For one, ranger isn't mean to have the same effect in the game that commando is. Just because I haven't been hanging around the commando forums since pre-beta doesn't mean I don't grasp what is happening and have a good level of understanding. You are making assumptionsfrom my post count undoubtedly, otherwise what would make you think I haven't read those that you have listed? Of course I'm not going to pretend I have read them all, but some of them I have...and the original point of this thread was, yes, to point out all of the whining and ranting going on. You try to justify it with the excuse that "ohh the devs won't listen if we don't cry and whine and rant"....I don't recall Droid Engineers or Chef's doing this. Maybe I missed that part in my forum strolling? Anyway, I didn't post it to pick a fight, like a lot of you think I am doing and have responded a bit hostilly because of that.

Where did I said it was suppose to have the same effect...You said they were a top notch forum, which I assume you implying they don't "whine" or "rant"...yet you also point out that they have issues ("they are useless beyond anything in the game" as you put it)...I was just making a direct connection via your own words...that's all...your post proves what other's are telling you...

Making posts containing ideas and suggestions for improvements to our profession shows a grasp of our profession. Defining our issues shows a grasp of our profession. Taking a stand on those issues and ideas shows a grasp. I read through EVERY one of your posts in the Commando forum, and I can confidently say, from what I read, you have not proven you have any grasp of our profession. I may be wrong and you may have a total grasp of our profession, but nothing you have done has shown that...All you've done is criticize those who have taken a stand and demonstarted they do have a grasp...how would you view that if you were looking at it from the opposite side of the fence...if someone who has barely posted in a forum, never proved they understand our issues, never made one recommendation for a fix, came in and told those who have to stop "whining" and "ranting"...not a pretty picture...

All right then...take what you've read and provide something of substance...define our issues and come up with logical intelligent recommendations on how to see them fixed...now come up with a strategy on how you are going to get the Dev's to implement those fixes...TH has responded to most other professions Top 5 lists and Top 10 questions...He hasn't responded to ours yet...unless of course you accept "Wait for the Combat Balance" as an acceptable response...

What you did was criticize folks for "whining" and "ranting" without looking at the reasons/history behind their "whines" and "rants"...What you see as "whining" and "ranting" others see as a display of just how much passion these folks have for our given profession...And some of us see this forum as a place to release pent up hostilities in a healthy open forum where other's can sympatize...Yes...some are pure rants...but it good for folks to get them out knowing that there are other's here that understand and will listen to them...We are use to being ignored by others...we don't ignore each other...if you don't like what someone is "ranting" or "whining" move on to the next post...let other's who sympatize deal with it...

Yes you did...My alt is a Droid Engineer and Architect...So I've been neck deep in the DE and Crafting Changes...And it was "Ranting" that got the Dev's to finally listen...
Anyway, I didn't post it to pick a fight, like a lot of you think I am doing and have responded a bit hostilly because of that.
Whether you realize it or not, you unsympetetically took other's passion about their profession and told them to keep their feelings to themselves unless they can express it rationally...sorry, but that's a no go...I'd rather have a forum where people can come and get their hostile feelings of their chest anyway they'd like rather then a forum where people have to watch their words or end up being titled a "ranter" or "whiner" by people...
Everyone has the right here to express their feelings in their own way...even the ranters...even the whiners...even you...If you don't like their posts...skip over them...But don't claim that the Dev's ignore us because of them...Obviously not true as seen from the Dev responses we have seen and from all over the forum...Of all the posts you've made in our forum, isn't it funny that the most substantial one was to tell folks to stop "ranting" and "whining"...and then you wonder why it get's people hostile?

Please explain to me, Garvin, how I am truly not grasping the understanding of the commando profession? That point interested me most...I don't find the points you made valid,and simply because I do not post extravagent threads like you and pick apart every post that you make that contradicts mine and have not assembled the Top 10 issues for Commandos, I "don't grasp" the profession. There must be some deep philosophy behind the commando profession then, fill me in.

I see no reason why I, as an innocent forum reader and an avid player, should have to suffer by reading those poor attempts at getting a point across. Do you? Asking for a certain degree of level-headedness from the posters here shouldn't be too much from someone as stand-uppish in the community as you. Frankly I'm surprised you support that course of action...but who am I to speak, I don't grasp what is going on here.

While I dont agree with ranting and whining as a way to get a point accross, it is still someone's opinion and should be heard. Just because they presented their argument in a different fashion from yours does not mean that their message was incorrect or should be silenced. I say, take it with a grain of salt or dont read their posts at all.

Garvin, comon man, this guy is answering almost imediately. Hes obviously bored and just looking to keep a stir going as he simply takes everythinganyone says to him offensively. Just let it go, you know we all know that you know what your talking about, you know? lol I know a lot of "knows" in there. lol Ok I'll stop, but anyway just let it go.

LoL you are right on that, I am kind of bored...I'll peace with this, the original intention was just to maybe shed some light on the subject so it might not get out of hand. Unfortunately, not everyone shares a common view in this particular instance. I didn't think I'd get asmuch disagreement, but apparently I'm not dealing with the same people I thought I was.

1) Don't make yourself out as a victim or martr here ("but who am I to speak, I don't grasp what is going on here"). Never once did I say that you don't grasp what's going on or that you don't haveright to express your feelings/opinions...you are just feeling sorry for yourself now or trying to get other's to do so...
2) Who the heck are you...and for that matter...who the heck are any of us (me included) to decide what people should and should not be able to post...Who are we to tell them that their posts are less valuable then ours just because we disagree with them or because we feel they are "ranting" or "whinting"...that's seriously egotistical...Re-read what you just posted...There is some serious ego in there...
I have said repeatedly that I don't always agree with the "ranting" and "whining"...And heck...I've been known to rant myself from time to time after an especially bad move on the Dev's part (my own opinion of course)...Do I think you should have to "suffer by reading those poor attempts at gettnig a point across"? HELL YES!!! To say otherwise is to invalidate everyone else who doesn't meet what you feel your level is...where you personally set the bar...
We have posts that are completely level headed, intelligent, and get our points across to the Dev's...LordS is very good at bringing those to the Dev's attention...we also have passionate posts from other forum members...Everyone has the right to post what they feel...If they feel it's important enough to share that's good enough for me...Even those who come here just to scream "NERF" believe it or not...they have a right to do so...just like I have a right to disagree with them publically...
All I and other's have been saying is that you are misplacing blame...you put the blame on those you consider "ranters" and "whiners"...and if that's the way you truely feel, that right there is what makes people feel you truely doe not have a full grasp of our profession...it's their opinion...and just like you have a right to your, they have a right to theirs...
How would I be a "stand-uppish" person if I didn't stand up for everyone's right to post the way they wanted with what they want...How accepting would I be if I set expectations on what people post and how they post it? Howopen would I be if I labeled what I disagree with as "ranting" and "whining" and told folks their posts have no place here? What kind of person would that make me?
What if I came out and said your post, in my opinion, was just whining, below our Community Standard, and had no place in this forum...and that you should take your issues elsewhere...that would be a COMPLETE lie from how I truely feel...but it sure would be a crappy thing to do...and it would sure be a good way to put down what you took the time to post...Personally...I wouldn't want to sink to that level...What you posted has merit...and it's your opinion...Just like it's my opinion and many other's that you are misplacing blame...

Oh I know...But you are missing the fact that I'm hecka bored at work myself...and I love a debate...I never take anything posted personally and I never bring any of it into the game...
And those who have followed my posts know...when it comes to long winded, over worded, eye numbing posts...I'm full of it...err...I mean them...
