Thread: Let me put it plainly SOE says No Nerf Coming for Commandos
"People who make arguments like this want the easy road. They want all the power at half the skill cost, and all the flexibility in character development that goes with it."
I'm not exactly what you mean by the "Easy Road". My character could of been a commando 4 times over. I have surrendered and resurrendered multiple times to find the profession that suits me. Am I saying a Pistoleer should be as powerful as a Commando? Why not? Your saying to me that ANY Profession that devotes itself to one weapon should not be as good as someone that uses multiple weapons and would never BE as good as a Pistoleer in short Ranged Combat? My post was constructive. I didn't even put down a single commando in my post. IF anything I was stating how much I do enjoy grouping with my commando friend and how much my class compliments his class. I am not saying I want the power at Half the skill cost. I have THE SAME amount of skill points as you. If anything, I will be the master at two professions while you on the other hand will only be the master of YOUR given profession. (Example: Most go a little of medic, A little of creature handler.)
I am/was very big in martial arts at one point. I spent about 5 years practicing and competing. I was pretty good when I decided to go a different road.
A martial artist who devotes himself exclusively to one art will be the master of that art. A martial artist who devotes himself to many arts will be "more powerful" in the aspect that he will have the knowledge of a wide variety of arts. But Maybe won't be considered a "master" in his given "Arts". When I say I feel that everyone spends the same amount of skill points, I mean that everyone should be "unique" in there own ways, But also powerful in ways that another class is not.
Commando's Want more range on some of their weapons. You all view this as a good thing. But have you ever ONCE thought of the repercutions that it would have that if you could do 10k from a distance of 64 meters? You think aCommando should be better then a rifleman and truly you are. But should you have the same range as a rifle has? I think not. There has to be a balance to everything. This is their balance to commandos. My class was nerfed to high hell because of people whining. I have NOT once complained on the boards asking for "Power" Or the ability to be better then any other class. If anythign, I have taken it with a grain of salt and worked to be one of the BETTER creature handlers/Rangers in the game.
Anyways, My last post. I do not go into other peoples forums unless I just wanted to say that I'm happy for Commando's.
Good luck to you all,
