Thread: OK so where are the docs?

And in some cases, RL stalkers

And that's they type of comment/attitude that is the reason the devs no longer give us dates and timelines...they use to but everytime something got delayed or cancelled, they got flamed into hiding...so they went with a policy of not sharing their timelines...only approximations...
Approximations(sp?) are dangerous things and the assumptions of whats actually in the CR too. I just hope they make a good job of it and surprise us with what it actually contains
Did I say they "never" intended to push the revamp or the docs? NOPE!!! I said they never promised to have them out last week, or yesterday, or today, or tomorrow, or next week, etc...
Folks have a right to be bitter, but don't let it turn you juvenille in behavior...The Devs do plan on making the Revamp happen, it's just a matter of when...They know that it might hurt their business to wait, but they would have to be IDIOTS to rush it out...I'd rather they take the time to get it right rather then put it out have assed...
Yup have to agree with you here if they mess it up they will have an even bigger prolem on their table
One of the #1 complaints about SWG is that it was rushed out of Beta to fast without fixing a lot of the bugs...So now people are crying over the Revamp not being rushed out...or the Docs not being rushed out...believe it or not, but we Correspondents are on YOUR SIDE...so when we tell you that it's worth the wait, guess what, IT IS!!!!
Did you know that most Correspondents started out as their forums most active ranters? And everyone of them pretty much at one point or another, after getting the Correspondent Position, realized something crazy...The Devs and Programmers actually want to accomplish our requests...I know, I can't believe it myself...
Ah yeah but Devs and especially programmers aren't the biggest fish in the the SOE/Lucasarts tank. Which whilst unfortuate in some respects is good in others as quite a few companies have gone under after being led by their Devs.
Here is something else you may not realize...did you know that everything that goes into the game, and I mean EVERYTHING, must get LucasArts clearance...even the Devs making big game related posts must get legal clearance...That's the price Sony pays for creating a licensed game...And that's a reason why the Revamp has taken so long (including the docs)...Everybit of new contentthat we pretty much see probably took weeks for getting legal clearance before even hitting the test server...Even the things that NPC's say has to be cleared...
So basically what I'm trying to say is "STOP BEING SO PESIMISTIC"...I will never lie to any of you...if I see or hear of something bad, I'll tell you...and if I say good things are coming, they are...We've waited this long for good things to happen, we can wait a bit longer and YES, it will happen...In the meantime, ask yourself why you started playing this game...get back to that...and JTL is coming (whether you are boycotting it or not) and it looks freaking awesome...Once JTL is done, guess what the Devs have planned to work on next? NOTHING CURRENTLY...WHY? because they'll already be neck deep in getting the Revamp done and out to the live servers...work on the revamp has already started...that is a given fact and the Docs back that up...
The good things are coming but are subject to change, so we will just have to sit tight and wait and see what we get. I am still going to be here

New Worries Now, From the Carbineer Forum:

To all...
I have decided I no longer wish to play SWG. There are many reasons for this but for constructive purposes, I'll keep them to myself. I wish you all the best in future and hope the developers can actually implement a working combat system some time in the near future.
Once a Carbineer, always a Carbineer. A fond farewell my friends...
Why is this a worry? BECAUSE HE HAS SEEN THE DOCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and IS STILL LEAVING THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not just waiting for the Revamp, but QUITING THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()

Ehm, you don't think his RL has anything to do with this? Althou he says that he nolonger wish to play, it may be due to facts outside the game entirely.
I am not that worried about the revamp becouse I know the future of SWG is with it. If it's bad then SWG will fall and I don't think SOE will just try and milk more money of it with the promise of the CR untill it's doom.
No, most people who have RL isues will state it as such and no one would make a point of it. he stated he is leaving the game where he could have just stated that he was stepping down as a corespondent. In addition, his final comment concerns the combat revamp and speaks for itself

SOrry, didn't notice this before. So the current set of Combat Revamp DOCs - have NOT been approved by Lucas Arts. Doesn't that mean that the recent interview, given by a Lucas Arts employee, where they state that TKMs and Commandos are going to be nerfed, more accurate now? Since SOE is at the mercy of what Lucas Arts wants, is this what will happen? ![]()
Garvin, we are not saying you are lieing to us. Just that SOE may be misleading you or just not have all the facts. Especially if the documents have NOT been approved

The docs i am sure have been approved, no one would put a lot of time and money in the docs if they were going to be on the chopping block. No, the corr have already seen them so i am postive the docs are approved and the only thing holding them back is just some filling of holes the corr have seen. So, when we get them they will not be shreadded by us so badly. Well, this is my oppinion at least.

The summit was designed to halt the Bleeding of SWG customers. Many people have closed their acounts and SOE needed to keep people playing. An initial release of documents of workin progress, remember this revamp WAS NOT even on the radar screens till next year some time, to the trusted corespondents was design to buy them time.
Garvin's statement leaves the DEVs with an out , if needed, with the corespondents. AKA, "Sorry guys Lucas Arts did not approve the changes and we need to hit the drawing boards again". There will along time between now and when we see the DOCs. Especially with changing corespondents. The new guys will need to be brought up to date, in order to handle the questions. A number of "Friday Features" will cover JTL, new species hasn't been stated as of yet.
Belive me I would love to be wrong. However, past performance in this case IS indicative of future perforamnce ![]()

That interview took place, as far as I know, before the Lucas Arts had seen all the Revamp docs...They may have had some idea but probably no understanding of what it meant...It's SOE's job to explain that stuff to the media...It's before things go public that it must be approved...the Devs don't need that type of approval to run things by the Correspondents because we've already signed legal agreements not to share...
SO NO...I didn't lie about anything nor did SOE...All the Combat changes now have either been cleared or will have no problem clearing the approval of Lucas Arts (they don't effect the SWG storyline or universe in any way so they won't havea problem)...it's just timing that is an issue...
I think that's kind of obvious from the "250 SP Commando" comments.
But as I have often stated, maybe I'm just crazy.
