Thread: The bandwagon is beginning.....

Just want to say, I wasn't actually a Commando in beta, but when I saw the flamethrower about a week before the game went live, then and there I wanted to be Master Commando. About a month after release, I was finally able to gain Novice Commando, but was sadly disappointed that our weapons royally sucked. But I continued anyway, because I knew they had to do some changes sometime, they can't leave an unfinished class in retail. Where am I at now, before I even knew of the changes? FIeld Tactics 2, HWS 0, Flamethrower 4, and Acid Rifle 1, and still continuing my quest for Master.
Honestly, once these changes go live, I could care less if people think I'm a bandwagoner. Let them "feel superior" because they can call us names, while we will truly know who we are. True Commandos, ohhh yeah!
Don't blame the people bandwagoning - its natural. Blame whatever boneheaded dev decided to give commandos an uber weapon, while heavily nerfing other classes.
I could care less about the AT-STs/Turrest - you do realize that the RL will be able to frequently (if not always) one-shot kill the 2-4k HAM NPC maulers/rebels/champions etc? To say nothing of other possibilities - like say bets I can blow a Fambaa to smithereens with 1 root trap and 2-3 rockets?
(And before anyone thinks I'm a bandwagoner - guess again, I'm an ex-commando who isn't coming back. I was trying to be a stealthy, close range fighter/demolitions guy - ya know what I though commando IS in the real world..not some rocket/flamethrower toting Heavy Infantryman)
I just wanted to say at the moment of my conception, 35 yrs ago, I wanted to be a commando in SWG.
I might have wanted to as a sper m, but i was only 1/2 sure. ![]()

I also think it blows that everyone is going commando now that were actually awesome. All i know is that i was here as a commando before the Lp even gave HW exp or anything. So go ahead and swarm our class. I'll always know who the real commando's are...
LOL I just got a LP... been using the HAR and FT up till two days ago. Talk about pain.
But you know what voss, it matters not one bit. The game is what you want it to be. Dont let the elitist discourage you from doing what you want to do. I understand their sentiments in reference to the bandwagon, but that doesnt make you or me any less of a Commando when we get there. Hell, it is going to take me a year anyways, at the rate I play hehehe. So keep your chin up Voss, once you have accomplished it, you are just as good. Take care.
Hmmm, I must be the Bandwagoneer
(is that new profession ?)
Actauly, when I got the game Cammando was one of the professions I wanted to be. But back then, they were not ready. I was also interested in Ranger. So I got my Full Master Ranger right before the announced changes over there (Don't worry you are not only Flavor next month
)
So now I started a new character on a new server, with the hopes of getting to Cammando right after the changes go live.
There is an upside to all of this. All the Commandos would mean more Weaponsmiths will make commando weapons, since there will be a big market.

Been a Commando for weeks before the LP started giving HW experience, which was fine since I was going for Panic Shot anyway. The timing on fixing LP xp was near perfect for my character, as they changed it to HW xp the very day after getting Panic Shot. First time in any MMO I was in the right place, at the right time, getting just what I wanted, just when I wanted it.

The problem is that casual players who have been working toward Commando since day one, like me,are just now getting there (thanks mostly to the vk nerf), so it's going to be hard deciding who is a bandwagoneer and who is not. Luckily there just plain aren't many on Ket so it will be easier.
The bad side of this on my server is that we have a huge population of PKers (people that join a faction not for PvE, but because they like killing people to show how "1337" they are),so once any change that involves killing ATSTs goes live, Commandos may as well paint themselves red and change their names to "Killme Imps". ![]()
Look, gang, those of us that stuck with this profession so long are just plain IDIOTS. Come on, we've been mocking ourselves this whole time! We knew we were working to being unpowerful, but we did it anyway!
You've got it all backwards. They're not bandwagoners: they're the smart ones.
Look, did you fight the Devs, scream from the hilltops for attention, whine, complain, analyze all just for yourself? Or did you do it so that all COmmandos, and Commandos to be, could benefit from your hard work?
Of course people are going to flood in once they see the profession working. They're bored with old classes, and ours is now a new one. It's only natural.

Your very ignorant with that statement. Many of those who played since day 1 knew this was going to happen so they grinded out the xp, partially from having faith that the class will be fixed(and voila), and partly from the challenge of the hardest to level class in the game.
We have our own reasons to play the class of our choosing, and just because you think its idiotic to play under those circumstances, doesnt mean others share your same philosophy. Players who stuck with it from the beginning are very smart as they knew eventually the class would be fixed, and all efforts paid off. Now that many of us are masters, we can enjoya variety of aspects of the gamerather then go back to xp grinding.
Bring on the AT-ST's ill take all 3 of them on.
But one thing all of the bandwagoneers are missing. They see the damage our weapons will soon be doing. They don't care to realize that, in the case of the RL, there is additional time taken to aim, etc. They will very soon realize that even though your weapon may do HUGE amounts of damage, GETTING the shot off isn't so easy and "point & click".
I predict some will realize that having power and not being able to use it (being sniped while aiming, etc) isn't worth it and will go back to their other professions...
