless of how the mechanics in the game work now, I would think 100% means invulnerability. Now, what this means is not that the pet wouldn't get set on fire if it fell into lava, was struck by thermal detonator (which, we might assume, is something like a contained matter-antimatter explosion), etc. (At least, I hope, and that hope is in short supply when you consider that the Devs don't seem to mind folks swimming in acid rivers, 1000 ft.-high waterfalls, etc.) It just means that it's burning point is much higher than the flame thrower could possibly produce on its own. But... consider that thermite, when ignited, can burn right down through an engine block like a hotknife through butter. Maybe my math is wrong--and I know I'm no physicist--but it seems that the flame thrower produces heat about as intense as that thermite, if we assume it's some sort of superheated plasma (probably hydrogen), which would have a high potential for heat. On the other hand, having that much heat would make the wielder of that flame thrower very hot, and is not recommended for indoor use

I am a commando, and i think the flame DOT is overdone. I dont think the damage of the weapons is to much, but the dev's really need to fix the flamethrower DOT. As it is now, the flame thrower is a to much. The restistances SHOULD work against ALL attacks of that type. Heat resistance should work against the flame DOT. In saying this, it is a restistance, not an immunity, they should still take damage. But thats why commando's have more than one weapon. When fighting a Heat resistanced creature, switch to the acid rifle etc... Another indicator of this fact is that 1 out of every 10 people i see now is running around with a flame thrower. No other weapon from the commando tree, just the flamethrower. The Smuggler with the FT, the CH with the FT etc... This should also help inticate something. The guns are powerful, and they rightfully should be. Now i know, cuz i was a commando from the begining, we are all not powergamers, but the current influx of commando's, and IMHO the people being idiots with the weapons are all the powergamers doing their regular switch to exploit whatever profession is currently it. But that is just my opinion.

Nitewolf why is it that if you shoot my 100% heatresist pet with justregular fire "magma" it does no damage? I thought you said that since your gun is a walking volcano magma sprayer that it hurts everything, but if you dont do your special you do nothing against my pet, explain that dumbass.

You're just an ignorant powergamer, end of story.

I said it was Napalm, Napalm is man made not natural. This is the stuffed used to burn bio-chemical weapons before they have the chance to spread. Normal fire cannot do this, you toss bio-chemical vial into a bonfire as tall as the empire state building, its gonna just spread into the smoke. A fire that tall is going to be HOT and napalm is HOTTER.

Anyway its a bug that the dot isn't doing 1/3rd the damage the attack hits for, its doing 1/3rd the damage the spam reports to you. Don't post here about it, /bug it and keep playing. Posting here just means you deserve getting flamed for it.

You guys keep reading the post written by the long winded guy you think is an idiot.

The long winded idiot is going to play the game now. Enjoy.

Bah, too much thinking about physics and interpretation in a fantasy setting. Is 100% resistance a hard rule or realistic one. They say those black boxes in real life are indestructable and fire proof, but just about everytime there is a plane crash, most of themgo up in smoke. Is a 100% resistant creature supposed to withstand any heat indefinitely or should it succumb to the continued dmg of being on fire for a sustained period of time. Seems to me, everything has a burning point and will melt, burn, etc, if the fire burns hot enough soit is just a question of reaching that point.Does the heat from a flamethrower burn hotter than any other heat sourcein the known SWG universe? I dont think they intended for DOTS to make us ponder thermal dynamics in the game instead of enjoying itso they should either make 100% resistbe totally resistant forever or change it to 100% inital hit resistant and will suffer dmg over time. Leave our DOT dmg and currently working weapons alone.
